Abadah Ibn As-Samit narrated, the Messenger of Allah (صلی اللہ علیھ وآلھ وسلم) said: He who does not respect our elders, and does not have mercy on our children, and does not honor our scholars, is not of my Ummah. (Ahmad Ibn Hanbal; At-Tabarani; Al-Hakim; Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani) 

We understand from the above quotations from Quran and Hadith that it is critical for the Muslims to be extremely careful before spreading any news without proper research, especially when it relates to a scholar of Islam. Besides, disrespect of a scholar is a major sin.  Unfortunately, there are certain people and groups who have been regularly making propaganda and spreading false information about Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri. They are usually his political opponents or those having difference of opinion with him on theological matters. But, instead of rebutting his points logically, which they have been unable to do, they continue resorting to character assassination and creating misunderstandings about his personality. They usually remain successful only to an extent because most people are not in the habit of doing any research and instead jump to conclusion by only reading/watching limited information. 

In this blog, we are sharing with our readers, some facts to clarify some common propaganda and rumors being spread about Dr. Qadri hoping that this could help clarify many misunderstandings. We also invite our readers to do research before reaching any conclusion. 

Here are some of the rumors we are clarifying in this blog: 

In early 1990s, Lahore High Court had ruled that Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri staged a drama of firing at his own house and assassination attempt on him, for which he blamed other political parties.

Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri says that (MaazAllah) interest is halal for Muslims living in Canada or West as published in a local newspaper.

Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri can be seen celebrating Christmas by cutting cake along with Christians in a YouTube video but this is not allowed in Islam.

Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri settled in Canada several years ago and did nothing and now after many years talking about ‘change’

In one YouTube video, Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri is seen asking a dead person to recite ‘Kalma’. This thing (MaazAllah) is not allowed in Shariah

Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri suddenly started to be called himself as ‘Shaykh-ul-Islam’ whereas no one gave him this title

Either foreign governments or agencies support Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri and his organization otherwise how is it possible that Minhaj-ul-Quran could spread all over the world and arrange highly successful programs.

Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri promotes his (MaazAllah) false dreams to the public.

Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri made contradicting statement about Blasphemy Law in English in the international media as compared to the points he made while addressing Pakistanis in Urdu.

In a video it is clear that people are doing sajda to Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri and he is not stopping them for doing so.

Dr. Qadri achieved nothing from the Long March.

Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri had applied for the Canadian immigration in 2008 under the name Abdul Shakoor Qadri following threats from banned outfits and Dr. Qadri also took social welfare financial benefits in Canada.

In one picture Dr. Qadri is shaking hands with a lady, and in another picture Dr. Qadri is meeting Pope.

Those who question where were Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri and Minhaj-ul-Quran during floods and earth quakes. Such people seem to be ignorant and obviously seem to have no information or concern of what has been going on with the relief works during natural disasters in Pakistan and have no information of what organizations are doing such relief work. Anyone or any organization actually involved in the relief works in Pakistan definitely is aware of all the massive efforts of Minhaj Welfare Foundation (MWF), a social welfare wing of Minahj-ul-Quran during all natural disasters, as MWF is one of the main stream non-profit organizations working for the relief works and other social welfare projects. For those who are not aware of such efforts, below is a brief introduction to MWF and its recent activities during natural disasters.

Is casting vote a sin under the current circumstances in Pakistan?

Casting vote in itself is not a sin, it is in fact our social, moral and even religious duty to do so. But we need to understand that it is under the current circumstances, it would be a sin. Why? because by casting votes we would be supporting the status quo and the corrupt system. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri very strongly raised voice against the corrupt system. He demanded reforms in the electoral process and demanded that Articles 62 and 63 of the constitution must be implemented. Had Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) honestly implemented the Articles, it would have hold corrupt from contesting elections and provided opportunity to good people to come in power. But ECP and judiciary of Pakistan made joke of Articles 62 & 63 and made way clear for all the corrupts to contest elections. Moreover, current system openly allowed and is still allowing pre-poll rigging. There are many other such factors due to which it is very clear that from within this corrupt system, no good people could come in power, even if elections kept on occurring for 100 years or more. From this system, without reforms, same corrupt people would keep on getting power. After gaining power, whatever corruption they would do, voters would be responsible because they would have supported the system and helped them come in power. 

