Hello. My name is Lyssa. You can call me Lyss. I am the child of Hypnos, the god of sleep and dreams.

And you might remember me!! This is Rio's mod! Or in canon lore wise, RIO!

Yes, Rio, I get it, we had each other mod the other's accounts. Me and my.. enthusiastic.. friend are just going to share a few rules and facts about me.

This is what I look like and my aesthetic. Don't mind the "Firebug" nickname, a later (or earlier) post will explain.

Likes: Sleep, Lavender, the dark, the Hades Games (just so she can talk to A version of her dad), Catnap (she understands), horror games in general, fire

Dislikes: Apollo in general (Not any of the kids though), the feeling of having to wake up each morning (in a good way), loud noises (minus thunder and jumpscare noises), leaving Hypnos Cabin

Finn was sitting against a tree, hugging his bag to his chest, seemingly only half conscious and bleeding from what looked like claw marks when you came across him. He had just shadow travelled away from a fight with some gryphons, which he thought would be a good way to escape at the time, though was now regretting it. The demigod didn't look in any way ready to fight, but as he noticed you he fumbled for his sword and pushed himself into a standing position, using his cane to keep himself upright.

"Who are you?" he demanded. This wasn't his usual demeanor, but he was weary of being approached when he was injured, he wasn't going to risk getting killed because he let his guard down.

*Standing there was a girl with almost entirely white hair, wearing a camp shirt and.. bunny slippers?*

Are you okay? Gods that looks bad..

*she walks closer but quickly backs up a few paces at the sword.*

He does a double take at the bunny slippers, then lowers his sword, squinting at her, "Hm, do I?"

"Yeah. Thanatos kid. Name's Finn"

He frowned a second in thought,

"Hypnos kid?" he asked

Children of Nyx and Hades can shadow travel. Since Hypnos and Thanatos, our dads, are Nyx's kids, we have our own version. Obviously you can shadow travel, but I can.. dream travel? Basically since half of my siblings are asleep 90% of the time, I have a constant "I can teleport here" beacon. Essentially, if someone is sleeping, I can teleport to them. Make sense?

Let's get you to the infirmary. Judging by the time, either Will or Sunny will be up. Those two never γαμημένος sleep.

I apologize for re-drawing Lyssa and showing Gracie's mod and making her want to give Gracie vitiligo shaped like hearts in advance. I saw the official art of Hypnos and decided to retcon Lyssa as biracial.

@defect-child-of-eros , I did a redraw of Lyssa, so canonically, this is what she looks like now (since I drew her and was like.. I really like this.)

She has non-segmental vitiligo, meaning it moves and shifts over time (an excuse as to why it'll look different every time I draw her).

Since Hypnos in PJO is black, I drew her mixed race, and ended up using 2 different curl pattern brushes before I thought it looked good.. still not entirely proud of it, but it's (hopefully) good enough. Also her eyebrows are a gradient because I couldn't choose whether to make them entirely white, entirely black, or have one of each!

I honestly think it'd be cute if you redrew Gracie (I'm up to drawing her actually if you want me to) where she has vitiligo too, but she has tiny hearts hidden in hers? Cause I made Lyssa's look intentionally like clouds (kind of) and she has a heart shaped one on her hand. Idk.

Open RP Starter

[This is a Riordanverse OC, feel free to use canon characters or OCs to interact, this is my first time writing a starter, so I apologise for any mistakes :]

Finn was sitting against a tree, hugging his bag to his chest, seemingly only half conscious and bleeding from what looked like claw marks when you came across him. He had just shadow travelled away from a fight with some gryphons, which he thought would be a good way to escape at the time, though was now regretting it. The demigod didn't look in any way ready to fight, but as he noticed you he fumbled for his sword and pushed himself into a standing position, using his cane to keep himself upright.

"Who are you?" he demanded. This wasn't his usual demeanor, but he was weary of being approached when he was injured, he wasn't going to risk getting killed because he let his guard down.

*Standing there was a girl with almost entirely white hair, wearing a camp shirt and.. bunny slippers?*

Are you okay? Gods that looks bad..

*she walks closer but quickly backs up a few paces at the sword.*

You.. you feel familiar.

open starter — sleepyhead (yes like the song)

Most individuals were awake by now. The sun having risen with Apollo’s guidance, and campers bouncing around camp like they were running on pure sugar and adrenaline.. and knowing camp- that was most definitely true for at least one camper out there. Even—for once!—the Hypnos kid’s were out and about, rare thing for the children of the god of sleep.

Well, there was one resident of cabin 15 who was not surprisingly unaccounted for: Lorelei Kidd. It was easy to come to the conclusion they were most definitely still asleep. But hey, being children of the gods, it never hurt to check!

That is when you find none other than the blonde child of Nyx still in their pajamas, head buried in a pillow and their blanket thrown on the floor. Found it quite telling whether they were out could or not, or if they were only barely waking up and refusing to greet the sun.

Lorelei adjusted themselves and groaned, knowing that a little extra light had made its way inside.

Lorelei? Are you awake yet? It's almost breakfast time, and they have the good pancakes.

*Lyssa sits outside the fort, waiting for her friend*

Another grumble before one blue eye poked out, had lidded and still plagued with sleep. A yawn pulled itself from the depths of them. They were sleepy as ever, the sun a pleasant lullaby to their systems. A shimmy into another comfortable position was observed.

Their eyes closed again and even with the found foe today sounding like something straight out of Elysium, Lorelei still didn’t budge.

Lorelei, come on.. I know the fort is comfy, but you need to eat something! Also I smelled the pancakes, and they smell AMAZING, I think they also have bacon up there?

The same blue eye peeked out again, seemingly debating on if it was worth it to leave the cozy paradise that was their bed and the Hypnos cabin in general. Because they loved the camps pancakes and bacon was one of their favorite breakfast items. Reminded them of home and their dad and stuff.

“Coffee..?”

It came out an ask, sleepy and quiet, maybe a hint of annoyance for having to possibly get up, but if they have coffee that would be the final reason for them to get up. Coffee was almost like a life line for them to beat sleepy morning.

Probably, and if not, Leo has one in Cabin 9 we can use.

*Lyssa stood up, prepared to help Lorelei out of the fort if needed.*

Begrudgingly they pulled themselves away and got up. Not pleased but willing to if it meant good food and coffee.

“M up..”

There was no intent to change out of their pajamas, which could now clearly be seen to contain an old, worn camp half-blood t-shirt and black shorts. They yawned once more and rubbed their eyes. Taking fingers through tangled hair to at least look a little presentable. No socks nor shoes were worn and they didn’t seem to care all that much.

“M ready to go.”

Alright. Come on, I'm hungry.

*Lyssa holds the cabin door open for her, then walks to the dining pavilion, where (miraculously) there was indeed coffee.*
