Workout selfies. Love my pants!
Officially under 200 lbs!!!
I never thought i’d see 199 on the scale again, but this morning i did!! Im so proud of myself for never giving up. For going to the gym when i felt like staying home, for choosing fruits to snack on instead of junk, and for believing in myself despite all the doubts in my head.
Ive lost 33 pounds so far and i dont intend on quitting yet!
Yayyy! Congratulations! Hard work pays off!
SHOUTOUT!!! 🙌🏼
Here’s another workout guide for you guys!
If you feel lost everytime you get to the gym try writing down the workouts you want to do based on the muscles you want to work, this will help you be more time efficient at the gym.
Dont forget to have fun 😘💪

Don’t forget where you started and how far you’ve come.
Here is me today vs 9 months ago. It’s a fun process and I’m enjoying the journey. Weight training is really helping my strength and I’m happy with how it’s all going.

Today I struggled through one of those rough days. Like I’ve made no progress at all. One of those ‘not enough’ days. It’s hard to feel like you’re not doing enough; like you’re just not enough. But I put these pics side by side and compared the difference a year makes.
-the girl on the left wouldn’t dream of running a mile. the girl on the right can run obstacle runs and 10k’s. -the girl on the left was quick to take a rest day while the girl on the right doesn’t know what to do with herself if she doesn’t make it to the gym. -the girl on the right is confident. AND has quads! -the girl on the left never dreamed she would be the amazingly strong and capable woman on the right. 💜
Approx 30lbs difference
I’ve not been active on here lately, mostly because i work 12 hour shifts now and i would usually update and post on my dinner breaks but now i dont have time.
I have been doing really well diet wise. With working such long days i have to prepare two meals, one is usually a pasta mug/cous cous/savoury rice/jacket potato and the other is fruit and cereal. I snack on fruit all day at work too. Dont get me wrong i still eat treats but i dont see them as a biggy.
My last weigh in was last week and i was 67.5 kilos, so ive lost another couple of pounds which is nice as i havent been consciously trying to loose weight. As well as being on my feet and constantly moving at work i have been walking home regularly and hiking, and i try to aim for using the exercise bike once a week at the least.
I want to tone my stomach and get my lower abdomen tight, but ab workouts are hard!
Im going to try and get back into posting on here, its great to look back on.

Transplanted Interneurons Can Help Reduce Fear: Mouse Study
The expression “once bitten, twice shy” is an illustration of how a bad experience can induce fear and caution. How to effectively reduce the memory of aversive events is a fundamental question in neuroscience. Scientists in China are reporting that by transplanting mouse embryonic interneurons into the brains of mice and combining that procedure with training to lessen fear, they can help to reduce the fear response.

A meta-analysis of genome-wide association studies (GWAS) has identified six loci or regions of the human genome that are significantly linked to personality traits, report researchers at University of California San Diego School of Medicine in this week’s advance online publication of Nature Genetics. The findings also show correlations with psychiatric disorders.
“Although personality traits are heritable, it has been difficult to characterize genetic variants associated with personality until recent, large-scale GWAS,” said senior author Chi-Hua Chen, PhD, assistant professor in the Department of Radiology at UC San Diego School of Medicine.

The non-permanent appearance of happiness and distress, and their disappearance in due course, are like the appearance and disappearance of winter and summer seasons. They arise from sense perception, and one must learn to tolerate them without being disturbed.

Neuroscientists May Have Identified the Seat of Human Consciousness
After analyzing 36 patients, a third of which had brainstem lesions, a team of researchers led by neurologists at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center has pinpointed the regions of the brain that may play a role maintaining it.
Based on mapping the injuries of the patients with lesions, the team found that a small coma-specific area of the brainstem—the rostral dorsolateral pontine tegmentum—was significantly associated with coma. Using that information, they identified other parts of the brain that were connected to the coma-causing lesions.
“For the first time, we have found a connection between the brainstem region involved in arousal and regions involved in awareness, two prerequisites for consciousness,” said Michael Fox, HMS assistant professor of neurology at Beth Israel Deaconess. “A lot of pieces of evidence all came together to point to this network playing a role in human consciousness.”
Their findings, which have already garnered multiple awards from the American Academy of Neurology, were published Nov. 4 in that society’s journal, Neurology.
