I am Nneaerycht Smith, Head of Scientific Research.. AND Anomalous Research. You’d think they’d just make me Head of Research, but nooooo.
My.. uh. Daughter. Told me to get this silly little app. Apparently EVERYONE has it now.. Don’t tell her of the old account I had in my 20s..
I’m not sure how exactly I’m going to be using this now, but who knows what will happen..

Wait it’s not the 20th yet
There would be a large ass paragraph for his lore but I’m a lazy bum rn
No matter what her “mother” did, Edith couldn’t help herself. She decided that she finally wanted answers, and she decided she’d have to get them now, rather than later.
But later will come even if she doesn’t want it too. Or. Being too late, anyways. The door creaked, and the lights were off, but the sounds of choking were still there. When the lights were on, it became a bit more clear as to why there were choking sounds.
Laid on the floor, clearly after having fallen from his chair, laid her “mother”. Pupil wide but eye dull and glassy, blood dripping from his nose, an odd sort of froth at the mouth. So that was why he was choking. Blood, mucus, and whatever else was trying to come up but couldn’t. Around the room, there were empty medicine and wine bottles scattered. One glass bottle seemed to be smashed, and all along her “mother”, there were lines where the shards were dragged along, before he realised there was an easier way out. His finger twitched, but it was only a reaction in the muscle, rather than a controlled movement..
@drsmithscp
[Edith froze. Her hands began to tremble, and then her entire body. What..what happened..? It put the pieces together quite quickly, it rushed over to her "mother," kneeling beside him. Tears rushed down her cheeks. It hated him. It did. It really did..or at least..she thought she did.]
"Mama- mama please..!"
[Edith's voice was shaky. She shook Smith gently, but they then turned immediately violent as she sobbed more. This couldn't be happening again. She couldn't let it. She lifted Smith into it's arms, it rushed out of the room, to the medical ward. It couldn't lose a parent. Not again.]
It’s almost funny, how much she cares now that it’s too late. But then again, it didn’t give itself time to heal from what happened, only time to fail to move forward. And he never gave her time, not to be dismissive, but because he was a coward.
It’s hard to understand doctors when you’re in such a state of shock and.. dare she ever consider grief. All it registered was some bullshit like “overdose”, but that didn’t tell it anything!! All it really knew for sure was that she had found its “mother” on the floor, literally choking on himself.
She was asked if there was a note with the body, as this was clearly self-inflicted, but who has time to check for that when their parent was on the floor and writhing on his own death
[All Edith could respond with was "I don't know," because it was true, she didn't know anything. She never fully healed because both of them never went up to the other to offer answers or tears or comfort. It was..Edith who turned him down. But Thomas had told her about his run in with Smith.]
It would be hard for him to not survive, given the fact that immortality is how he’s functioned for years. Even whilst it was.. harder. For him to wake up, the coma was likely his plan anyways, anything was better than consciousness.
Of course, Edith was called literally as soon as the man was able to do ANYTHING.
He was sat upright in the bed. He remained silent, though Edith didn’t know the man well enough to know if that was normal or not.
[It walked over, playing with its hair. She was scared. Would he remember anything? Anything she said? Anything that happened? It was horrified. It didn't know if she wanted him to remember or not.]
He probably wasn’t thinking the straightest, considering his brain had been flooded with mystery chemicals for a little bit. But he was strong enough to remember that this was.. his daughter. He loved his daughter. Daughter was light and joy and love.
He didn’t gently take his daughter’s hand to comfort her, no. He grabbed the poor woman, and held her tight to him, and.. he started to cry?
He loved his daughter….. And here she was, finally in his arms again.. like he should’ve kept her as..
[Edith walked down the hall, folders in her hand. She had been given a job. A job she hated. To give papers to her..."mother."]
[Edith opened his office door, plopping the papers onto his desk. She wanted to leave.]
-@dr-edith-tilman
The lights were off, like they usually were. Smith was sat at his desk. He didn’t look up from whatever he was doing. Why should he? This was the same as every other exchange. Someone comes in, hands him the papers he needed for his duty, and they walked out. It was a relatively simple job, though that was only because they had removed him from any proper active jobs (Smith would KILL to do some proper tests, some proper research projects, but no.)
