A new.... or rather lost soul is returning to the beach - @brinnygetsstabbed

As ever, Cladaí Folmh is quiet. The waves beat rhythmically on a rocky shore, the moon hangs full in the pitch-dark sky, and the houses on the hill flicker with faraway light, as if remembering a time when the living stoked their hearths.

In her little house on the strand road, Saibhe is resting peacefully— until her killer-sharp hearing catches the sound of footsteps on flagstone and shale grit. Slowly, she heaves herself up, drawing her spear to her side and gently rowing herself outside. Who’s there?

Tired eyes look out to the sea. It’s such a mocking thing, but in the same way it’s beautiful. Brin wonders if she could swim back to her old life, if she tried hard enough. The bitter chill of the wind says otherwise.

Sighing, the girl sits down leaning back on a dry rock, staring to the sky and that lamplike moon.

“... It felt good, killing him.” She finally says, tone unsure, “I felt like a god, fire all around me... I can’t-” She pauses, struggling with words, “Why do I want to do it again?” She can’t possibly know that Saibhe will have an answer, but she hopes. That’s all she has left, is hope.

Saibhe pauses for a moment, thinks on the question. It’s not an easy thing to answer. “Were we in the living world, I’d say it as something of the Devil, a temptation,” she begins, slowly. “Here, I j-- ...I think you needed to know you were safe. I think... He deserved it. Used t-to be I would never think th-- think... I wouldn’t say that. But I’ve known cruelty, a little like yours...” She sighs, her cadaver’s face staring out across the waves. “You took something back from this place.”

Saibhe turns to regard Brinley, expression solemn and kind. “Would you do it to anyone but him? There’s a q-- ...I might as well ask. Don’t be scared to answer.”

But what he did is still written on her face.

The beach is nice; Brin doesn’t immediately see the killer rowing in the air towards her, and when she does? She hardly bats an eye, her exhaustion already soul-deep. Nothing changes in her expression, other than a glimmer of hope in her dull eyes. Seeing someone new is good.

“... hi.” The girl says, toeing at the sand, “I’m... I’m Brinley. Do uh... Do you remember me?”

Saibhe feels something twist in her gut as the survivor makes eye contact with her. Brinley. Of course she remembers. Seeing her here again brings a rush of things, all at once: confusion, dread, hope.

Broken lips quirk up into a smile, showing the barest hint of long, thin teeth below. “Hi. I remember, yes, you…” There are more scars now, aren’t there? That cut across her mouth has something glinting in it now. “I-it’s nice to s— You… you escaped again?”

God it’s so nice to be remembered. Brin feels the echo of a smile on her face, knowing at the very least she wasn’t forgotten.

“... I burned him to death. I burned it all down.” Saying it out loud makes it feel real, and it brings so many emotions bubbling up to the kid’s head, “I’m out. For good.” Brin sighs, eyes falling to the ground, glossing over already, “... I guess I just needed to be somewhere calm for a bit.”

She’s still angry. Brin still feels the burn of wrath in her chest. Why? He’s dead. The monster is buried under smoldering rubble. She won, so why is she still so upset? She doesn’t really know what to do with it.

Saibhe gasps, eye wide. She killed him… There’s equal parts horror and glee in hearing that. Horror, because a child should never have to take a life, even here— Glee because she deserved to.

“God… So you’re free.” Saibhe manages to at least keep her composure (the mask helps), nodding slowly. “That’s wonderful news, I’m s… -s— I’m so happy, so happy for you,” she continues, letting herself drift to the ground so the survivor doesn’t have to look up at her and gently— if allowed— reaching out to rest a hand on Brin’s shoulder. “Be here a— As long as you want, dear. This place won’t see Trial for a bit yet. If I can help with anything, I’m here, a-as well.”

Nodding, Brin stiffens at the touch, soon sighing to let the anxiety wash away, “... Uhm, thanks. Me too.” She is happy that it’s over. She knows she is, but all she can feel is the burning desire to do it again. To kill again, to be a god again. It’s more bitter than sweet.

The kid fidgets with her hands, despite how unpleasant it is- the scarred and rough texture always invades any sensation, even now, with bandages covering them.

“... I’m gonna go sit at the shore, if uhm... You wanna follow.” Brin offers, putting her hands in her sweater pockets, “I could use some good company.”

“If you’ll have me, sure.” Saibhe nods, withdrawing her hand and starting to haul herself through the sand and shale with her spear. For as heavy as her entombed body is, she makes fairly quick headway. The waves lap placidly at the shore, never seeming to pass an invisible line. The Siren idly reaches a hand down to feel the water-- freezing cold, as always.

