Commander Week Day 2: Profession - Firebrand
My main is a firebrand guardian who would love to chuck books at her enemies (if the game would let her). It seems fitting that the protector of Tyria and champion of Aurene would be a guardian. Her burning passion and resolve pushes her through the toughest of challenges, all to secure a better future for them all. After her resurrection, her skills evolved to that of a firebrand. The versatility of her new powers gives her some comfort in that she is more able to hold her own in even the gravest of situations. At least, that's what she hopes.
I think it would be interesting to explore the commander's trauma from literally dying, and I wish that the story would address that fact more. One way I've thought about it with my own commander is that, for a time, she was terrified of fire (ironic, because her guardian powers manifests in the form of light and fire). She could barely stand the sight of lit candles or fireplaces, and her first attempt at using her own fire sent her into a panic. But her fury towards Balthazar and the sheer need to see and feel Aurene safe and sound forced her back onto the battlefield. While it has gotten better over the years, she is still uneasy around fire and prefers the cold. Her only comfort is that her fire can be warm, not just burning.