“Ah, thanks. Place them on the table.”
He pointed towards a small coffee table, where other papers sat. He still kept his head down, marking something on a sheet of paper, as he bit at his left thumb, like he usually did.
Usually.
What would Edith know about what he usually did? Did she actually know if he usually had the lights off, if he usually chewed his left thumb? Did she even know much about her “mother”, past the fact that he’d abandoned her? When he had tried connecting, she pushed him away, so firm on that one simple piece of knowledge about him. Now would be the perfect time to at least try know more. The world has seen kids with no families know more about their mothers than Edith does hers, for crying out loud!
Edith didn't look at him. She didn't want to look at him. It was disgusted by him. She was disgusted by everything about him.
It didn't want to know more. All she had to know was that he abandoned her. To leave her with those demons who called themselves her parents. She hated him. She hated him. She hated him. She hated him.
Edith walked over to the table, placing them down with some of the others.
But he knew nothing about it either. Did he? he know she had trouble falling asleep if her fan wasn't on? Did he know that it almost died birthing her children? No. He did not. Why didn't he reach out sooner? You may ask.
Had he? There were many things commonly said about Smith, and whilst yes, one of those things was that he forgot things easily, the other was that he made intense measures to ensure he could prevent such a thing. Some people described him as almost stalker-ish, sometimes, because many notebooks had been filled, many cameras broken., all so he could personally document other people (and his life altogether). Smith couldn’t have forgotten, he wouldn’t’ve let himself.
It was worse to consider that, though. That he didn’t forget, but he kept his distance still. It’s for the best, he’d probably tell himself, as he leaves his currently only surviving daughter somewhere. It’s for the best, he probably told himself as he walked away, not knowing what was going to happen to her.
Smith had always been watching, though. He couldn’t help it. There were reasons as to why Edith’s death was an almost, rather than it actually happening. He had been keeping his distance, because that was for the best, and because he was a coward. He would watch everything, and document it all. Maybe this was where he got a little extra.. well. Stalker-ish, but he had a specific lot of notebooks for writing stuff about his daughter (who he seemed to somehow find precious, despite literally abandoning her.) and her family
Smith looked up for the first time since this encounter had started. By now, considering its husband, Edith was probably an expert in recognising even the slightest of expressions. So it was not hard for her to see the guilt on his face, as he hurriedly looked back down.
Edith clicked her tongue, an almost tsk sound. It was disappointed, angry, sad, and..mournful. So many feelings created a cocktail of her bitterness for the man who claimed to be it's parent. But..Edith couldn't bring herself to leave him just yet. It had no excuse to stay so it..might've had to leave.
But...there is..one..thing.
"I have children."
The confession was messy. It was fast, it was rushed and it was impulsive. God, why did she do that..? Why did it admit to that? Now, he was going to go looking for her kids. Fuck.
It would be cruel to tell her that he knew, but he did. He knew she had children. He knew her child had a child. He didn’t want to look for them, because there was no use. The closest he’d ever been to interacting with the final part of his family was when he used to secretly babysit them, or watch them, or the fact that her daughter.. needed.. help.. with something.
He seemed to look worse than guilty now, and it was unable to be hidden by now. Because he knew she probably was assuming all the worst things about him right after saying that. And it was his fault her thoughts defaulted to that.
Smith took in a breath, realising he’d been silent too long. May as well say it, huh, Smith? Tell her you know all, everything. You’ll fuck it up worse-
“Yes. I know..”
-she’ll avoid you, maybe even tell other people to do the same, and you’ll have room to go forward with your plan.
Inspecting the first needle of many, Smith wondered what’d happen after he does this. How many people would miss him? How many of them wouldn’t even know him? How easy would it be to forget there was even someone there?
Smith didn’t actually know what was in the needles, he hadn’t been paying attention. He just knew it was fast-acting, so surely that meant that it would behave similarly when put to this use.
He counted up all of the syringes, making sure he had all 13. A specific number, yes, but it was a number Smith quite liked. He then turned his attention to the note. Or what was meant to be a note. All he had written was, “Dear whoever finds this,” because he couldn’t be bothered to figure out what else to put on there. Maybe if he bleeds, he’ll try to get some to cover the paper, so it looks like it’s on purpose. Or he’ll spill his ink. Really, he just wanted this over and done with.
