Ah, yes. The poorly thought out layout of this shot. Seriously, whose idea was this? If you ignore the pole in the foreground, there’s an awkward gap between Sonic and Amy. It was either that or have one of them blocked by the pole. Maybe the pole should just not be there, or change the angle or something.

I don’t know how the mod manages to get a screencap at just the right moment so that it’s as completely Sonuckles-y as possible out of context.
Though, in context, I do like when the show remembers that Knuckles is a sweetheart that likes to help people. ...Even if Sonic is being a jerk and using that to have Knuckles take his place in Tails’ trap.
THE TRAILER FOR THE SONIC MOVIE IS OUT! CHECK IT OUT RIGHT NOW!
I’m still looking forward to the movie even though I don’t think the trailer looks good. (Gangster’s Paradise is such a poor choice of song.) I don’t trust trailers to be representative of their movies as a whole. I got burned by too many unreliable trailers in the past.
According to this trailer, Dr. Robotnik looks not like a typical Eggman for most of the trailer, but at the end has the bald head and crazy mustache. His body language is also different at the end, being more eager than the more calm persona he starts with. I’m wondering if he goes through a shift in character as the movie progresses. I’d like that. It would be interesting to see how his obsession with Sonic would completely ruin him.
Sonic’s design is different, but I can’t say I hate it. It might grow on me. It’s not like I think any of his designs are perfect. I can find something to bitch about in all of them.
I do like the energy thing going on with Sonic. There’s never any explanation why Sonic’s so fast, and I’m hoping the movie actually has a reason for once. It kind of makes Sonic like a superhero in a way. Maybe that’s what they’re going for in this version?
Something they barely showed and I want to see more of is the thing Sonic does with the ring. There hasn’t been much use for rings in most Sonic media outside the games (and even the games don’t do much) so it’s super cool when they actually have a purpose. It looks like they’re teleport rings, specifically, which is unusual as rings are usually power boosts.
Honestly, the movie doesn’t have to be good for me to consider it worth existing. Just having unique story elements from other continuities is enough for me.

Hedgehogs quills aren’t even really quills. They’re technically spines.
One of my Sonic Boom fic ideas basically requires Sonic to outsmart most of the characters for the most of the story, and to not get caught doing the bad stuff he’s been doing (until the end). But Sonic is the type of person who rushes into things without a plan and doesn’t think things through, plus he’s not really known for being the most intelligent person, so even though it’s an AU I still worry that it’s not very believable. (Sorry if that made no sense; I haven’t had my coffee yet lol)
I always found that's how Sonic is in even canon story lines. He's not the smartest- no matter how goofy Eggman's portrayed he's still the more intelligent of the two- but Sonic's super clever and quick to react. It also helps that he's very confident. It’s easy to trick people into thinking you belong somewhere and know what you’re doing if you act like that’s the case.
Also, I would argue the other characters can easily be tricked. The hardest to fool would be Shadow, but even he could be distracted pretty easily. And since Sonic is more “villainous” is this universe, he’d have no problem exploiting personality weaknesses to deflect the team from suspecting him. Or, at least, keep them distracted long enough with pranks or something.
I know this question seems really random, but: in the Sonic Boom universe, which members of Team Sonic do you think would be the best or the worst at chess, and why?
Amy would be the best, with Eggman at a close second. Amy’s always seems best at strategy in every continuity and both her and Eggman’s skill were actually on display in the “Fuzzy Puppy Buddies” episode. It seems like a strategy heavy game to me so I can see that transferring to chess.
Sonic and Tails would be in the middle. Tails was shown teaching Sticks how to play chess in “I Can Sea Sonic’s Fear From Here” so he clearly knows how to play. I imagine Sonic would, too. But how good he is likely depends on his attention span at the time.
The worst would be Sticks, who barely knows how to play and wouldn’t follow the rules anyway, and Knuckles, who would forget the rules or just make up new ones because he thinks it would be more fun.

That’s pretty similar to how I thought he was going to look. Personally, I kinda like it! He looks floofy.
I’m so glad they separated his eyes. It’s the one thing about Sonic’s normal design I wish would be changed.
This is my favorite line from this episode. Partially because the caller sounds so close to Sonic that I’m still convinced it’s actually supposed to be Sonic and not a random villager.

So I’m guessing he’s off to kidnap Chris and do.. questionable things to him judging by the stuff on the table. But they wind up having an accident and he’s like “we will now romantically die together” or some shit. That’s all I got out of this video.
Also, Sunstone was very Sonic Says and I love it.
Socially awkward White Diamond is my new favorite.
