Going to slowly get the ball rolling on this blog.

The outline for now about what this blog will be:

1. Anything relating to Black Jack by Osamu Tezuka, with an emphasis on the manga

2. Anything relating to Tezuka and his other works

3. Other manga and anime from the mid 70′s to mid 80′s in particular

I’m going to keep my main blog unlinked for privacy, though I’m not hard to find. This blog will be generally SFW, though themes present in Tezuka’s work will be present due to the nature of this blog, which may include things like sex and violence.

Pinoko is Black Jack’s daughter. Trans rights are human rights. Racism, ableism, xenophobia, are condemned. People who espouse or excuse genocide, eugenics, ped*philia, nationalism, colonialism, or other violent ideologies and behaviors will not be tolerated or welcome on this blog. if i may, i think the dynamic between black jack and kei kisaragi is underrated. the older and deeper into my transition i get, the more i realize how *real* that feeling is and how unique it is to the ftm experience. how many cishet men will see you, love you, and miss you even as you stand in front of them. its the way their objectifying framework is forced to confront and acknowledge your subjectivity, and maybe their realization that all female people also have this subjectivity, you just wear yours in a way that is visible to him... which makes you all the more intriguing, yet all the more taboo. if he gave in to his feelings for you, he might have to acknowledge the humanity of women, or the femininity inside himself, and that is an utterly untouchable thing for a cishet man.

Artwork by Tsunogai for the Tezuka Osamu’s Beautiful Men and Women Exhibition, held at the Fujieda City Folk Museum & Cultural Center in Fujieda, Shizuoka, Japan from February 3, 2023 to March 31, 2023.

The exhbition is being held to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the opening of the Fujieda City Folk Museum and will include over 140 hand-drawn manga manuscripts of more than 50 unique characters created by Osamu Tezuka.
