NHK General TV will be airing a documentary on the Chōjū-jinbutsu-giga (鳥獣人物戯画), a famous set of Japanese picture scrolls dating from the 12th&13th centuries which are credited as the world’s oldest work of manga.

And who better to host a documentary about the first ever manga than the legend himself, Hirohiko Araki? The documentary airs Sunday, May 17th, 2020 at 13:50 on NHK General.
