Dancefair Utrecht

At 6 o'clock in the morning, the day began for me today. The goal was the city of Utrecht, where I visited the music trade fair of the electronic dance music in Holland. Waited a long queue in front of the entrance and looked forward to an organized day with many opportunities to learn things about electronic dance music. From the beginner to the professional club DJ producers were all on-site. The intention was to impart knowledge and to learn from each other. I have met many people who, like me, took a long way back, to establish new contacts and to obtain feedback on their tracks. The demo drop sessions offered the direct contact with label owners and artists who are under contract to receive feedback. The feedback was very authentic and gave a different perspective on the own-produced music. A further offer were the master classes, in which many electronic subgenres representatives presented the visitors their work. There are many tips that they gave to the visitors. At the end of the event, because of the  15 year anniversary of the Armada Music Armin Van Buuren trance legend was interviewed. The Interview offered an inspiring insight behind the person of Armin Van Buuren, that he shared with the audience. Instead of glorify himself as a star or icon, according to Armin Van Buuren he showed how self-critcial he can be. The spectators to illustrate its operation, he described his production career as a kind of “suffering”. The Production was a fight with the own critics ever anew for him. The core part of his DJ style is the interaction with the audience. Instead of concepts from other artists to criticize, Armin Van Buuren property remained resistant and turned its attention to its own concept. The primary goal of the artist should be to offer the audience a great show. How to find the place, lying alone on him. It was a very eventful day of which I could experienced much. Um 6 Uhr morgens begann der Tag für mich heute. Das Ziel war die Stadt Utrecht, wo ich die Musikmesse der elektronischen Tanzmusik Hollands besuchte. Eine lange Wartschlange wartete vor dem Eingang und blickte gespannt auf einen organisierten Tag mit vielen Möglichkeiten Dinge über die elektronische Tanzmusik zu erfahren. Vom Anfänger Produzenten bis zum Profi Club DJ waren alle vorort. Die Absicht war es Wissen zu vermitteln und voneinader zu lernen. Ich habe viele Menschen getroffen, die wie ich einen weiten Weg zurück legten, um neue Kontakte zu knüpfen und Feedback zu ihren Tracks zu bekommen. Die Demodrop Sessions boten den direkten Kontakt mit Labelbesitzern und Künstlern, die unter Vertrag stehen, um Feedback zu erhalten. Das Feedback war sehr authentisch und ermöglichte eine andere Perspektive auf die eigene produzierte Musik. Ein weiteres Angebot waren die Masterclasses, in denen viele elektronische Subgenres Vertreter den Besuchern ihe Arbeit vorstellten. Dazu gab es viele Tipps, die sie den Besuchern mit auf den Weg gaben. Zum Abschluss des Events wurde zum 15 jährigen Jubiläum von Armada Music die Trancelegende Armin van Buuren interviewt. Das Interview bietete einen inspirierenden Einblick hinter die Person von Armin van Buuren, der sein Befinden mit dem Publikum teilte. Statt sich als ein Star oder Ikone zu glorifizieren, teilte Armin van Buuren seine selbstkritische Haltung gegenüber sich selbst als Künstler. Um den Zuschauern seine Arbeitsweise zu veranschaulichen, bezeichnete er seinen Produktionslaufbahn als eine Art “Leidensweg”. Das Produzieren sei ein Kampf mit dem eigenen Kritiker immer aufs Neue für ihn. Der Kernbestandteil seines DJ Stils sei die Interaktion mit dem Publikum. Statt Konzepte von anderen Künstlern zu kritisieren, blieb Armin van Buuren sachbeständig und richtete sein Augenmerk auf sein eigenes Konzept. Primäreres Ziel des Künstlers nach ihm solle es sein, dem Publikum eine tolle Show zu bieten. Wie man das anstelle, liege allein an ihm selbst. Es war ein sehr ereignisreicher Tag von dem ich sehr viel mitnehmen konnte. Ich kann jedem, der in dem Musikbusiness arbeiten möchte, empfehlen diese Chance zu nutzen.