One might question that how would I be supporting the system if I voted for the good person and not the bad person. To answer this, let's ask another question. Did any of us gave vote to certain corrupt individuals who are or were in power (e.g. a high profile person who is famous as Mr. 10% all around the world), may be not but it was the system that gave power to such individuals. So irrespective of whoever we voted now, we would be supporting the system. That is the reason Dr. Qadri is guiding people to reject this system by not becoming part of it.

It can be concluded by listening to these clips that same corrupt people would come in power if we supported the current system by casting vote and becoming part of it.

  Our vote has three pronged status: Shahadh (evidence), Shafa'a (recommendation), and Wakalah (advocacy or representation in common rights). Under all three conditions, voting for a good and deserving person brings great reward the fruit of which bound to reach voters. Similarly, voting for a person undeserving and uncouth is a false evidence, unjustified recommendation and impermissible advocacy all in one. So the evil fruit of his thoughtless voting shall stand recorded in the voter's log of deed.

  When you are voting to an individual, you are voting to the system. How? When a person is elected by your vote, he sits in the parliament, and the parliament makes up the government. And the government runs the system. And imagine how our votes will be going to the system that has never been reformed.

  What should we do on polling day?

  Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As: When we were around the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him), he mentioned the period of commotion (fitnah) saying: When you see the people that their covenants have been impaired, (the fulfilling of) the guarantees becomes rare, and they become thus (interwining his fingers). I then got up and said: What should I do at that time, may Allah make me ransom for you? He replied: Keep to your house, control your tongue, accept what you approve, abandon what you disapprove, attend to your own affairs, and leave alone the affairs of the generality. (Abu Dawwud in al-Sunan: Bk.: al-Malahim [Battles], Vol. 4, pg 124, #4343)

  If we support the unreformed and corrupt system, then what would happen to us?

  Narrated Abu Bakr: You people recite this verse (Sura al-Maida, verse 105) "You who believe, care for yourselves; he who goes astray cannot harm you when you are rightly-guided," and put it in its improper place. Khalid's version has: We heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: When the people see a wrongdoer and do not prevent him, Allah will soon punish them all. Amr ibn Hushaym's version has: I heard the Apostle of Allah (peace be upon him) say: If acts of disobedience are done among any people and do not change them though the are able to do so, Allah will soon punish them all.  (Abu Dawwud in al-Sunan: Bk.: al-Malahim [Battles], Vol. 4, pg 122, #4338) (Tirmidhi in al-Jama: Ch.: Tafseer al-Quran, Vol 5, pg 256. #3057) (Ahmad bin Hanbal in al-Musnad, Vol 1, pg 2)

Propaganda: During long march, unlike other people, why Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri remained in a bullet proof container?

Quran and Hadith guide us that whenever there is a need, one must take appropriate security measures first, and then do the tawakkul on Allah (SWT). For reference a portion of a Quranic verse, and one Hadith is being quoted below: "...they should (also) hold on to their security measures and retain their weapons (persistently). The infidels want you to become neglectful of your weapons and other means of defense and that they may launch a sudden attack against you." (Quran, 4:102 part) "One day Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) noticed a Bedouin leaving his camel without tying it and he asked the Bedouin, “Why don’t you tie down your camel?” The Bedouin answered, “I put my trust in Allah.” The Prophet then said, “Tie your camel first, then put your trust in Allah”" (Al-Tirmidhi). At the time when Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri announced for the long march, there were confirmed security threats against his life. Even federal interior minister of that time repeatedly announced those threats publicly. For the very reason bullet proof container was arranged. During the long march it proved also that it was a very right decision that such security arrangements were made. During the first night of the long march itself there was an attempt of attack on the life of Dr. Qadri and certain individuals did firing on his container. Had he been not in the bullet-proof container, anything worst could have happened. For example, heart and brain are the most important organs in any human body. Not all parts of the body are given the same level of protection by our creator, the way He has given protection to the brain and the heart. Brain is protected under a hard skull, while heart is surrounded by the strong ribs. The reason is that these are they 'key' parts of any human body. If brain or heart got injured, human being can expire instantly. However, if any other part of a body gets injured, person can still survive. Propaganda: Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri achieved nothing from the Long March.

