Politics and prostitution have to be the only jobs where inexperience is considered a virtue. In what other profession would you brag about not knowing stuff? ‘I’m not one of those fancy Harvard heart surgeons. I’m just an unlicensed plumber with a dream and I’d like to cut your chest open!’
Tina Fey (via ronpaulproblems)
Well, Bernie Sanders and I agree on at least one thing.
This is like installing Windows on a Mac.
I am physically required to reblog this or my heart will stop beating.

i don’t understand how the irs actually taxes your tips? like can’t you just put it in your pocket and not tell anyone?
They are guessing now. They literally take a guess on how much you make on tips. You could have made $0 but if they think you made $200 in tips in a month you getting taxes deducted from those.
How the fuck does that even work? They’re taxing income that you don’t even make??! How are people even putting up with this shit why are college students protesting Halloween costumes when people are getting straight up robbed by the government
Because roads, sweetie (^:

@dubstep-and-guns
Literally though.
ALL RIGHT, SO
I am very sick of the IRS.
Here is why.
At Starbucks inside the casino, once in a blue moon we are lucky enough to take home like 80 bucks a week in tips. That was what I got during the holidays anyway, for like one pay period. But pretty much I get between 30 and 50 dollars a week. That equates to (MATH!) maybe 100 dollars a pay period.
Well with this new tip compliance thing going on at work, the IRS now gets to GUESS (that’s right, folks, they are guessing) how much we all make in tips a pay period. Their first guess for me last check was 324 bucks. THREE HUNDRED TWENTY-FOUR DOLLARS. Bahahahaa yeah, okay, sure, you morons. So, instead of a 740-dollar paycheck, it was only 689.
We all blew up all over our managers and union reps. They are currently “working on it”.
Today was pay day.
Take a GUESS how much the IRS thinks I made in tips this pay period (the SLOWEST two weeks of my life working at Starbucks; EVERYONE went home early at least one day). Yeah, apparently, even though labor was down, they think I made 429 dollars in tips. FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY-NINE DOLLARS?! Are we kidding? I WISH, oh my GOD!
So, let’s all do the math together.
82 hours, 2 hours over time (which are actually just the overtime Caesars owed me from two months ago) equates to a gross of 1052.44
INSTEAD, the gross on my paycheck says 1482.28
And THAT, my friends, is what they taxed me on.
So instead of my paycheck being $868, it was $725.
Find for me any logic where that is acceptable.
I took home about 320 dollars LESS than what they guessed in tips. How. Dare. They.
All this is doing for me is putting me in a higher tax bracket and taking away money I NEED. In fact, at this rate, they may decide I OWE taxes at the end of the year beause they think I made $33,600 this year when I sincerely only made $17,280
Do you understand what is happening right now?
This isn’t just me. All of my coworkers–girls who have been working there over five years–are being punished for tips they don’t even take home. And it’s a random number which is different for all of us. The IRS is literally pulling this number out of their asses just to steal from us. Many of my coworkers are thirty years old (or older, with children!). One just told me she is short on her mortgage and bills because of this tip nonsense.
Thank you, government, for really taking care of the little guy.
Holy hell.
Abolish the IRS
But remember, taxes aren’t theft ya’ll. It’s all part of the social contract because roads! (◕‿◕✿)
We know everyone must partake in paying tax, but the tax rate set for that person is too high. They are only making $17,000 roughly but yet they are being taxed for much more, which then means they have less money. And dont get me started on the “guessing” part. The people that create the tax level for people in that bracket need to calculate a correct and equal amount of money, because in a case like this, people similar to the person here will be taxed too much, or even possibly, too little. This needs to be sorted out before the tax level becomes too unstable.
Seriously, this ain’t right.
The IRS can’t adjust because they don’t know what the taxpayer will make. So they guesstimate to their advantage. It’s not right and it happens to anyone who earns irregular income. My entire savings got wiped out one year. It’s not uncommon for people to get loans to cover quarterly estimated taxes. You come to realize that if you had a year that was good, you fucked up and they’re going to rape you accordingly.
They put the onus on you to magic the cash you may or may not have into existence and then steal it from you. It’s straight gangster shit. You get a return once you prove you’re broke and you didn’t have a gazillion dollars to steal at some future date, but there is no accounting for the time value of your money.
I’m actually glad they’ve started doing this to tipping. It will force people to realize how they’re being taken advantage of. Employers withholding tax for the IRS is a purposeful mirage to keep hourly employees from feeling how much the government steals. Everyone always looks at the bottom line on their check and ignores the small print.
Employees should get every cent they earn and then have to write a check to the IRS for the amount the tax collectors claim. A hell of a lot more people would realize what’s up if that were the case.
Comparing the Crye AC, Crye-Fire, Tru, and Frog combat shirts there are a few things to take into account, diversity of options, durability, comfort, and price.
Diversity:
Crye AC Shirt: Available in a limited number of solid colors and camouflage patterns, no longer in production.
Crye-Fire Shirt: Only two readily available patterns, Multicam and Woodland Marpat.
Tru Shirt: Available in over two dozen patterns and solid colors
Frog Shirt: Available in Both Marpats, Black, All NWU patterns, Multicam
Durability:
Crye AC Shirt: Made in USA from US materials, well build
Crye-Fire Shirt: Made in USA from US materials, mine had a manufacture defect and the button hole on the pocket was not cut. Fire Retardant.
Tru Shirt: Made in Honduras with US materials, some stitching issues, I have a hole in mind from my armor rubbing against it on my back
Frog Shirt: Made in USA with US Materials. Fire Retardant.
Comfort:
Crye AC Shirt: I find to be very comfortable and good at dispersing heat when worn under armor
Crye-Fire Shirt: Very similar to AC shirt but retains more heat
Tru Shirt: Very bad as dispersing heat, when used in warm environments quickly can cause overheating (see permanent sweat stains on my shirt.)
Frog Shirt: Moderate heat transfer
Price:
Crye AC shirt: $130-$200 for most patterns, out of production so must be bought on secondary market
Crye-Fire Shirt: $70 on Sportsman’s Guide
Tru Shirt: $40-$90 depending on size and color/pattern
Frog Shirt: $50 new on secondary market for Marpat, significantly more expensive in other colors
Final Opinion:
All four of these shirts have a purpose and I own and use all of them for a reason. My preferred shirt is a Crye AC shirt with an under armor undershirt. My suggested shirt if you are on a budget is the Crye-Fire shirt if you are going to use Multicam or Woodland Marpat.
The TRU Combat Shirt (shown here in M81 Woodland) has been popular on the civilian market due to it’s lower price point than many alternatives and the wide variety of patterns it is available in. The sleeves and collar of the shirt are made of 50% Nylon and 50% Cotton making them durable. The arms of the shirt are copies of normal ACU blouse sleeves from the velcro closure to the elbow pads to the ACU style pocket. The left arm even has the same triple pen pocket. The body of the shirt is comprised of 100% cotton in a thick weave. This material also carries to the inside of the collar. The collar is much shorter than most other combat shirts on the market. The TRU Combat shirt is affordable, but suffers from lack of venting, making it uncomfortable for long periods of time and for use on hot days. I give the TRU Combat shirt a 6.5/10
