Attitude, defined as certain ways of thinking or feeling about something.
· Do you have a positive attitude but struggle with finding the right time?
· How do you feel about who God is and what He is able to do?
· Do you have a trusting attitude?
· Does your situation affect your attitude towards God?
· Are you afraid of praying and getting disappointed?
Let us start my creating a typical scenario. You have a lecture at 9am, you feel you don’t have enough time to spend with God, and so you postpone it to the evening, and then the evening comes and your friends come over so you tell yourself you will wake up early the next day to pray, and the cycle continues and you never get round to doing it. The attitude of procrastination.
How about speaking to Him on your way to class, while you cook your dinner or even while you hang out with your friends. What is important is the bond and the strength of your relationship, which you build by talking, the more you talk to someone the better you get to know them, right?
You think you have no time? Just think about God’s schedule. He is attending to your needs as well as your brother’s needs in Australia and your sister’s needs in Brazil.
All it takes is a little effort!
The bible says you need FAITH, as small as a mustard seed (which is about 1-2mm)- that’s all you need. It didn’t even say a cup of mustard seeds, just ONE!
I know it can be hard to have faith after several disappointments (trust me, I fully understand) but God sees it all. He sees how hard you fight the thoughts of doubts and He knows how hard it can be when your situation looks hopeless, but God is sooooooo faithful, I can’t even express how faithful He is, He always comes through. Just take that little step of faith out of the boat and onto the water just as Peter did. Trust him; forget about your past because the future is brighter, its glorious, its beautiful and it’ll blow your mind. All it takes is that mustard seed faith.
(Romans 8:18- our present sufferings are not worth comparing, to the glory that will be revealed).
The devil may throw a few punches, they may hurt, they may cut deep, but I dare you to just remind the devil who he’s playing with. The KING OF KINGS!! You belong to Him; He fights all your battles and wait for the best part… He ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS wins.
So today I urge you to forget about what happened, forget about the things that hurt you, forget about the disappointments, forget about the times you prayed and you thought your prayers were never answered. There is a time and season for your prayers to be answered.
Start afresh; every day is a fresh start.
From today, make an effort, talk to him, tell him about the things that hurt you, thank him for the things that make you happy and be free, knowing that Greater awaits you.
