Katie shook her head at his words, “No, I wouldn’t miss anything. If we time it how I think we can, everything would be perfect.” she said, looking up at him. “Look, soccer season ends next week. If I get pregnant sometime soon after that, I’ll give birth over the summer, which means I’ll just be pregnant when I’m in my classes. It’ll be born around June or July, then with the season and school not starting till August, we’ll still have a little time. Recovery time won’t take that long either, remember? I was back on my feet not even a week after giving birth to Sophia.” she said, looking over at him as he laid next to her, sitting back up and shaking her head. “But, whatever. If you don’t think we’re ready, we won’t. It was just a suggestion.” she said, standing up and walking out the door, towards the kitchen.

Drew listened to Katie. She made some good valid points but he was still hesitant. They were still young, did they really need another kid? Still, Drew loved the idea of frisky time and baby making required that. Drew watched as Katie left the bedroom and headed out to the kitchen. He looked over at Sophia who was still sleeping. "Want a brother or sister, Sophia?" Drew said aloud, standing up and following Katie into the kitchen. "I want to have another kid." He said honestly.

Seeing Drew spit his water out, Katie almost immediately regretted her decision to tell him. She should have known he didn’t think it would be a good idea. “Because I do.” she said gently, shrugging her shoulders. I just think that soon would be the best time if we do decide to do it.” she said, looking up at him. Katie laid back on the bed, looking up at the ceiling as she rolled her eyes. “Please explain how me having a baby would ruin college. Having a baby would ruin soccer, which is ending.” she said, closing her eyes momentarily. “Besides, it was just a suggestion.”

Drew sighed, Katie obviously wasn't thinking things through. "Babe, if you have a baby, if we have a baby..." He wasn't sure how to mince his words. "You give birth, you are set back from college. You miss at least a year, maybe more. You miss out on soccer. A pregnancy takes a very long time and then you have all the recovery time after the fact." Drew laid down next to Katie. "I'm not opposed to another kid, it's just I want whats best for you."

"Don’t worry, you’ll get your frisky time." Katie joked, looking up at him. Katie’s face fell slightly, at first not realizing that he was joking but then realizing it. "And no, it’s not a divorce either." she said, offering a small smile. "Before you say anything, think about this. We’re more financially stable then we were in Toronto, and with Sophia not being in school or anything, we don’t have to worry about that. And with the season closing for the year, I don’t have to worry about soccer…" Katie said, looking down slightly for a few seconds before looking back up, her eyes meeting his. "I want to have another baby."

Drew nodded his head, "Thank God, no divorce." He stuck his tongue out at Katie. He reached over to the nightstand and grabbed his bottle of water. Drew took a sip, listening to his wife as she spoke. When she mentioned wanting to have another baby, Drew spit the water out and onto the floor, almost choking himself. "You, you what? Uh, why?" He was confused, "You're in college, don't you realize this would ruin that?" Drew's expression turned serious. It would be almost impossible for her to continue going to college with one child and one on the day.

Katie chuckled slightly at his comment as she went back to their bedroom, taking a seat on her side of the bed. She watched him as he came in and sat on the bed, asking if it as frisky time. “No.” she said, with a small chuckle. “Well, not yet at least.” she said, straightening herself out on her bed. “I will tell you, what I want to ask you has something to do with that. And it’s kind of a big question and it’s okay if you say know, I’ve just been thinking about it for a while and I thought it would be time to ask you.” she said, looking up at him.

Drew sighed, "No frisky time..." He mumbled under his breath, slightly disappointed. "Wait, not yet..." Drew's eyes looked over at Katie, a smirk appearing on his face. He listened intently to Katie as she spoke. "Are you going to ask me for a divorce?" Drew asked, joking around a bit. He felt like whatever it was Katie was going to ask, was something serious. Drew waited for Katie to speak up, wondering what she was about to ask him.

Katie placed a gentle kiss on the top of Sohpia’s head as she laid her down for her nap, pulling a small blanket over her. She made sure the baby monitor was on before she left the room, closing the door gently and making sure not to slam it. Katie looked out into the living room and saw Drew. “Babe, come back here real quick I want to talk to you.” she said before she turned around, heading back into their room and taking a seat on her bed. Katie had been wanting to have this talk with Drew for awhile, and new that now was the time for them to discuss it, whether he wanted the same thing or not.

Drew was watching television, apparently a hurricane was headed for the coast. He wasn't used to this sort of weather, hurricanes rarely impacted the Greater Toronto Area. Drew sighed, knowing the old tool shed was in danger. He figured that he would most likely need to work to weather proof their apartment. Drew looked up, "I'm coming. Real quick." He said teasingly as he jumped up, thinking it might be frisky time. Drew rushed into their bedroom and sat down on the bed. "Frisky time?"