Those who may be wondering what Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri achieved from the Long March and the agreement with the Government in its current status. First, it needs to be clarified that Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri never intended or claimed that he would bring a revolution overnight or in a few weeks.  Besides, revolutions do not occur in a matter of few weeks. There needs to be a consistent struggle.  In fact, just the agreement was not meant to bring about a revolution; it was to be the beginning of a positive change.  The main purpose of current struggle had been to bring about awareness in general public and to initiate a process of positive change. Here are a few things what Dr. Qadri achieved from current struggle:

·         People are now fully aware about articles 62, 63 of the constitution whereas very few knew about it before. Now, people know what to expect from the candidates and hence they would demand that election commission scrutinize the candidates properly.

·         People are now aware that constitution itself requires a Government to provide basic necessities to the public and it is not a favor by any political party rather, it is their duty.

·         People are now aware that election commission was not formed per constitution and consists of members who are biased. Other honest politicians have also started talking about it.

·         Govt. agreed to implement Sections 77 to 82 of the Representation of Peoples’ Act 1976 and other relevant provisions relating to conducting free, fair, just and honest elections guarding against all corrupt practices. Not many in the public were aware of this before.

·         Govt. agreed to implement Supreme Court Judgment of June 8, 2012 on constitutional petition of 2011 in Toto and in true letter and spirit. Before this no one was even aware of this.

·         Scrutiny period has been increased to 14 days. This is again the beginning of a big change. Now at least Government agreed to make this law; if Dr. Qadri had not shown flexibility, Government may have totally ignored it.

·         The four day peaceful protest by hundreds of thousands of people demonstrated to the world that the people of Pakistan are very organized and peaceful.

·         People learnt how to do a successful peaceful protest; prior to this there was no concept of such huge peaceful, yet successful protest in Pakistan.

·         A huge gathering on 23 Dec and then a peaceful long march demonstrated to everyone in Pakistan that people wanted change and that they can come out on the streets to demand it.

·         The four day consistent sit-in and patience of hundreds of thousands of people was highlighted by international media and sent a strong message to the world. With this, the politicians are now aware that such protests could occur again too if they did not perform their duty well.

·         People are now aware that certain big changes need to occur at our highest courts as well; previously people had thought of some of them as heroes.

Propaganda: In early 1990s, Lahore High Court had ruled that Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri staged a drama of firing at his own house and assassination attempt on him, for which he blamed other political parties.

This is yet another propaganda by the opponents of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. Unfortunately people don’t do any research and just jump to conclusion. Following are some of the facts that can clarify the matter. It is followed by a video clip of Dr. Qadri summarizing the matter in response to a question during a recent media interview.

