There was a moment in the show last night where Dan was talking about his struggle with YouTube about three years ago and how he felt he was being slightly disingenuous by just making videos he thought might get views, so he decided he was going to let more of the real him shine through in both his content and personality.

And it just….hit me, that that was the same time they began to open up about the reality of their relationship. That’s the time when they stopped being scared to so much as touch each other on camera and it’s lead us to here, them being so blatantly adoring of each other in 2018, and basically anyone who thinks they’re doing “phan” for views can suck it.

Another thing I just remembered about the Cardiff show that everyone deserves to know; when the Audience Participation part came around (an inflatable ball gets tossed around the crowd and whoever it lands on shouts out a guess for what’s in Dan’s Secret Box™) one of the people answering was obviously quite nervous, and Phil crouched down on the edge of the stage and in the softest voice I have ever heard in my entire goddamn life, went “it’s alright, it’s fine, just any wild guess, it doesn’t matter”. 

So yeah, this has been a PSA. Philip Lester is a wonderful, kind human being who will make an amazing dad.
