How it feels to have no hobbies

what are the main themes in the story/ies you're making? and do you think you have any reoccurring themes in the stories you make? (like for me I have a tendency to write characters that get their entire personhood wrecked and then have to figure it all out again from the wreckage)

Hmm I tend to focus on characters dealing with bigotry and/or trauma as well as mental illness. Also secrets, everyone's keeping secrets all the time.

The Inhuman Files especially goes heavier into the bigotry and secrets side, as in their world Inhumans and Nonhumans are discriminated against due to the nature of not being human.

My sci-fi stories (whenever I get off my ass and start getting around to them) are gonna focus more on bigotry and trauma, with certain characters like Palm being from a species that's considered evil and violent and others like Kiro and Issac who deal with it from within their own species.

The new one I came with like yesterday, MoonFish, is gonna be about trauma and mental illness for sure since the entire Nacht Squad needs therapy and the Fishbones are ignoring their problems as best they can (which is not a healthy way to deal with things at all).

But yeah, trauma, bigotry, and mental illness :3

Seadog: Probably his tail! It's annoying to draw the fins but I love his big ol fishy tail

Mimikin: Raw meat ears :3

Issac: His clothing patterns! They're actually canonically wire threaded throughout his clothes but I love how they're a bitch to draw lmao

Nyx: Also the most annoying part of their design but the shirt! I like the blue to purple colours

on a scale of "nothing matters, things happen for no reason and then you live or die accordingly" to "everything happens for a reason, there must be some sort of reason or logic to everything (and if there isn't a narrative I will start making one regardless of how close or far from reality it is)" where do each of them fall?

Seadog: Middle of the spectrum. He for the most part doesn't care what happens or when it happens, things just do and he deals with it whether he thinks there's a reason for it or not.

Mimikin: Closer to the "things happen for a reason" side, it believes that some things are destined to happen for whatever reason but you can change others. Like doing X action will always result in Y but doing B action instead of A action will lead to result Y-B instead of result Y-A.

Issac: All the way on the "nothing matters" side. He feels a lot of things about his existence never had any reason to happen, from being naturally born to the last star in his species' area of space dying the night he was born to the way his species blames him for his existence and not his parents.

Nyx: Hmm not really sure with them, probably flips between the two depending on how life is going for them? Like if they're having an attention crash they might be on the nothing matters side but when they're getting lots of supply they're probably closer to the everything happens for a reason side.

who is the most likely to be absolutely dogshit at taking care of plants, like kill a succulent levels of bad

Oh a good majority of my OCs lmao, but I'd say that Issac would not be able to keep plants alive. He's a scientist but his sciences are all in technology and distorting space, plus he's really bad at remembering that most things need sustenance to survive (he does too but he gets very sucked into his work and forgets to feed himself :p )

who would be the best at 1 on 1 combat

Ooo that's a hard one! Of the four I presented recently I'd say probably Seadog? He's pretty strong compared to the others and while Mimikin is an ok fighter, it's more of a sneak attacker and focuses on dodging for the most part.

Seadog really like fowl, things like Quail and Duck and Seagull and such, basically any bird that he's allowed to eat lmao

As for me I'd have to say maybe cake? Particularly a naked cake that has icing between the layers that one German cake I had like three months ago that was really good but I can't remember the name of </3

YAY ummm I'll share some of my favs

This is Mimikin, also known as the meat cat! It's from my comic series The Inhumane Files and probably has the most comics in that series lmao. It goes by It/Its pronouns and is agender! It can't speak human languages and instead speaks through meows and chirps like a cat, but it can't communicate with actual cats despite sounding like one. It works in the meat trade and does a little something extra on the side but that's spoilers for the comic I think so I'll keep that a secret ;3

Mimikin isn't actually an Inhuman, rather being a Nonhuman which is the offspring of an Inhuman and a human, but it hides that fact as best it can because as much as the world dislikes Inhumans, they're treated better than Nonhumans are. It does feel really bad about that because it loves its dad (the Inhuman parent) but it does what it has to to be successful in its life.

This is Seadog, the guy I've been obsessed with lately. He's from another series I'm planning, Odd/Over (pronounced Odd Over Even), and is the cousin of another character in the series. He lives out on his boat just kinda floating around the ocean scaring the shit out of people! He technically has magic that presents as an ever lasting fog surrounding him and he can also summon these little white shapes around him that glow! He doesn't like to talk much usually unless it's with his family and he never takes off his mask. He's rather intimidating and is closer to his cousin than anyone else in the family and even used to babysit it when they were younger!

Issac is an alien from a highly advanced species called Asaia that live in an area of space with no stars. He's developed instant teleportation that doesn't involve breaking the body down into atomic data or however transporters usually work lmao. While he's not immortal, his species has increased their life expectancy to a couple hundred thousand years. He's the first natural born Asaia in about 3 million years and that comes with A LOT of problems both socially and personally. Despite his name translating to Issac in universal speak (the language developed to speak across planets, kinda like Common from DND) it's a lot more complex in his native language and actually has no meaning because it's an "incomplete cord", since in his native language names are full songs and his isn't. He's obsessed with anything having to do with stars!

This is Nyx! This is their avatar, they're a streamer who mostly plays a game called Creatrix (a Minecraft-inspired game in their world I made specifically so I can say fuck it to Minecraft physics lmao) where they do PVP and building. They're exclusively attracted to men but love to jokingly flirt with their friend RubixFeud whenever they interact online together (which he reciprocates because they both find it funny). They also have HPD and are open about it to their audience. Nyx divides their time as a streamer into separate "eras", being the Sad Girl Era, the Nightville Era, the Post Nightville Era, and the Contemporary Nyx Era. I haven't drawn its avatars for the other eras but the Sad Girl Era has an old avatar and the Nightville Eras have an old avatar as well that their community likes to draw interacting with each other. They also save every bit of fan art, fanfic, ect that people make for them because they love the attention from their fans <3
