The small ghost appeared in front of Tim, just barely out of arm's reach. "I'm only here to say I'm really really reaaaally sorry..."
Tim frowned a little, but the frown faltered when he saw the bruises on BENâs face. âWhat happened to you?â
Tim was motionless as his eyes looked around the room. Slowly he shakily sat up, wincing a little. His gaze moved to BEN and stayed there, staring at him. He seemed almost confused as he looked the small ghost over. After awhile Timâs hand reached up for something to hold onto, finding the side of the TV center. He had difficulty with pulling himself up, stumbling a little, but finally was able to stand with leaning against the wall.
The small apparition watched him for a minute, afraid to help in case touching him caused any more problems. "Tim..?" BEN rubbed his right arm with his left hand and sighed, not making eye contact.
Running straight through Alex's door, BEN practically jumped at Alex with a panicked noise, hugging him as tightly as his thin ghost self could. "I don't know what to do!" the kid managed, speaking quickly with a small whine on the last word. The poltergeist looked up at him, the bruises and swelling on his face only adding to his fearful expression.
And to think today could have been a peaceful day⊠Alex sighed and looked down the the ghost kid, hesitantly patting at his head. âUh..itâll be alright?â Consoling people definitely wasnât his strong suit. He couldnât even bring himself to be concerned for the guy right now either though. The proxy was still rather mad about having to be a fox again after all so other peopleâs problems werenât really a priority of his. Couldnât hurt to try though. âWhat exactly happened anyway?â
"Sometimes, wellâŠ. usually. But I can still be around it without it bothering me." The poltergeist sighed at the thought of his own death. "At least I donât chain them down to the bottom of the lake or anythingâŠ"
"I really donât see how you can stand that still." Alex muttered before having to raise an eyebrow at the latter half of what the ghost said. "You got chained to the bottom of a lake? How?" Because that wasnât insensitive at all.
"Oh, well, I'm pretty sure that maybe that happened after I died, since... well it sounds silly. Maybe it's just how it felt and so my actual ghost form..." For a moment his form changed. He had the same hollow eye sockets, blood flowing from them, but also had water flowing from his mouth and nose and shackles on his wrists and around his neck. Lengths of chain hung from the metal cuffs. This visual lasted only a moment before he changed back. "--reflects it because it's how I thought it felt."

"Hmmm," he replied, allowing himself to sink into the couch as he thought about something they could do aside from that game. âWe could go to the park..?â
Alex glanced over at the kid and raised an eyebrow at his strange actions. Ghosts sure are weird. He scratched at his head as he contemplated the idea. âUhâŠdidnât going to the park end terribly last time though?â TO showed up didnât he?
"Oh.. rightâŠ" The glitch sank farther into the couch, then teleported to the back of the couch. "Uh⊠maybe we can go to the lake probably? I mean to walk around and stuff. Not swimming."
Again, that teleporting thing could be really fucking disorienting sometimes. Regardless, Alex turned his attention to where the ghost was now and gave him a rather skeptical look. âYouâd actually be fine with going near water?â
"Yeah. I mean, I drown people sometimesâŠ" BEN shrugged, not really realizing that he hadnât told Alex that heâs only afraid of water sometimes. The main reason for not saying anything was so he didnât confuse him.
"Doesnât that bother you at all though?" Alex knew he used to carry a knife around but it always bugged him to have it so he ended up just getting rid of it altogether. Now he just gets to make sure no one gets near his damn neck. Save for Timâfor the most part anyway. "I mean, doesnât it just remind you of when you died?"