Katie chuckled at his words, getting set out near the penalty spot, setting the ball down as she took a few steps back as she waited for Drew to get ready. “You were close, that’s all that matters.” she said sounding supportive, as she looked at him. “Just bring it lower.” she joked, pushing the thought away as she focused her attention back on the ball.

Katie chuckled, raising an eyebrow. “Well, you asked for it.” she joked, looking down at the ball before taking a step forward, increasing her pace. When she had enough power, she whacked it into the top right corner, just barely out of reach of his fingertips. Katie smiled seeing that it went in, doing a small celebration to herself.

Drew watched as Katie prepared to kick the ball. He could tell that it was going to be a high kick and did his best to deflect the ball with his fingertips but they didn't come into contact and the sound of the ball hitting the back of the net confirmed that she had scored a goal. Drew stood up and dusted the dirt off his shorts. "My turn." He said, grabbing the ball and trotting out to the kick line (?) 

Drew waited until Katie was set. "Listen, I'm going to score this time." He said, a little on the cocky side though he was saying it all in good fun. Thinking for a moment, Drew wondered how he should angle the kick. The last time failed, though he thought if he could knock it off the side of the post, it might drift in. Drew got set and then kicked the ball hard, giving it enough spin so that it would hit the bar and hopefully go in, out of range of Katie's hands.

Katie smirked at his words, tightening the gloves onto her hands as she walked over to the net. Katie finally got both gloves set on her hands, positioning herself in the middle of the goal as she got ready for Drew’s shot. Katie bent her knees slightly, ready to jump to wherever Drew’s shot would go. She knew that he usually liked to go out of her reach, which meant that he would either play it high or he would play it low in the back corner. Katie laughed slightly at his words, “Ready when you are.” she called out, watching as he took a few steps back to prepare himself.

Katie kept her eyes on the ball, trying not to be intimidated by how hard he would hit it or how far he would run before he kicked it. Katie watched the ball as she noticed Drew running, jumping on her toes lightly as she was ready to go wherever need be to save the ball. As he kicked it, she saw it going up and knew it would be hard to save it. Katie thought it was going in until she heard a ding, knowing that the ball had hit the crossbar. Katie smiled to herself, shrugging her shoulders as she began taking the gloves off. “Good try babe.” she said with a smile.

Drew dug his cleats into the turf. His goal tending gloves wrapped tightly around his wrists. He nodded his head, "Not good enough or else it would've went in" Drew replied back, his eyes focused on Katie. He knew that the odds were likely that she would drive the ball into the net. Soccer wasn't Drew's strong spot. He had dedicated most of his time to football and basketball though he did play some soccer with Katie every now and then. 

"Bring it, babe." Drew called out, waiting for Katie to deliver her kick. He made up his mind about how he was going to play this. With his hands on his knees, Drew crouched, ready to pounce left or right to deflect the kick. If the kick was low, he knew he could block it.

With Sophia in the care of a trusted babysitter, Katie was glad that her and Drew were able to go out and have a day to themselves. They didn’t get this often, and it would be a good time to give Katie a little bit of training before she officially started practicing for the school year. Katie unbuckled her seat belt quickly, smiling as Drew opened the door for her. “Yep, here we are.” she said, looking out over the field, knowing that it wouldn’t be long until she was blowing balls into the back of the net in front of crowds of people.

As they walked down to the field, Katie smiled looking at the net, as Drew took the balls and the gloves out of the bag. “Oh yeah, that’s totally why you would lose.” she said with a smirk, winking her eye. “Um, you can go first if you want.” she said, walking over and taking the goalie gloves, placing them on. “Don’t go easy on me.” she said smiling, leaning up to kiss his cheek.

"Oh, I won't go easy on you babe." Drew said as he tossed the ball up in the air and caught it. A smile appeared on his face when Katie kissed his cheek. He made his way over to the line and laid the ball down. It was a bit windy which Drew figured might work to his advantage. "You ready?" Drew called out, taking a few steps back.

Drew's eyes were focused on the ball, not Katie's location in the goal keepers box. He trotted up to the ball and kicked it, angling it towards the right side upright. However, a loud cling noise indicated that his shot had been rejected, not by Katie but by the bar of net. "Damn it..." Drew said, walking over to grab the ball and tossing it over to Katie. "Your turn."

Drew grabbed the bag out of the back of his car and walked around to open the door for Katie. "Well, here we are. You're school's soccer field." Drew began to walk towards the goalies net. "So I guess we'll do a shootout or something? Uh, I don't know how good I'll be. It's been awhile since I've played so if you win, that's um, that's why." Drew said, clearly making excuses. He knew Katie was better than him at soccer. It was her sport after all.

