Farewell

So I’ve been thinking about this for awhile, and I’ve decided I’m going to discontinue my Tumblr. It’s not that I don’t like it here or that I’m quitting because of anything in particular, just all I’ve ever done on here is post my art which, I feel if I want to get exposure for my artwork, I’d want it on the main website I post my artwork on (deviantART), and it’s just tedious having to post my art in two different places every time.

I appreciate the reblogs, I appreciate the likes. I really do. And it’s been fun being on here but, I just don’t feel like it’s necessary to stay on here when I haven’t drawn all that much lately and as I said before, I’d rather focus on exposure on my deviantART than here.

If anyone still wants to keep in touch and follow my artwork/posts, you can follow my Twitter (@DreamTora) and my deviantART (DreamTora).

I’ll probably keep my account up just incase I decide to come back. But for now, I’m gonna bid adieu. Take care, everyone~

Once upon a time, a young girl who looked up to her older brother wanted to become an artist just like him. She joined deviantART under the name of Cool-cat and started to draw many pictures, no matter how unoriginal or silly they were. As time passed, her artwork evolved, but what never changed was her vivid imagination and passion for drawing. 12 years later, she has come very far and continues to improve her artwork by trying new things and working hard to set herself apart from others. But, her journey, however exciting it has been, is far from over. Storytime aside, I just wanted to make myself a new ID in "celebration" of my many years as an artist and since Sonic was what inspired my art in the past I thought it'd be fitting to have a Sonic-styled Tora.

Happy National Siblings Day!  Thank goodness I got this done in time...it's a bit late but better late than it not being done today at all. Inking this was a pain. First tracing turned out blegh, then the second time I butchered a line and was like NOPE. Third draft Soyo turned out good but Tora didn't want to turn out for me, so I had to trace her seperately because I didn't want to redo Soyo. I love you Tora and you’re my main character but SHEESH. x_x Anyway this is for NiGHTMAREN aka my big brother aka my best gaming buddy. We're very competitive when it comes to video games but overall we're really close and I look up to him a lot. I always have. I love Tora's little tongue. She's so sassy and adorable.

I've faced many hardships My pain flows through my tears But I will never stop trying to be strong As long as my inner flames are eternally burning This idea came to me while I was at my brother's. I actually have a very different sketch of Blaze that I did there, but I was unhappy with it so I redid the entire drawing digitally. Needless to say I like this version much better. I went for a more Studio Ghibli style with the lineart and shading, mainly because I wanted to try something different. The background was just me playing with a scatter brush preset. Oh and, I know Blaze isn't really Queen, this is just how I imagine she would look as a Queen. I imagine her being very beautiful and strong, never letting her inner flames burn out even through tough times. I feel like I can relate to Blaze a lot in that way. This took way too long, but I am very pleased with it. Hope you enjoy.

Dream Refuge Character Profile Tsuyaten Nickname(s): Puma Boy Age: 17 Gender: Male Species: Wild Cat Breed: Cougar Personality: A smug, rambunctious punk who is Keisuke's self-proclaimed rival. His ego is as big as his mouth, and he challenges anyone who stands in his way of a sweet cash deal - and the affection of a beautiful flower by the name of Marie. Deep down he's a softy, but don't say that out loud in front of him unless you want a punch in the face. Family: Neizu and Caira (paternal cousins) Additional Notes: - It's rumored that Tsuyaten dropped out of high school to pursue bounty hunting with his older cousins, but he and Neizu never got along and Neizu eventually had Tsuyaten kicked out of the guild after an argument. It was after this that Tsuyaten and Keisuke tried to start a band together, but because of misunderstandings that didn't last long either. - Tsuyaten's desperation for money is not for greed, but rather because he was cut off financially by his uncle once he dropped out of high school. As his uncle put it, "when you drop out of school you've committed adulthood, so get a job you lazy bum". At least he's got enough decency to still let Tsuyaten sleep inside, albeit in the basement. --- Shading is like breaking up, it's hard to do. *Shot* Bad jokes aside, I'm still rather pleased with how I did with Tsuyaten. He's another character I've grown quite fond of and I feel like his oldschool personality was always the best personality. Oh, and I will be redrawing Marie at some point as well, incase you're wondering who she is or haven't seen her in awhile. Anyway, I've got other projects I've gotta work on, but glad at least I can post this one for now. Tsuyaten is mine. And yes he really is a softy. (Tsuyaten: 'ey! D<)

I have returned

So I just came back last night from my visit to my brother. Had a really good time but the travel back was rough. I'm just settling back home now but I will definitely be posting some goodies I worked on while I was away. Hope you look forward to seeing them!

Since it's throwback thursday and I wanted to scan this in anyway, thought I'd share old concept art of a Sonic fancharacter me and a former RP partner created. This was back in 2010 - 2011 but already feels quite ancient to me. XD; Chances are I will draw Talvi again because I was really fond of her when she was both a Sonic character and a Dream Refuge character. And there's also a chance I might use those other names listed above her and make a family of cats named after seasons. :> Anywho...time to seriously start drawing some new stuff.

Because these two are just too ador(k)able not to draw again. I gave Ruiko whiskers because I keep forgetting that in the DRverse, male cats are supposed to have whiskers as well as the tufts in their ears. I have to keep a memo of that on a sticky note somewhere... This was meant for National Chocolate Day but I'm about a few days too late. Oh well. But I feel like the theme of hot chocolate is still relevant anyway with fall/winter upon us. And having hot chocolate (and sharing a scarf) with someone you care about always makes you feel warm inside. = - v - = (Which is something I can only dream of these days. That feel when...)

Another character I was fond of. She was actually a character that killed off in an RP like Sakura was. Rest assured, that won't happen to her this time. Ariane is the younger sister of Asahi, the guy I posted before. Thought it'd be interesting to have them be siblings. I imagine them having a very close bond.

I was looking at my collection of previous Dream Refuge characters and this guy I actually was very fond of design-wise. So, I decided to bring him back. Originally I was going to make him a seasoned captain of the guards for Uindo but then decided he'd be more interesting as a young adult ninja lad. He might still be partially Maine Coon, maybe a mix. Not sure yet.