Tim frowned a little, but the frown faltered when he saw the bruises on BENâs face. âWhat happened to you?â
Tim was still out cold, but his hand had let go of the pan as the last of the electricity went away.
BEN was all but freaking out. He knew that heâd broken his promise, and that Masky was sure to find out shortly. The little ghost tried to shake Tim awake and whispered reassurances to him, hoping that he wasnât dead.
There was a small sound from the front of the living room- a door being pushed open. (Even more than it already was since the door was never closed.) There stood a shocked and furious entity looking down upon the scene. "WHÒat̶ ÍHApÌąpeÒnedÍ?!"Ì Masky was fuming as he stepped over to BEN glaring down at him. He held himself back not wanting to jump to conclusions. Tim and BEN were still friends and for all he knew Tim couldnâve had a seizure, but that wasnât the likely case.
The ghost-child whimpered when Masky approached him, his elf ears flattening against the sides of his head. Deciding to preface his answer with the full story, he looked away, a faint red glow in his empty eye sockets. âWâŠ. well⊠|-|e hi+ me w it h a hea\/y pan⊠and I sorta shocked hi /\/\ in $e l f de /= enceâŠâ A pause, then the glitch sighed. âIâm sorry⊠I was n t gonna hurt him⊠I was play ing most l y⊠bef°re tha tâŠâ
Masky tried to remain calm as he looked down at Tim. He couldnât be dead. If he was Masky would have felt their connect break. Looking back to BEN Masky balled his fists. "ÒWÍHy DÌI̶d HÌšEÍĄ ̶HIt YÍOuÌą?"There had to be a reason. Tim wouldnât just hit someone without a reason.
"Cuz I told him I was evil and wouldnât leave when he said. But he knew I was evil, I told him before! I donât wanna be or mean to but I am and itâs not fun when Iâm not being mean and please donât hurt me, I didnât mean to!" The ghost covered his face with both hands and whimpered. All of the electronic habits and unintentional glitching seemed to be gone; in fact, BEN seemed very much like a normal child at that moment.Â
Masky listened to BENâs explanation. But, oh, he was not going to fall for the stupid ânormal kidâ trick. "ÌĄIF IT ÌšWÍAÍsÌš ĂNÍ AÌ”ĂciÌdÍeÌžnÌšt,Í TÍĄHeÌąnÍĄ Ì·WHyÍą DIÌždÍ nâÌt ̧YÌ”Ou LÍEÌžave ÌWH̶en HÄ AÌąSÌkÈ©dÌš?Ìž"ÌĄ
"I was just trying to be a little mean and I wasnât gonna hurt him, all I did was stay on the couch! He hit me though and I didnât mean to do anything back I just did and I donât know how and I didnât wannaâŠ" He uncovered his face and looked up at Masky, wiping at the blood under his eyes for a moment. "Honest."
Masky groaned softly. He needed to heal Tim before any further damage was caused. "JUstâŠJUst LEave.." He hung his head and dropped to his knees in front of Tim placing a hand on Timâs forehead.
BEN hung his head also but for a different reason. He felt really bad about how he had reacted but wouldnât anyone retaliate if they were attacked..? The poltergeist made himself invisible but watched just to make sure Tim was okay.
Masky knew BEN was still there but decided against acting upon it because he needed to help Tim. With a deep breath, Maskyâs body seemed to dissipate, and disappear completely. Timâs body jerked almost violently and his eyes shot open, one black and blue and one brown.
The ghost couldn't help a small gasp at that. It was truly amazing, if not just a little spooky. Who was he to talk about spooky though. BEN quieted himself and watched from where he was.
Running straight through Alex's door, BEN practically jumped at Alex with a panicked noise, hugging him as tightly as his thin ghost self could. Giggling at his hair being ruffled, BEN reached up to fix his hat afterward and tilted his head at the other slightly. âWe should try to play a game! Maybe like⊠Pictionary!â
Dear god his mood sure changes quickly. And here I thought my mood was ridiculous. Well, it still was but irregardless. Alex rubbed at the back of his neck. âIâm not really good at games orâŠdrawing for that matter but sure I guess?âÂ
"Iâm not good at drawing either!" he exclaimed with a giggle. "Thatâs the fun of the game. I know you can play though!" He nudged Alexâs arm with his shoulder and tilted his head at him.
He chuckled, nudging the other back. âWhy do you say that? Because I have shitty drawings all over my room?âÂ
"Yeah! Thatâs exactly why. I donât know what some things are but I know you can draw trees!" BEN giggled again and hummed softly.
"Thanks for the blatant insult." Alex chuckled, choosing not to further the part of what exactly it was that he was drawing. He was surprised that BEN only knew the trees though because from what heâs said before, he knows what TO is. Or rather who it is anyway. And itâs a little hard to mistake some weird faceless creature that wears a suit. What the hell is that suit thing all about anyway? If he could, heâd probably ask him but for now, pictionary apparently. âUhâŠso what exactly do we need for this game?â
"Yep!" he replied with a giggle. Of course he probably had noticed TO but had no interest in remembering he had. So of course he only remembered the trees. "All we need is paper and something to draw with!"
He scratched at the back of his head as he thought about where they could get paper or anything like that. âUhâŠI think I mightâve used all the paper up actually.â His floor and walls were covered in shitty drawings after all and it seemed like he ran out of paper after a while too since it was carved into the walls and his arm too. Not so much his arm save for the one symbol but still. Iâm fucking insane. "Are you sure thereâs nothing else we could do?"
"Hmmm," he replied, allowing himself to sink into the couch as he thought about something they could do aside from that game. "We could go to the park..?"

"I thought so! That way⊠um⊠something cool happens! Yeah." He nodded as if he knew exactly what he was talking about, then yawned. The yawn caught him off guard, since honestly he wasnât used to such things, what with not needing to breathe. It even seemed to scare him almost. Afterward he simply shook his head a few times.
Yeah he should probably ask what they were talking about because âcoolâ could go any way when it comes from a psychotic ghost child. At least, thatâs what he was going to do before the damn kid interrupted him with a yawn and then a rather frightened looked. Alex tilted his head in curiosity to the reaction. âWhatâs wrong with you this time?â Probably a little rude but seriously, this guy seemed to have a thousand fucking problems for being a ghost. Being dead should be the only one pretty much.
When Alex asked him what was wrong, the glitch shook his head. âI donât even have to breathe, why would I yawn?â Letting that question be the only thing he said, BEN blinked and looked up again.
Of course it was something dumb like that, why wouldnât it be? Unfortunately, Alex couldnât find it in himself to ever willingly be mean to the kid so he sighed, having to piece together a decent response that wouldnât be too rude. âWhatâs so scary about that? I mean, maybe you just did it out of an old habit or something.â Seemed pretty reasonable anyway.
"Maybe thatâs it! I mean. I ate things once and that was something a ghost isnât normally supposed to do so maybe yawning is like that?" It made perfect sense in the ghostâs head, so why not? BEN nodded matter-of-factly and grinned.
Wow, that actually worked. It was just a shot in the dark since really, he knew absolutely nothing about ghosts, but apparently he did? At least, he managed to fool one if anything? Regardless of his doubt and shock, Alex smiled and ruffled BENâs hair again. âExactly, so nothing to worry about then. Just old habits wanting to come back.â