  In the early 1990s Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri’s political party Pakistan Awami Tehreek was emerging as the third force in Pakistan’s politics. His opponents were so afraid of him and his party they started all kind of negative propaganda against him that mainly included false character assassination as they could not otherwise counter any of his logical statements. Dr. Qadri’s popularity kept on increasing. His political opponents were so worried that they finally decided to take extreme measures. On April 21, 1990, they assembled an attack on his house in an attempt to assassinate him. During the assassination attempt, security guard of Dr. Qadri fired back at the assassins which injured one of them. On April 30, 1990 a one-man administrative tribunal, headed by Lahore High Court Justice was constituted to investigate the matter. Investigation was launched by the local police in which people of Minhaj-ul-Quran also cooperated in collecting facts. Several facts and evidences were collected. One of the evidence included discovering dead body of one of the assassins that was earlier injured and later buried in a local grave yard. Blood sample of that person exactly matched with the blood found outside Dr. Qadri’s residence where that person had got injured due to the return firing by his security guard. All the whereabouts of that person were located. Based on all the facts it was becoming very clear who was involved in the attack. Collected facts and twelve witnesses were presented in front of Justice. All the facts were clearly pointing out towards the culprits. When Justice was about to conclude the case after several weeks of proceedings, it was clear that decision will be against some of the key people of the Govt. of Punjab of that time. Those who were to be affected after the decision, used their influence and started troubling Justice in various ways. They troubled him too much and put a lot of pressure on him. As a result Justice refused to continue as a head of the commission and this is what they wanted.

  On July 14, 1990, they appointed their own preferred Justice for which Dr. Qadri and his party protested and demanded that original judge should be brought back for the completion of the trial otherwise they feared mistrial. But Govt. ignored that demand. At this point the new Justice stated that earlier proceedings were dismissed and had to be started again from scratch. Upon this Dr. Qadri and his party boycotted and withdrew from the proceeding saying that was totally unacceptable. Dr. Qadri stated to the Justice that he did not accept this and that he would now take justice in the Allah’s court. Case continued unjustly without Dr. Qadri or any of his representative and was presented again from scratch. It was all just one sided proceeding. Wrong facts and fabricated witnesses were presented. Earlier collected evidence and statements of the witnesses were ignored. This all resulted in a decision against Dr. Qadri. Certain biased newspapers particularly highlighted the story. Dr. Qadri had already communicated publicly that it was a mistrial and conveyed his stance again. After this instead of spending energies on this matter where there was no chance of any betterment due to the influence of the corrupt Govt. of that time, Dr. Qadri left the matter to Allah and ignored to take any further action and concentrated on his other good work.

Propaganda: Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri can be seen celebrating Christmas by cutting cake along with Christians in a YouTube video but this is not allowed in Islam.

It is very unfortunate that some of us have a bad habit that we jump to a conclusion by just seeing a small clip or picture and reading small comment by any semi-literate person, and don't do our own research to find out the truth even if it involved any of our ulemas. 

  It is very critical for Muslims to be very careful when concluding something about ulemas, especially those like Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, who have been regarded as one of the most high profile scholars in the World. He has been doing a great amount of work for the Muslim Ummah. He is the writer of several hundred books on various aspects of Islam. Dr. Qadri has been regarded as one of the highest authorities in Islam by Several Islamic scholars, institutes and organizations of Indian Subcontinent and Arab World. Just as an example, Al-Azhar University Egypt regards Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri as highest of the authorities in Islam and has endorsed many of his books, and has declared his Minhaj-ul-Quran University as equivalent in educational status to Al-Azhar University Egypt. Can we think that a person of such a caliber could do anything publicly that would be against Shariah?

Propaganda: Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri says that (maaz Allah) interest is halal for Muslims living in Canada or West as published in a local newspaper.

It is a bad habit for many of us that we are very quick in believing on the news stories or rumors and don't feel any need to do our own research. The is one of the biggest problems of Muslim ummah of today that we have not learnt to do research on any religious or non-religious matter. That is one of the key reasons we are way behind from the World developments. This lack of research also causes us to develop misunderstandings and we keep on fighting with each other on minor issues. 

  Some local newspaper printed a totally baseless and false news that according to Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri (maaz Allah) interest is halaal for Muslims living in Canada and Western countries. It is unknown why the newspaper printed this totally baseless statement. This could be either they had misinformation or had bad intentions (Allah knows better). 

  Those who know Dr. Qadri, knows very well that he was the only scholar who fought publicly on a very large scale against the legality of interest based banking in 1990s and challenged the belief of the Government of that time that interest-free banking may not be practical. He not only declared that interest-free system is very practical in today's World, but provided a detailed structure of the interest-free banking system. He conducted huge conferences and rallies against interest based banking system. Propaganda: Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri settled in Canada several years ago and did nothing and now after many years talking about 'change'

Some people have been asking why Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri left Pakistan and settled in Canada. Let’s examine here what caused him to leave Pakistan and what have been his activities during this time away from Pakistan.

