Why do you use a bear as an OC? Is there a story and reason?

I’ve had this polar bear alias since 2017 !

I was a big fan of FNAF & my most favorite artist in that fandom was pole-bear. I admired their human designs of FNAF characters a lot...(Clearly shows how I’ve been a crazy head for anthropomorphism for almost a decade) They were my inspiration to start drawing digitally and using social media to post art.

Based off their name: Pole-Bear -> Polar Bear

Still using the Polar Bear name and sona until today because it's silly and super simple to draw

I love you Countryhumans designs. I love how add little details about the countries like flowers or habitats or animals and they’re just so creative and cool AND AND HgGgHGgGhGgG. How do you do it? Do you have any process or what?

And to answer your question, here's a list of some elements that I usually put in my countryhumans designs:

I apply these elements to their clothing patterns, headwear, shoes, and other accessories...

For example, inventions, the Rubik's cube was invented in Hungary, so Hungary has Rubik-shaped earrings.

Or for national plant/flower, instead of placing on their head, stylize it a bit by giving the character flower patterned dress, scarf... Anything that would turn out eye-pleasing

I don't always draw them in traditional attire though; modern clothing with patterns or aesthetics that fit them is also my go-to !

(Like goth UK or metalhead Finland hehe)

One thing is that most of my countryhumans are animal hybrids, inspired by either their national or iconic animal, sometimes from folklore as well (because I find it cool :p)

That’s quite a lot of things to research but I love adding details like that… personally, do researching on many aspects of a country is interesting. It is like a way to know more about them

Fun fact: Gemsbok horns can reach up to 120 cm in length and are longer and narrower in females. So this Namibia could possibly be the tallest girl on the continent if she grows out her horns

PRG Republic of South Vietnam was an armed provisional government in Southern Vietnam that existed parallel and opposed to the Republic of Vietnam (from 6/6/1969 to 30/4/1975.)

After the collapse of the Republic of Vietnam, Republic of South Vietnam took over the entire Southern territory and was the legitimate government. On 2/7/1976, the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North) and the Republic of South Vietnam merged into the current Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

From that, I call that date (2/7/1976) as their wedding day. :)

For this design, I took inspiration from goth subculture which originally from the UK itself ^_^

(She has 4 moles which represents England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland)

UK has 8 extra appendages on her back which each of them has an independent brain. The limbs (not tentacles, limbs) can be controlled to move, capture something / someone… and can move by themselves if they separate from her

Octopuses have 3 hearts btw! So I gave her 2 huge heart shaped earrings and 1 similar heart necklace (I suppose she had her necklace stolen in the art above so she got mad lol XD)

This might sounds silly but the Union Jack looks like it has 8 lines, octopus has 8 limbs, so I thought it’d be fun to make UK as one ;)

I’m Vietnamese living in Vietnam!

Netherlands has never actually seen Canada’s face, since she went blind right before they met. By that, she’s sometimes curious about his appearance. She likes to stroke his hair, it feels satisfying for her. He decided not to cut his hair because of that
