The Guptas ain't gonna take anything away from me

The Gupta family have made a name of themselves here: the family who has the South African president in their pockets and essentially bleeding my home dry through bribery and corruption. Since the publication of The President's Keepers, it seems they won't be staying here for much longer because the local media has exploded with news stories with people wanting our idiot president to step down. I'll admit this has been an interesting year and even the weather has gone crazy; things are happening that I would not expect to happen, like Mugabe resigning from his position because he was forced to.

Anyway, I know it's been quite a while since my last post and I have been busy with a new job position. The dream that I had started out with an old mansion that I found myself in and there were seven brothers living here. I discovered that they were vampires but they didn't try to hurt me or anything. Something happened that caused me to leave the mansion and go home. My fiancé was introduced to the Gupta family and they were trying to do something by the time I got there. I saw a pretty girl who was younger than me and she was openly flirting with my man. I was pretty confident that he wouldn't leave me and I was proven right; he showed no interest in her whatsoever. We ended up talking about it and I felt a lot better about the situation. That didn't stop her and she kept trying to make him leave me.

Random little dreams #2

Okay, I know I haven't posted anything in a long while but I recently left my job for a position that better suited my skills and such. With this new job of mine, I'll be home a lot more because it's a work from home position and I'll be doing a lot more writing and dealing with less people. To be honest, I'm not so much as a people person and having that job where I come across a lot of people, wasn't making me happy. So, today will be the little random dreams that I may not quite remember but still have a little something to write about

Dream #1:

I was a wizard who could control the weather and flew around the country side on a broom just like in Harry Potter. The only reason things got weird was because I began to notice that everything around started to look like it was animated out of Studio Ghibli movie

Dream #2:

I'm a big fan of Kingdom Hearts and I've never played Undertale before but for some reason, I had this dream where the two games got mashed together. All I remember was the beach area of Destiny Islands and there were some characters from Undertale running around

Dream #3:

Until Dawn is a game that I'd like to try if and when I get a PS4. Overwatch (as you might have already read in previous posts) is probably a game where I'd rather get the comics rather than play the game. Now, Overlord is my current obsession until I get over shitting myself in Outlast. I was having a nice hike with my sister on some mountain (think of the mountain region you get to explore in Until Dawn and add a dash of quirkiness from Overlord). We found McCree and took him home with us. I have no idea why but he was hurt was hurt or something. That bastard turned my life upside down and caused so much havoc that I ended up having to go back to my old job to make ends meet

A road trip with the Winchesters

I’ve been watching this series but I just recently finished watching first season and with the changes coming into my life, I had to put my binge watching on hold. I’ll be leaving my current job for a hopefully better one which I’ll admit has given me butterflies in my stomach and I’ll be starting it soon. Anyway, I like myths, legends and stories about cryptids (one of the many reasons why I like Supernatural apart from the Winchester Brothers).

In today’s dream, my sister and I were being chased by some kind of monster. We couldn’t see them or anything but we knew that they were there, watching us. Somehow, we bumped into Sam and Dean Winchester, and they tried to help us by taking us to a church where human trafficking survivors gathered as part of a program to help them get back on their feet and get home. We thought we were safe there but it turned out that didn’t work for us even though we took precautionary measures. Things took an even weirder turn when we discovered that I had a demon baby but I couldn’t recall when it was conceived

The third Overwatch dream I've had this year

Just so everyone knows: I've not played this game, I've only read the back stories of each character. I probably will get it eventually if I keep my eyes peeled in the bargain bins of almost every store that I know sells games. I'm also been staying up late reading all the fan comics and playing Outlast (probably the worst idea I've had all year).

Anyway, Hanzo and Genji were in this dream and they were distantly related to my family in some weird, complicated way (I know for a fact that my family tree is way too big for me to remember everyone's names and how we are related; pretty much like Cassandra's family from Dragon Age Inquisition). I sat listening to Hanzo for who knows how long about killing Genji and his feelings about that particular day. I don't remember much about what happened in between but my sister and I heard that Genji was alive and was at Universal Studios for unknown reasons (maybe he likes rollercoasters too like me). As luck would have it, I just had to wake up before entering the theme park to find Genji.

One awkward Overwatch date

Just so you know: I've never in my entire short life have played Overwatch, the new popular first person shooter by Blizzard. I have my reservations about playing this game because I've played online multiplayer games before and I have had my fair share of really toxic/salty people in these communities and I'm not that great at FPS games (or simply put, I really suck at it). The only reason I would get the comics and other merchandise is because I love the story behind the game and the stories behind each character.

