What do you thinking they're wedding would be like
I may or may not have too many thoughts about this, so pardon me if this gets a little longer because I feel the need to share the proposal too.
Both love winter. Both love snow. Both love traveling, just going somewhere else for a couple of days. It doesn’t need to be far away, and one winter, around Christmas they rent a luxurious wooden chalet somewhere far up north in Canada, far enough North to see Aurora’s if the sky is clear. It’s cozy with an open fire place, many blankets and furs and a large jacuzzi out in the snow. The original idea was to go for a week, but JJ made sure they go two weeks.
Because: Otabek never saw Northern Lights in his life, even if he’s fascinated by them since his childhood days. JJ knows this, and wants to make sure they are long enough at this place to have clear sky to actually see the lights dance across the horizon.
They go Aurora Hunting basically every night, with little success, with JJ becoming more and more nervous, and Otabek is ??? JJ what’s not good ??? And JJ’s just ‘well, nah, all is fine, it’s just me, you know?’ On the tenth day the lights finally show themselves and under a green arc dancing across the sky above their heads JJ, being a nervous mess and crying before he even choked the first word out, proposes to Otabek with a platinum ring. Otabek is crying too, and says - yes.
the sex that night is amazing
They decide to get married in summer, because they literally can’t wait until it’s winter again and it’s also much more convenient to have a big party because it can be done outdoors. And it IS a big party - JJ’s family alone is huge, uncles, cousins, distant relatives, they are all invited. Otabek’s family is smaller, but they make sure that they buy plane tickets for them all to make sure they can attend. Also: fellow skaters, friends, trainers - it’s over 500 people and Otabek thinks they will be ruined afterwards.
It’s the summer before their last season, they want to compete one season as married couple, a statement, basically. After that, no matter what that season brings, they will retire. They have agreed on that long before. Also that they do not want any presents from their guests. Instead.
Otabek’s best man: YURI (looking fabulous in his suit)
JJ’s best woman: HIS SISTER
The venue is a chateau-like place, classical and a little posh, with a huge garden, ivy, roses, arcs with climbing roses and all of these things. Pretty romantic, obviously. The weather is perfect, sunshine, not too hot, not too cold, just so that everybody is comfortable and the night isn’t too cool to be outside.
The dress code is somewhere between white and black tie, but many guests can be seen in ‘formal’ clothes/style of their home country; or have accessories typical of their origin. Otabek, too. JJ is just TOTALLY taken aback by how stunning Otabek looks (he hasn’t seen him before in his suit with the little). Crying yet again.
During the ceremony, having both western as well as traditional Kazakhstani elements in it, they both are crying more than once, Otabek especially when his father speaks the vows in their native language because it means so much to him that his father (or generally his family) gave them his blessing.
The party afterwards is: AMAZING. Lots of food, lots of drinks, LOTS OF VODKA, lots of dancing and merriment and - flirting.
The sun rises when it’s over, so it’s a wedding morning, rather than a wedding night. They don’t care. It’s still amazing <3
Just other little things:
half of JJ’s female friends faint upon seeing Viktor
Yuri K. gets very protective of Viktor. HE IS MINE
Makkachin is there too (YES HE LIVES).
It takes one hour until Yuri is grossesd out by all the romantic bullshit (which he secretly adores, he’s just .. a bit lost .. being still alone?), but he behaves decently.
At one point, Chris & JJ’s younger brother are .. gone? Viktor, being already quite deep in the cups MUST point this out to JJ.
Yakov flirts with Lilia, a lot. JJ’s quite amused by the looks they receive from Yuri
In a quiet moment Yurio tells them how happy he is for them, and it’s absolutely honest. JJ feels like crying again.
In a not so quiet moment, after several shots of Vodka with Viktor, Yuri tells JJ: ‘IF YOU DO NOT TREAT HIM WELL, I SWEAR…”
JJ takes this very serious and promises more than once to Yuri
Otabek is very emotional that night
A couple of days later they leave for the honeymoon; Mauritius or Maldives. Beach and laissez-faire
