more from my nomadic au actually. Sasuke grows his hair out for many reasons. For one, hed rather strangers see an unruley scruffy black mess than The Uchiha Terrorist. He knows its not practical. But being simi blind and an amputee isnt practical either. Sasuke enjoys taking care of it when he has the time. He used to think Sakura was crazy for spending so much time on her hair when they were genin, but in the slow hours he spends, half struggling, to wash and brush his hair, he finds that his breath comes just a bit eaiser. A bit of the tension he carrys across the nations washes out of him like the grease and dirt from his long mop.
Jiraya had once taken Naruto to an old bath house near a dying hot spring, run by a family in the land of tea. When naruto returned after the war to find the family quite a bit smaller than it had been, he decided to buy half of the buisness. not as popular as it used to be and a bit secluded from the nearby town, makes it prime realistate for a wandering Sasuke.
The entire “Sasuke has loved Sakura since their genin days” theory falls apart because of a single panel.
Why does Sasuke himself, after Itachi’s death, admit that Naruto is the only person whose bond he needs to sever? Why does he place his bond with Naruto above his supposed love for Sakura? Why does he himself believe that Naruto is the only person who influences him so deeply that he has to be killed?

I’m crying. Fans of this hetslop ship can’t even find any manga moments to support it. NaruHina is the most forced couple ever. Naruto didn’t give a damn about Hinata romantically; in the Pain arc, he would’ve reacted the same way if anyone he cared about had been killed. Hinata was simply the final straw.
Fujoshi’s still pulling this weird nonsense 10 years later? Hinata wasn’t the “final straw” she was the TRIGGER. He kept his composure through everything until the moment he saw her blood. This is where the red string of fate comes into play. He previously made a vow on her blood to avenge her vs Neji, and he succeeded, now the sight of her blood triggers him to erupt straight into his 4 tailed state which is combination of his own blood and Kurama’s chakra, with a reinforced seal no less whereas the moment you cite in regards to Sasuke, its a weakened seal and Orochimaru had to repeatedly taunt him to get him to that state whereas Pain needed to ask a single question: Do you hate me now? to get him to push beyond that into the 6 tailed state. Naruto later directly credits Hinata being struck as what triggered his heart to align with Kurama’s will. So no, he would not have reacted the same with anyone else. What did he do when he next met Sasuke? Told him he can do what he wants but if he comes to the village on some fuckshit he will be there to stop him even if at their current levels they’d likely kill each other but somehow you weirdos take that shit as some lovers suicide pact.

Naruto had just watched some of the people closest to him die (Jiraiya and Kakashi). He was already pushed to his emotional limit, so Hinata’s apparent death was simply the final straw. Call it a trigger if that makes it easier for you—the point remains the same.
He would have reacted exactly the same way if Sakura had thrown herself at Pain right in front of him.
As for the Chunin Exams arc, Naruto had a personal conflict with Neji because it was a clash of two worldviews. If Neji had been right, that would have meant Naruto was destined to remain a failure for the rest of his life.
Hetslop fans somehow reduce Naruto’s entire character arc to Hinata.

Their ENTIRE clan is about love. Their clan technique LITERALLY SYMBOLIZES LOVE, and Sasuke is stripped of all of it.
Meanwhile, Sakura HARASSES Sasuke. She doesn't take "no" for an answer, she ridicules another orphan right in front of him, and she completely LACKS empathy (the very thing both Sasuke and Naruto embody). She tries to manipulate him. She invalidates his trauma of losing his family, putting it on the same level as her getting rejected by a boy. And this DOES NOT change over time, because she does the exact same thing even at seventeen.
To love SasuSaku is to hate Sasuke.