  After resigning from the National Assembly Dr. Qadri was disappointed with the parliament and the current political system. At that time itself he started raising voice against the corrupt system as it was obvious from his several paged long resignation in which he explained the reasons why he left parliament. He pointed out all the problems and the points he raised were similar to what he is saying now. But question is why he did not started his struggle against the current system at that point itself. The reason is at that time people still had hopes that newly elected government may be able to deliver so he wanted to give them enough time so that later they may not have said that they did not get sufficient time. 

  Now question is why he left Pakistan and moved to Canada? 

  Dr. Qadri sb. is one of the leading scholars in Islam of this time and has written and has been writing several books on various topics of Islam. As Qur’an is a guidance till the day of judgment, Dr. Qadri considered a need for a translation and tafseer of Qur’an that should reflect Quran’s guidance for our modern day problems. At the same time he realized that all the available books on the interpretations (Sharh) of Hadiths, although were excellent and organized to provide solutions to many problems, those were written hundreds of years ago and many issues and problems we face in the modern era for which Hadiths should have provided us a good solution were not being addressed by those existing Sharh books. It was just simply because our salafs who wrote those Sharhs did not experience those issues/problems in their times. Dr. Qadri felt a grave need to go through the volumes of Hadiths and organize them under new headings and write their interpretations so that solutions to modern day issues/problems could be available to Muslim ummah.

  Another mission of Dr. Qadri was to highlight the true picture of peaceful Islam to the World which was ruined by the terrorist activities of some extremists. Many people of the World started bracketing ‘terrorism’ with Islam. Dr. Qadri wanted to eradicate this wrong image of Islam. For which he planned to write a comprehensive Fatwa against terrorism and suicide bombings.

  Yet another mission of Dr. Qadri has been to eliminate misunderstandings between different sects by bringing them closer. He wanted to highlight common points between the sects so that besides few differences of opinion all should respect each other. 

  Above mentioned are few of his projects out of many that he wanted to work on. All these were huge projects and needed a lot of uninterrupted literary work and dedicated effort. For example, as now he has completed Hadith work, he researched and analyzed hundreds of thousands of Hadiths, organized them and written Sharh of them. This work itself ended up in the compilation of 30+ volumes of Hadith books. 

  When Dr. Qadri started above mentioned work in Pakistan, he was continuously being interrupted by numerous invitations of lectures from all over Pakistan. He is such a kind person that he could not say no to the people but as a result he was not finding enough time to complete his literary projects. During this time his health got deteriorated and needed regular treatment from abroad. Considering these facts he finally decided to move to Canada and settle there to undergo his treatment and concentrate on his literary works. 

  Now the point is to see what he achieved during his stay. Here is the summary of some of his main achievements during his stay out of Pakistan:

  • Completed renowned Qur’an translation titled ‘Irfan-ul-Qur’an’ that has alhamdolillah become one of the highest circulated Qur’an translation of today.

• Completed 30-volumed Hadiths compilation containing collection of several thousand Hadiths and Sharh of Hadiths addressing modern day issues (this book is still under the process of being finalized for printing).

• Started working on Tafseer and this work is still being done by him.

• Completed World renowned book “Fatwa on Terrorism and Suicide Bombing” that clarified many misconceptions about Islam and that book became one of the most popular books defending Islam’s stance on terrorism.

• Travelled around the World (USA, Canada, Australia, UK, Europe, India, Egypt, Turkey) and delivered lectures highlighting Islam’s message of ‘peace’ at high profile Universities and Forums as well as at Parliaments of the countries. He clarified Islam’s stance on extremism to Muslim and Non-Muslim audience. Based on his contributions, Minhaj-ul-Quran was awarded special consultative status by the UNO.