Anyway, this dream has a rather funny ending to it. Who knew that Overwatch were just like every other organization? They had charity balls/events and social gatherings for their agents. Soldier 76, Ana and Sombra appeared at this particular social gathering, but I couldn't say why they were there. They definitely threw a something like a debutant's ball for the younger agents who passed their initiation exams or something like that. I found myself partnered up with one very awkward and young agent who had two left feet. At some point, we had to dance the waltz to Tchaikovsky's Waltz of the Flowers (Yeah, it's kind of weird that I remember this little detail). So we started dancing (very awkwardly) to the music. We were concentrating very hard on the steps we were taught that we didn't notice that the music had finished playing. When we finally noticed that the music had stopped playing, everything else became rather awkward between us and I left to get some coffee. I don't recall how many cups I had but it certainly was enough to wake me up from this crazy dream

Museums and sadness

Went to a South African museum which had a number of pretty awesome exhibits. My family was given an exhibit which was a white Jeep. Somehow it crashed into our house and out of the blue, I started feeling a little sad (like the time I played To The Moon or the time I watched Jacksepticeye play That Dragon Cancer) It’s kind of weird; the previous night I was watching an exposé about South African museums and how poorly they’re maintained.

Random encounters and rewritten stories

There are so many things that have happened in my dreams that make it seem weird and disjointed but it flows into one strange tale. I dreamed that Disney’s Cinderella had an entirely different series of events compared to what actually happened in the story. It all started with stepsisters ripping her dress to shreds, instead of Cinderella running towards the garden to her heart out; she simply shrugs and goes to bed and sleeps for the rest of the night. For some reason, I happened to be a servant in the household and I dragged her sorry posterior end to go see a South Korean boy band concert to spite her stepmother. We came across a fangirl group with one of the singers and one of the girls happened to be an old friend (I haven’t seen this person in a long time since she moved to the US). I’m most likely to give my age away in this post but I felt really old about hanging out with her and this group. I felt that they were too loud and they fangirled at everything this singer did (for example: when he says something cute on social media, they all had the same reaction at the exact same time).

Power Puff Girls were fairies

I know it’s been a while since I’ve blogged about the weird dreams but I’ve hit that snooze button one too many times to actually remember whatever I’ve dreamed about. I have watched the Power Puff Girls whenever there was nothing else to watch on TV, before the wonders of YouTube. I watched it because I like cartoons and anime. I heard some time ago that they did make an anime version of this series and it was like the magical girl genre but never got round to watching it I dreamed that the girls (Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup) weren’t actually science experiments nor girls blessed with magical powers, they were fairies (like the Winx Club… I blame my Cosplay niece about that, she loves the magical girl genre animes). What made the dream strange was the fact that Blossom’s mother (the fairy queen) was trying to make her do horrible things and Buttercup and Bubbles were trying to save her. In the end, it was a futile attempt to save Blossom and she kind of turned into a giant piece of candy

Castle Shenanigans

I woke up feeling like I just couldn't face the world today. I'm not why but I got up anyway because of my job and today's dream didn't help one bit in any way possible. It was one of those dreams that I occasionally get where I sort of wish I could just sleep a little longer and enjoy this little fantasy just for a little bit more. There's another thing that bothers me to no end: it's Monday. Just like Garfield (the comic series by Jim Davis), I especially hate Mondays because Murphy's Law comes in with an entire demolition team to turn my life upside down. Yes, today's the day when everything can and will go wrong for me. If I ever believed in what my spirit animal is, I'm pretty sure it's Grumpy Cat every Monday... Especially mornings because I haven't had my daily dose of caffeine. Anyway, enough ranting about how much I hate Mondays. Last night's dream involves me sneaking into a castle. I don't remember why but I managed to sneak in and I managed to get past a number of guards. I eventually got caught by someone and I ended up working as a spy for the king. I might not remember much but I do recall meeting various characters and they were actually nice to me despite what I did and my reasoning behind my actions (I was a selfish jerk and I can't remember why)

Watching the latest episode of GOT

If you’re a GOT fan and don’t like spoilers, it’s okay; I will not be posting spoilers of any kind. Before I moved out of my parents’ place and started living with my fiancé, it was the show I’d happily watch with my mom and she enjoyed it despite all the nudity and sex. Although, I have missed the past few seasons of it since I moved out and haven’t kept up with it.

Today’s weird dream involves my mom, sister and my mom’s boss who happened to have an awesome TV and surround sound speakers in some room where my mom works. He let me invite some friends over to watch the latest episode of GOT and I could only invite one. So I invited a friend from Cape Town and he was just as excited as me to watch it. The only thing that didn’t make sense in the dream was the fact that the architecture of all the buildings were inspired from Final Fantasy (one of my favourite franchises in the gaming industry). Sad to say but we never ended up watching that episode TT^TT

What trickery is this??

For some people, taking the bus is the only way to get from point A to point B within a certain time frame. Unfortunately, something like that here in South Africa is not always running efficiently compared to other countries that I’ve been to (like Australia and the USA). The public transport system is the one thing I’d avoid like the plague for several reasons. One of them is that they’re always overcrowded and that it no matter where I look; I can not find the right bus to take to get where I need to be. The online bus schedule looks more like one of those manuals with a lot of technical jargon and no matter how many times you read it, you never quite understand it. Another reason would be that the buses have an electronic display that tells you which number it is and which route it goes to (and it doesn’t always work).