"So babe, you want to kick first or me?" Drew opened the bag and removed two soccer balls and some goalkeeper gloved. With the force behind Katie's kicks, he wanted to make sure his hands had adequate protection. Sophia was at the babysitters so this was there chance to finally enjoy some time to themselves.

Katie laughed slightly when Sophia dumped the cold sand on her stomach. She looked over at Drew as he laughed, her smile growing wider. “She totally did!" she said, turning back to Sophia. As Sophia played with Drew in the water, Katie began trying to build another sand castle, only resulting in it falling back to the ground. Katie gave up, setting the bucket back on the ground, turning her attention back to Sophia and Drew, who were playing in the water. Katie laughed slightly, her smile growing wide as she saw Sophia laughing. As Sophia began kicking around the water again, Katie smiled to herself. “We have the cutest daughter ever, don’t we?" she asked, turning to Drew.

Drew nodded his head before standing up. He walked over to where their stuff was sitting, bending down to pick up a few sandwiches and some animal crackers out of the cooler. He walked over to Katie and kissed the top of her head before handing her a sandwich. He then proceeded to hand Sophia some animal crackers, a smile not leaving the babies face. Drew sat down next to Katie and took a bite out of his sandwich, enjoying the precious time that he got to spend with them.

Katie laughed at Drew as he said it was cold. She tried to turn away from him as he splashed water on her, but it still ended up on her back and caused a shiver to run up her back. She helped Drew wipe off some of the dirt that was on his chest, before turning back to Sophia and helping her build up another sand castle. Before Katie had a chance to think, Sophia had dumped a bucket of dirt on her stomach. Katie’s mouth fell open at the exposure to the cold sand, quickly trying to rub it off of her and back on to the ground. Katie grabbed Sophia around her waist, quickly bringing her into her lap and kissing her cheek lovingly. Katie put her back on to her feet on the ground, watching as she began kicking the water around.

Drew laughed loudly when Sophia dumped dirt on Katie's stomach. "She got you!" He said, still chuckling to himself. He watched with a bright smile on his face as Katie kissed Sophia and brought her into her lap. "Sophia, like the water?" Drew called out as his and Katie's precious daughter began to splash the water around before falling down onto her butt. "Opps, someone fell over." Drew said in a playful voice as he began to tickle his daughters belly before helping her back up to her feet where she began to kick the water yet again.

Just after the wave knocked down Sophia’s sand castle, Katie began helping her build another, her intent to make this one even bigger than the last before another wave came and knocked it down. “Oh please, you’ll get over it." she said playfully as she leaned closer to his face, before pulling away smiling. As Katie helped build it back up, she made sure Drew was looking away before she turned to Sophia and whispered in her ear. “Go dump this on daddy." she whispered, handing her a small bucket of dirt as she watched Sophia walk over to him and dump the dirt all over his chest. Katie laughed slightly, as Sophia began to giggle at the sight of Drew laying under the cold dirt. “Is it cold?" she asked Drew with a small smile on her face.

Drew watched as Sophia took the bucket of dirt from Katie. The toddler walked ever so slightly until she was facing her father. Drew couldn't help but laugh when Sophia dumped the dirt all over his chest. Sophia's giggle caused Drew to smile brightly. "Yes. Very, very cold." Drew answered Katie, playfully splashing her with water as Sophia returned to the sand area and began to try to build yet another sand castle.

Katie smiled when Drew splashed down into the water just after Sophia splashed him, making sure that she wouldn’t pass him. Katie followed just behind Drew and sat down, the water hitting her back side and sending shivers up her back. “It seems a lot colder today." she said as Sophia began playing in the sand just in front of her parents. Katie brought some of Sophia’s sand toys with them and grabbed them out of the bag, bringing them back down to Sophia. Katie scooped some sand into the small bucket that she brought. Katie was helping Sophia build a sand castle when a waved came up and knocked it over, splashing Katie and Drew with more cold water along the way. “Oh no, what happened?" she asked Sophia with a smile, shrugging her shoulders. Katie bit her lip mischievously, looking over at Drew as she splashed him with more cold water, causing a laugh to escape her lips.

Drew watched Sophia enjoy her time in the water. He wondered just what the baby thought of the great ocean that they were now sitting on. A smile formed on his face as Katie and Sophia began to play around in the sand. As he watched, a wave came out of nowhere and demolished their sand castle. Sophia seemed a bit upset by what the wave had done. Drew shivered a bit as Katie splashed him with water. "Babe..." He whispered, pouting a bit. "It's too cold for that!" Drew would get Katie back eventually but for now he was content watching Sophia play around on the beach.
