P-P-P-PARKING, DTLA PARKING!!

The Meetup is located at this corner, yes it looks like nothing is there but I promise you much will be there. Corner of 12th and Grand !

here is a Parking recommendation simply because it’s a bit cheaper from what I understand and not too far from the meet.

it’s the 1045 Hill St parking which is a Joe’s Parking and tbh I really love Joes Parking. If you can find a Joe’s parking anywhere else near the meet, pls go to Joe’s

this is how this specific joe’s looks like :- )

It’s going to be held at the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf at the Little Tokyo Mall in DTLA! 

DATES/TIMES:

WEDNESDAY July 3rd 11:30am-4:30pm

SUNDAY July 7th 1:30pm-6:30pm

To get a better understanding of which way to go towards once you get off the gold line this is the direction you should be going!

This is for a less crowded/easier way of ordering lyft/uber without panicking of being honked at.

Outside of the main entrance of AX, go down Pico towards Hope st and then get picked up around this area !

LASTLY if you’re walking towards the drawmeet or need some convenient direction :

The pink dot is where the Drawmeet is and I suggest you to stay on the path of the side with the pink dot opposed to the other side.

AVOID going down these streets for the DrawMeet :

San Pedro St

3rd/4th St

(Beyond) Los Angeles /2nd 

Going down first street and turning onto Alameda is the best option!

QUICK INFO BREAKDOWN

 This CBTL is in fact a franchise and not corporate owned, so purchasing any item would not only help the franchise out, but would help the drawmeet out immensely by allowing it to be held there in the future !

The purchase doesn’t have to be big, as mentioned all drinks are less than or equal to 6$. So anything from the menu would be a big help for the drawmeet!

       RESPECT ARTISTS 

Respect all artists at the DrawMeet! Which means if an artist is not down to draw something, be understanding and whip out that List of Interest !

There will be artists that will only draw fanart, so keep that in mind. 

      OPEN MINDSET/ POSITIVE ATTITUDE

Remember that this event is intended to bring artists together, so I ask of you to please don’t bring any drama/complications with certain names or gossip into the meet. 

This is an EVERYONE event, where everyone is free to express THEMSELVES, and open up artistically!  

Support and encouragement is where it’s at B-)

The Draw Meet is primarily 18+, and a SFW space.

WHAT TO BRING TO THE DRAWMEET !

Above is a small list of items to bring to the DrawMeet and what to include in your blank sketchbook!

FULL INFORMATION UNDER 

A VERY IMPORTANT NOTE, there will be more info about these “Fandom Menus” in this upcoming week, but know that out of respect of the cafe there would have to be a purchase of any beverage/pastry available. Don’t fret because the beverages won’t be more than $6 ( including add-ons!) there will be more info about this later !

The EMPTY SKETCHBOOK

If you forget your sketchbook and/or couldn’t get one on time, no worries I’ll have some spares to give out during the meet, along with a few art supplies !

To start off the chain of passing out sketchbooks, just ask anyone near you or if you’re bold enough ask out loud if anyone has an available sketchbook.

I would suggest adding a sticker or something to make sure your sketchbook is recognizable at first glance, sometimes sketchbooks get passed around, so you gotta make sure it gets back to you safe and sound !

On the back of the front cover create a “LIST OF INTERESTS” this will be useful when either your sketchbook gets randomly passed around, an artist can’t draw the first request given, or you can’t name anything at the top of your head.

I would suggest putting down your favorite characters and/or ocs!

 (with included printed refs)

Customize it however you want ! :-)

THE USED SKETCHBOOK

The used sketchbook is only for giving inspiration/motivation for artists that are starting to burn out, and to just have a little break to look at each other’s art!

If you don’t have a finished/used sketchbook don’t worry about it, there’s wifi/service at the cafe. You can whip out your social media and start scrolling !

Hello Everyone!

I’m finally going to start doing a much more organized Draw Meet ! 

I’ve been doing Draw Meets primarily during and AT Anime Expo every year. After much thinking I’ve decided to move the Draw Meet OUTSIDE of AX and into available Cafes. This way I can hold a meet up in a much more convenient environment for artists. As well as artists who have wanted to attend the Draw Meet but could not afford to attend AX! 

The upcoming Draw Meet will be on the same week as AX, but not necessarily on AX days, they will be held on more convenient days for both con-goers/the cafe it will be held at. The location will be set at a Cafe  in Little Tokyo DTLA.

I will be providing routes/location/dates/times/info in the upcoming week.

All I ask is for participation in giving input on dates/times ! I would also need to know how many people would be able to attend to prepare the cafe.

Thank you so much for your support the past few AX draw meets! If this goes well in organizing I can possibly hold more Draw Meets in the future :-D