Anyway, in this dream, there was a public transport system that was... well... almost as efficient as the Japanese transport system. You buy the bus ticket, you get told which bus stop to wait at and how long you must wait at said bus stop. My sister and two cousins were taking me to the bus station to see me off to my new job. They were excited about my new venture in the world and it felt more like they were seeing me off at the airport. I bought my tickets and my job only started at around 14:15 but I was there at the bus stop at 11:00. What’s even weirder is that they said that they’ll pick me up from the bus station like I’m at the airport. They tell to have a safe trip like I’m going away. Aside from all this, it would be snowing in hell if this ever came true. It seems way to strange for any government department to operate efficiently at that level and I could go on about all the strange events that could happen in the world if it did happen

Random little dreams

I know I haven't posted anything in a while but I haven't had that many random dreams within this week. I'm sorry to have been quiet these past few days but I do remember little random dreams. I've also been sleeping a little less due to my gaming habits. So, without further ado, here are some of the random dreams that I vaguely remember:

#1: I went on a spree with a friend and we blew up everything... in a Deadpool sort of way. We basically caused chaos and mayhem everywhere we went and we had tons of fun.

#2: This dream kind of made me a little sad. My grandmother passed away some months ago after being in and out of hospital. I couldn’t visit her much while she was there because of my working hours. I’ll miss her quirks and the way she trolls us (she trolled us like a boss). Anyway, my entire family gathered for one last family dinner and she was there

Hotels and hidden rooms

I don’t usually have weird dreams every night single night or remember them every day so this has got to be a record. It’s now the second day in a row that I remember something upon waking. I really wish I knew why I keep dreaming about going on holiday because this is now the billionth dream where I’m at a holiday destination or something. Perhaps my subconscious mind is trying to tell me something or I’m getting really stressed out at work for no reason.

Anyway, today’s dream involves a really expensive, five-star hotel which my family decides to hold their reunion (on a side note: my family is big but I barely know anyone else from beyond my grandparents’ generation on both sides of it). We’re having a great time at this place but my sister and I decide to explore the hotel and we’re told that there was a hidden treasure hidden very well within it. Somehow, we ended up finding a series of hidden passages which all led to a room. We also got hold of the original plans of the hotel and the intricate details of each room. What we discovered was that there was a hidden room and there was no direct access to it but through the hidden passages. We eventually found the correct passage to the room and found a princess (she looked like Chang’e from Smite except she was wearing a red version of her original dress). She explained why she was there and revealed a bit of history of this grand hotel which was a typical fairytale; her father wanted to find the right suitors for his only daughter and they had to prove their wits in finding this hidden room. We had a bit of an awkward moment there seeing we found it together and who would marry her because I’m not male either. In the end, we escaped from the room and introduced this princess to modern technology

Cats, games and gaming events

I like cats for various reasons and one them being is that some of them understand the concept of “I need my space”. If I had to choose between getting a dog or a cat, I’d rather get the cat. I also have a love for games especially role-playing games; it helps me to escape the monotony of my life and I get this satisfaction that if it were my real life, there would never be a dull day. But since it’s a Monday, I kind of wish I was still in bed. I mean who really wakes up and thinks “Oh joy, it’s Monday! Today’s good day!”?

Anyway, I worked in a lab where they research better treatment options for skin disorders on pets. The lab techs were working on better treatments for mange on cats , so there were two of them with a really bad case of it. I came across a skittish cat that followed me everywhere and I tried to socialize it with people and other pets. At the end of the day, it didn’t like everyone else except me and it wanted to go where I went even if I left the lab. Somehow, I ended up organizing a fundraiser for the lab and I held the event at one of the many cons that happen here in sunny SA (I think it was ICON but I’m not exactly sure; that part of the dream became blurred out of my memory). There were games that were hyped up over the course of the year and for some reason, Ubisoft teamed up with another studio to create this mashed up game of Just Dance and Singstar (weird but anyway, it was a fun game for a reason I can’t remember). I remember buying this game and I went home where everything in my house was just white. It sort of reminded me of Kingdom Hearts

Frog hunting with friends

Ok, I know it’s been a while since I last made a post but being a gamer does that to you. My latest addiction is Dragon Age Inquisition because I really enjoyed playing through the previous instalments but I digress.

So this dream, I went on an adventure with a friend (no, she didn’t pitch up at my place in wizardly robes and offer to take me with) and said she needed to find a specific creature. A frog but not just any frog. It was called a tree leaf frog and they were easier to find in Autumn because they look like fallen leaves. I can't recall the reason why, but it was weird enough to go looking for them. So we looked in the murkiest pools of water and wandered into caves to find them, and she was happy when we found them. They looked kind of cute in a weird sort of way but they were nasty like sea squirts; they regurgitate their intestines when threatened. Unfortunately for me, one of them did just that and I ended up struggling to get it off