She doesn’t say anything for a while, both unsure of what she could say and more than happy to sit in a silent moment. If Brinley needs anything, she has to trust that she’ll say so. She’s a strong girl.

“Shut up.”

Saibhe’s glamour has burnt away like flash paper, a look of barely-contained rage behind that placid half-mask and staring, yellow eye. “I’m not listening to you. Jordan will……. Tell the truth, and then I’ll gut that pig.” Any more messages that appear in the house are immediately put to the hearth fire.

The lights are dimming in the corners of Saibhe’s vision. Let this be a trick, please let it be.

…She’ll wait for Jordan. Ask her, and if it’s true? She’ll visit a fair reckoning on that lowly hog.

“—Pardon?” Saibhe sits forward, reading the note again with a furrowed brow. “What exactly do you m— ……mean?” She knows Jordan was summoned for another ‘job’ with that pig-headed torturer, which she’s as unhappy about as usual. But… Well, she understands these elements separately, but together they fit odd. “At least if she’s d— if she’s dead, then she’ll be back soon.”

Oh god if this is about…. Have the notes been bothering her too? Jesus fuck this is not good, not good- well it’s complicated, but Jordan is gonna play dumb until she knows exactly what’s going on.

Jordan is perfect. Not even for a second does she try to fight the overstimulation, simply crumbling under Saibhe’s ministrations. It’s absolutely beautiful. Eventually, after many interminable minutes spent in a haze of mutual, frantic pleasure, Saibhe pulls away, retracting her tongue for the last time and savoring the taste of her partner. Now that it’s all been done, she can’t help but feel… proud. Proud of what she’s done, not mortified (not yet, anyways). Her smile breaks into a gentle laugh, the hungry stare leaving her once-again-emerald eyes, and she settles herself down next to Jordan on the bed. Simply snuggling up and reveling in some closeness after so much pleasure and pain.

After minutes of non-stop pleasure, Jordan is effectively reduced to nothing. Her eyes are glossed over with bliss, half-mast and a little loopy, a lopsided grin plastered on her face- at some point she was simply fucked silly.

And then it stops, and the nomad is able to feel the climax slowly fade away in such a satisfying manner. After all of that? She’s gonna be feeling the ache tomorrow, but that’s the least of her worries. Distantly, she hears the soft laugh of Saibhe taking in the sight of Jay absolutely wrecked. Breathlessly, the humor is shared, a pleasant buzz still gripping the nomad’s bones.

Jordan gets clingy after sex, and in this particular instance, she is very clingy, worming her way closer to Sai, wrapping her arms around her, and melting where she lays, cuddling up to her girlfriend.

More laughter comes as Saibhe finds herself pulled into a cuddly hug, turning to her side and giving Jordan a little kiss on the cheek. “Are you alright?” she giggles, before her tone starts to slip towards embarrassment. “I, ah... Well, y-you told me n-- T-to, to not hold back... T-that was a lot, I said a lot, th-- Y-- Uh, yeah. That. Thank you,” she finally manages, wincing at her own awkwardness.

Jordan chuckles at the word ‘disrobing’, settling down and giving Sai a mischievous look. It sucks so bad that she wouldn’t get the joke ‘paint me like one of your French girls’, because Jay is really goddamn tempted at saying it. Instead, she goes the sweeter route, “I’ve been ready. Don’t worry, you can’t hurt me, Sai.” She offers some gentle reassurance, “I’ll be more than okay. Just have fun.”

There’s a surprising amount of genuine anticipation bubbling up in the nomad’s chest, like a roller coaster slowly ascending to it’s peak. This is going to be amazing.

She nods, shedding her cotton shirt and letting it fall to the floor– her body’s somewhere between ‘willowy’ and ‘unhealthily thin’, nothing she would consider particularly beautiful. She wastes little time in pulling herself to Jordan’s side, though, leaning down and starting to tug her lover’s clothes off with almost impatient force. And oh… Jordan is beautiful. She can’t help but spend a moment simply admiring her body, smiling. “Goodness, y-you’re beautiful,” she breathes, and then there’s that sharp grin again, slowly spreading across her face. “And to think, giving it a-all to me…”

A quiet laugh escapes her, and she leans in close, letting her hands roam across Jordan’s sides and core, touches feather-soft, then abruptly harder before melting away again. She gives Jordan one last kiss, then drops her head to her chest, breath ghosting against skin as she lets her tongue out again to slowly drag across the survivor’s chest. She’s going to drag this out just a little more, see what she can get from her dear.
