First it was non-stop fae, now it’s ever-growing mushroom hats AND fae… 🍄🌧👒

🏘🍄 “What’s Growing?”, June 11 2020 🍄🏘 . . The last few weeks have been hard on a personal scale for me, and I’ve been sketching a lot to get feelings down, but haven’t been adding color to the outlines– so I doodled and watercolored this gal in an afternoon to get moving again. She represents a lot of those feelings for me– what’s growing? Is it moldy? Is it placid?

🌹☁️❤ Here’s something a little different for today! 🖤 Swipe to see the full size, the original cover, and a blurry progress drawing before Teacher got his hair ❤☁️🌹 I did a re-draw of a cover from my favorite ever manga: The Girl From the Other Side: Siúil, a Rún, by Nagabe! The Girl from the Other Side is a quiet, dark fairytale with some of the most genuine and ethereal art. Each volume has a magical cover, but volume 2 with Teacher and Shiva on the dock felt right for the moment! If you’d like to spend your afternoons with something creepy, atmospheric, healing, and absolutely adorable, I couldn’t recommend these two sweet characters and their journey more 😊

🌙🌊☁️ “Belisama” outline– April, 2020 ☁️🌊🌙 . . Finished the first edition of this lovely water goddess (named after Belisama, a Celtic goddess of rivers, lakes, fire, and light). Now onto (eventually) digitally coloring her! ☺

🧙🏽‍♀️🌙🐸☁️ “The Sorceress”, April 2020 ☁️ 🐸🌙🧙🏽‍♀️ . . I drew this on old watercolor pad packaging during a random afternoon last month, after finding a hidden cutie in my Halloween 2017 doodle page. I really like using any random blank spaces/left-over cardboard/packaging for canvases and the backing for watercolor pads is perfect! The glitter and gold paint reflects so differently in shadow and light. ☺🧙🏽‍♀️🌙

Finally finished this gal with her head in the clouds (and rainbow) 😊 I started her in September of 2017 and just put the last little details on her after going through my art organizer! Done with Posca paint pens, some Staedtler fine-tipped pens for detail, and two sugar sprite stickers from the greatest Totoro sticker pack 💖

Finally got my drawing tablet working for the first time in many, many moons! Made this sweet, intergalactic gal dripping with starstuff. 🌙💧🌟

I finally finished my sea witch, Sirène, and her menagerie of oceanic friends! I first sketched and glittered her in 2016 or 2017, I believe, and just completed her details 😊 Done with colored pencil, Posca paint pens, watercolor, gel pens, highlighters, and a little dusting of magic kelp (glitter!) 🌊⭐☁️

I'm so pleased with how my fungi princess turned out! I'll probably post some color edits since she also looks lovely in green, stark black, and blue ❤ Done with various Sharpies and my best friend, the mechanical pencil ❤
