"Did you know there are as many as 7,500 varieties of apples grown all over the world?"
The android's voice cut through the busy film set as she approached Landon, the director and her boss, at his chair. The set resembled a busy highway, people walking fast in all different directions making all different kinds of beeps in the form of excuse mes, and yet she weaved through each of them seamlessly to get to him. In her hands she held his boxed up lunch, as well as an apple of her own. No, it wasn't necessary for her kind to eat, and many androids chose not to eat—but she liked the normalcy that came from having a snack here and there.
"...and that, contrary to popular belief," she said, handing him his lunch, "apple pie is actually not American? The very first apple pie recipe came from England, hundreds of years ago."
Plopping down in the chair beside him, Alice took another bite of her apple and gave him a bright smile. "I made sure to tell 'em just how you like it. You'll let me know if it doesn't taste good, right?" she asked, referring to his lunch.
