SHAUN OF THE DEAD (2004)
I'll make sure to get one just in case as well
My Genesis shrine is at a completion point for now! I finally have one side of my bedroom done! My room used to be two bedrooms but we knocked down a wall between them, so I decided to plaster one whole side with the five most incredible guys on earth. I have one more logo painting that I'm working on, but I'm starting a new job tomorrow that's going to take up a lot of my free time, so this is where we rest for now. Thoughts?
Genesis: Trespass (1970), Nursery Cryme (1971), Foxtrot (1972) - artwork done by Paul Whitehead
These album covers are so good... Trespass is my favourite, it's just so beautiful and has such a great, almost renaissance Italy vibe...
On these albums the delicate guitar passages and beautiful pre-synth keyboard sounds blend together with quintessential english music and humour, folksy bits, twisted tales, ridicolous and dark fables, sci-fi and mythology inspired lyrics...
Let's not forget when James fell down and John just came laying right beside him!!
Yeah what the hell, I'm uploading my cover of the cover of Dream Theater's Parasomnia
This took me 3 days straight of painting 24/7. I was SO obsessed with this that I barely ate or slept LMAO
But I'm pretty proud of how it came out!! I had JUST seen Nosferatu at the time and I was really inspired by that art direction and color grading for this one!!
ENDLESS NIGHT
It's purely amazing, beautiful!
Would you throw out your grandma?
Yeah, you read it right. Would you throw her away just because she's old, uh? That's what i thought.
My point is that even though dream theater, genesis, all those bands are old, you can't just throw them away for some new kpop stuff! I sound a tiny bit desperate, and it's okay right? Anyone who can't find people their age that like their music is a bit desperate from time to time.
So keep that in mind: if you don't throw out your grandma, you don't throw out 'old' music (especially these masterpieces).
THE SHINING
1980, dir. Stanley Kubrick
I think he likes a little too much his joke.
Here's what i do at night, mom !
I'm mad because i'm batman.
When i get out at night, i never forget my sharks.
It was snowing while i was watching you sleeping,
When suddenly you woke up, you silly little [f]uck,
So i ran through your wall, forgetting that i'm not immortal.
I'm mad because i'm batman.
I always put eggs under your pillow.
But when i forget i walk to your shadow,
Stab it with my slicy butter knife,
And hope that you have a wonderfully odd life.
I'm mad because i'm batman.
The city needs me so justice i shall give.
Even though i very much love Christmas eve,
I can't let myself laugh and joke around
Because Gotham must have me at all times.