• Upon the invitation of World Economic Forum (WEF), he attended DAVOS conference and delivered his message. He was the first Pakistani scholar who was ever invited by such a high profile organization. 

• Organized historical ‘Peace for Humanity’ conferences in London and New York which were attended by several thousand plarticipants, both Muslims and Non-Muslims

• Historica visit to several cities of India where millions attended his lectures that promoted message of love, peace. He was the first ever Pakistani scholar who was given such a historical welcome.

• Historical visit of Egypt and lectures at Al-Azhar University.

  We can very well see that all his achievements have been remarkable and may not have possible had he stayed in Pakistan. All these items during short span of living abroad show a person of full dedication and struggle with special focus to revive whole Ummah and especially Pakistani Nation. Also the organization he is leading has network in more than 90 countries. It was critically needed that he visited those networks and promote the message of Islam. 

  So before anyone thinks and say that any person who left Pakistan is not honest to Pakistan then think about Quaid-e-Azam who moved to UK and stayed there before his return back to India to lead Muslim Ummah towards an independent nation. 

  Finally, this is also per Sunnah of Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as he migrated to Medina and then returned to Makkah with full victory.

Propaganda: Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri suddenly started to be called himself as 'Shaykh-ul-Islam' whereas no one gave him this title

The first person to award the title of “Shaykh ul Islam” to Dr Tahir ul Qadri was al-Mu`ammar Hadrat as-Sayyid Ghulâm Rasûl Shâh Khâkî of Chakwâl (Pîr Khâkî Shâh Sâhib) who had died at the age of 130 years! He awarded this title before 1994 when he passed away. He was a direct student of Imâm al-Hind Mawlânâ Shâh Ahmad Ridâ Khân al-Barêlwî and was among the main khalîfas (spiritual successor) of Naqîb al-Ashrâf Sayyidunâ Ibrâhîm Sayfuddîn of Baghdad. He also had association with Pîr Shâh Sharafuddîn, Khawâja Muhammad Qâsim Kiyânî Moharwî, Sayyidunâ Mihr `Alî Shâh Golrawî, Hâfiz Khawâja `Abd al-Karîm [`Îdghahî], as-Sayyid Jamâ`at `Alî Shâh [`Alîpûrî], Yahyâ Qalandar, Mawlânâ Amjad `Alî Ridwî, Mawlânâ Kifâyatullâh Dehelwî and Mawlânâ Anwar Shâh Kashmîrî. He would give the title of “Shaykh-ul-Islam” to Shaykh Tahir-ul-Qadri and desired only for him to lead his janâza prayer. The Shaykh-ul-Hadîth of The Minhaj University, al-`Allâma Muhammad Mi`râj-ul-Islâm (direct student of Hadrat ash-Shaykh Muhammad Karam Shâh al-Azharî – quddisa sirruh) narrated directly (mubâsharan) that he heard ash-Shaykh as-Sayyid Rasûl Shâh Khâkî say:

“mujhe HaDrat ghawth a`Zam sayyid `abdul-qâdir jîlânî raHmatullâhi `alayh ne Hukm diyâ he ke logo kô batâdô ke muHammad Tahir-ul-qâdrî shaykh-ul-islâm hê!”“Hadrat Ghawth A`zam Sayyid `Abdul-Qâdir Jîlânî ordered me to tell the people that Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri is Shaykh-ul-Islam!”