[Thomas had been wandering through the halls as he passed by the room Smith was in. Thomas hadn't heard Smith in there but he was curious as to what was behind that door. His father always said his curiosity towards things was "inefficient" but...He couldn't help it. Truly.]
[Thomas opened the door, seeing the needles and then Smith.]
Smith hadn’t jumped in a long while, but oh my god. He was almost knocked out of his chair, the only thing stopping him was the needle halfway in his neck, because he wanted this to be, at least to some degree, painless. And falling out of your chair could cause a lot of pain when a needle is in you. Or just in general. Falling out of a chair hurts.. anyways, Smith was very much rather shocked at the sudden intrusion. Not because he hadn’t been expecting any guests, but because he thought he’d locked the door!! He had tredecuple checked!!
He couldn’t see the face clearly of whoever had just walked in, and so he certainly couldn’t recognise the familiar features that had carried on, but he still had to at least save this interaction.
First impressions were everything!!
He hoped the needle wasn’t all that damaged as he very “secretly” removed it (he winced, because these needles weren’t meant to be removed so quickly.)
"Just..checking in on you..O-Oh! Uh..right! I'm..Thomas..! Thomas Gears!"
[Thomas rushed over, putting a hand on Smith's shoulder to steady him. He was a kind soul. Just like his mother! How she..usually is. Not with Smith though.]
Smith would've batted away the help anyways, he couldn't help it. It was just hardwired into him. But he may have been a bit more firm on pushing Thomas away when he recognised the name, and finally got a closer look at the boy.
He realised he may have hurt Thomas by doing that, so he moved himself away.
"I'm alright."
Even when he makes it so everything and everyone avoids him, he still has someone. Checking in on him? There clearly was something else planned. You don't just check in on someone you don't know! (Even if Smith knew him..)
"I'm alright," He repeated himself, just to ensure it was clear, "is there any reason for you.. checking in on me? I don’t believe I’ve seen you around before, so I’m certain you’ve not seen me."
That was a bit of a lie. Again, Smith absolutely has seen Thomas before. But Thomas probably didn’t know much about him. He usually kept hidden from his.. other daughter, and her family.
"I..opened the door because I was curious is all..!!"
[Great defense, Thomas. Real great, even if it was true. From the way he delievered it, it probably sounded like a lie. Thomas was trembling from how nervous he was. Oh god if only Octavia were here. She would've helped him.]
Smith felt bad. He probably hurt the poor boy. He didn’t want one of the last things he did to be hurting his own grandson!! And even if Smith could clock the fact that NOBODY would just randomly enter his office, he can’t exactly just keep pushing something like that. He’d probably hurt Thomas more.

Oh.. I feel like immortality and employment at the foundation seems to be more common these days... I've also noticed most staff, and HR,, don't really know how to appropriately interact with the anomalous employed, either... I do admit I've noticed the immortal tend to be mistreated quite a bit... especially by Alto...
Maybe make a post asking who wants to RP? I'm sure that there would be many people willing, specially considering the reblogs and other responses you've gotten! There are multiple active RP groups from what I've seen, like where Novaetine is!
Smith enters the room Robin just so happened to be in.
Hey, Robs. Do you mind holding onto this for me??
He hands them a small remote, but it doesn’t look like it’s for anything.
I’m going to need you to, uh. Keep pressing that intermittently. There is a dial for something on there. It’d be awfully helpful if you did this for me, I might even put in a good word for you if you do this for me.
Smith smiles, like he had literally not just handed them the most obvious vibrator remote ever. I mean, it was LITERALLY LABELLED?
~🫀🧿🥩 @drsmithscp 👁️💉✨~
Robin held it in their hands, their eyes flicked between him and the remote. They pressed a button to test it out. Then they played with the dial. And pressed the button again.
Fuck. Not only am I DYING And my daugjyer doeos not care, my fiancé had to go do soemthing. And also. It started. And also also. MY ENGAGEMENT PARTY IS LITERALLY TKMORROW, AND I’M SICK AND DYONG, AND MY FIANCÉ IS, AGAIN, AWAY. HE BETTER BE BACK BU TOMORROW.