He then sent a flag to Shaykh Tahir-ul-Qadri with the following written on it: “Shaykh-ul-Islam Professor Doctor Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri”. This flag was gifted by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri to Shaykh-ul-Hadîth al-`Allâma Muhammad Mi`râj-ul-Islâm who still has it among his possessions. The above has been reported by abundant witnesses amongst whom is the son of as-Sayyid Rasûl Shâh Khâkî, as-Sayyid Mahmûd-ul-Hasan Shâh Khâkî who writes in his book “Tadhkira e Khâkî”:

“Hadrat Pîr Sayyid Rasûl Shâh Khâkî bestowed upon Professor Doctor Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri the title of Shaykh-ul-Islam after putting into consideration his services for the Dîn. He would often say that ‘Professor Sâhib’s service to the Dîn is exactly according to the times which is the need of this era. He is working exactly according to the Sharî`a... He is striving for Mustafawî Inqilâb.’ He further said, ‘If someone is not supporting Professor Sâhib, he should at least not oppose him.’ He futher added, ‘Finding someone with his capabilities and perfections is difficult. In truth, Qadri Sâhib’s [[murshid]], Sayyidunâ Tâhir `Alâ’uddîn Qâdrî’s special blessings (khâS naZar) are upon him due to which his work is increasing.”(Mahmûdul-Hasan Shâh Khâkî, Tadhkira-e-Khâkî, Section 3)

Dr. Qadri was given the title of “mujaddid” by his own murshid, the head of the Qâdrî Tarîqa, Qudwa al-Awliyâ’ ash-Shaykh as-Sayyid Tâhir `Alâ’uddîn al-Gîlânî al-Baghdâdî (quddisa sirruh). Ash-Shaykh Ahmad az-Zubaydî of Syria who is from the family of Sayyidunâ al-Imâm al-A`zam Abû Hanîfa (radiyallâhu `anhu) reports that he personally heard Sayyidunâ as-Sayyid Tâhir `Alâ’uddîn al-Qâdrî al-Gîlânî referring to him as “Mujaddid (Reviver of Islam)”. Ash-Shaykh az-Zubaydi is a leading scholar whose father’s standing was such that he was known as Abu Hanifa as-Saghir. Propaganda: Either foreign governments or agencies support Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri and his orgnaization, otherwise how is it possible that Minhaj-ul-Quran could spread all over the world and arrange highly successful programs.

This question is also asked by certain people and they simply accuse Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri without any research or evidence simply based on rumors or assumptions.

Propaganda: Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri promotes his (MaazAllah) false dreams to the public.

There are thousands of recorded lectures and hundreds of printed books of Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri out of which most of them are available online to listen and read. Although these lectures and books cover several aspects of Islam, none of them has any reference to any of his dreams or basharaats, yet there are some propagandists who highlight the dream matter as if it is one of the main topics of his lectures and books. Unfortunately, we the Muslims have a habit of not doing any research and relying on the rumors only. 

Having said that, on a few occasions, Dr. Qadri has mentioned about some 'basharaat' to his close associates that was perfectly per Sunnah.

  Now let's see what Islamic Shariah teaches us about basharaat (Dreams):

Here are few Hadiths from Sahih Bukhari:

  The Prophet (صلی اللہ علیھ وآلھ وسلم) said, “Whoever has seen me in a Dream, then no doubt, he has seen me, for Satan cannot imitate my shape.” (Bukhari Vol. 9, Book 87, No. 123)

  The Prophet said, “Whoever sees me (in a Dream) then he indeed has seen the truth.” (Bukhari Vol. 9, Book 87, No. 125) 

  The Prophet said, “Who ever sees me (in a Dream) then he indeed has seen the truth, as Satan cannot appear in my shape.” (Bukhari Vol. 9, Book 87, No. 126)

  Many Hadiths show us that the Prophet (صلی اللہ علیھ وآلھ وسلم) used to encourage Sahaba to narrate their dreams to him.

  Anyway, that particular talk of Dr. Qadri was not meant to be made public. Somehow its recording ended up into the hands of his opponents and propagandists who took out few clips from it and presented the matter under a wrong context. It was extremely wrong thing they did as they tried to make joke of basharaats that act itself was very sinful.

  In response to the propaganda, in 1990, Dr. Qadri had explained this important matter in a lot of detail in an open lecture to the public. This 4+ hours of lecture is available online on Youtube and is like an encyclopaedia of knowledge on the matter of basharaats. If someone listens to this complete lecture, it is not possible to have any confusion left on this matter.
