[Stats]
Player: Azurra Sullivan.
Drow, Rogue, Level [2]
[King of Cups: A Gentle King. Peaceful, Sensitive, Affectionate and Calm. Teaches through Gentle Guidance. Enjoy to express self but enjoys it more when helping another express themselves. He will do everything he can for another at the expense of his own creativity. May seem "Soft" to those that do not know him.]
Azurra, fast asleep in the pile of pillows, feels a soft hand start to gently shake her shoulder. A voice rings out, soft but clear, that it is now after dusk and she should be waking up if she wants to enjoy all the city has to offer her *she mumbles a little, but quickly rouses from her sleep, not really being that much of a daytime person so much as night-time* Oh.. good evening.. *she sits up and gets herself in order, making sure everything is all there before standing.*
"I hope you had a good rest, Azurra" "I did, ma'am.. thank you for letting me stick around."
"Oh there is no problem. You will be helping me greatly, so it is the least I could do." She then motions to a far archway, the large oaken doors open to a hallway. "That will be the hall to take so to reach the City below. You will find a pier that should take you to where you need to go." "Thank you, ma'am. And might I ask, what will my task be?"
"I was to meet with the other Lords of Duile but as you can see I have trouble traveling normally. I will be needing you to meet with them for me" "Oh.. I can do that, yes. That shouldn't be too hard."
"Oningu will keep record for me of what they had need of me. He will also help you keep healthy out there" "Oh. Thank you. If that's all then, I suppose I should stock up on supplies and be off." *With that, she bows, and makes her exit into the city outside*
[Once outside, she finds herself at the top of a grand stone staircase, two massive statues of dog-headed men holding spears flanking the door. Below she can see the canopy of the city and the glittering black sea from the moon's light high in the sky. There is flickers of torch light seeping through canvas that shades the people from the harsh light of day if they venture out during that time] *Ooh.. yes. Let's just go in there and see what things are like in this town.*
[Entering the city she is greeted to a thick crowd. Mostly consisting Drow, she can spot a few Crobat's and the occasional Kenku.] *Hmmm.. well, this is actually quite lovely. Nice crowds, no daylight... let's see about the shops.*
[After some walking, she finds a open air market of stalls. One is manned by a Drow Man selling Armour and weapons, another a young looking Kenku woman selling food.] *She goes to the armor and weapons stall first, seeing if there's any equipment she could stand to replace.*
[Parrying Dagger, 5gp Kukri, 10 gp Craghammer, 20gp Spiked Sheld, 10gp Triple-headed Flail, 15gp Mordenkrad, 30gp Double Flail, 30gp Greatbow, 30gp Repeating Crossbow, 35gp >Magazine, 1gp
Drowmesh Armor, Custom jobs Hide Armor, 30gp Leather Armor, 25gp Cloth Armor, 1gp] *Hmmm... let's see. I could probably make use of this kukri here... this crossbow could also very much come in handy if I could use it... bit of a shame, that.. what is this, now? This.. custom armor. This may be worth looking into sometime.* "Excuse me. What's this about custom armor jobs?"
The Drow man regards you, before resting his arm over the table. "We are able to enchant the armour with abilites to add whomever owns it. Is there something in mind you'd like." "Oh, yes.. I'll be doing some work around the country, and some extra protection would be nice... how much might it be to have a set done?"
"Depends on the enchantment" he pulls out a book from under the table and lays it before you to look at. [You may look through the AV books for Magic Armour.] [You can find an Armour your level or up to three above.] "Ah, well there had been a set I had been looking at before I ended up here..." *she details the enchantment* [Shared Suffering Armor, av1 p. 51]
He takes the book back and flips through it, seeming to be listening to what she was saying. Tapping the page, he sets it down before her. "Shared Suffering. Its pricey. 1000gp. You sure you can afford it?" "I'm very sure." She pulls from her bag a coin purse. "This should cover it."
He takes the coin purse and tests its weight. Nodding, he ventures to the back of his stall that seems to lead to a door. "Wait here a moment and I'll have it done for you." "Yes sir."
((Guess that money I tossed at you for her being a princess came in handy [((Quite. I basically knew it'd end up being used on supplies, but every little bit helps. She'll probably make it back anyway. [After some time, the Drow Man returns and sets down the armor] "Oh, this is lovely.. you do very nice work. Thank you very much."
"Thank you miss" [She holds up the kukri. "I'd also like one of these. That'll be all." She fishes out the additional 10 gp for the weapon and hands it over.
[She is given the Kukri] "Thank you again, sir." She then moves on to the food stall. That will be very important on an adventure.
[The stall is full of fruits, some dried as well, and a array of fish. There is few products made from livestock like cheeses and eggs] *Alright, this is a nice selection. Some dried and smoked things will probably be all I can take though, for freshness' sake.* *She hands over the approximate price, probably no more than 50 gp because it's all for one person, and then looks around for the mentioned docks. She can't stay long, after all, there's diplomacy to do.*
[As she travels away from the market, she can see some children playing, a few stray animals, a long tail before it flicks down an alley and the long hill that leads down to the water] *??? What in the hell was that tail? I should probably go right to the docks, though... but that might be trouble... but... no... no. I have work to do.*
[Make a choice: Follow the Tail or Head for the Docks] *...Okay, no, curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought her back. She goes off to follow. The docks will be there.*
[She heads for the alleyway. There are crates stacked on either side and it is darker than the streets.] [Spot check] ((11 + 5
[She catches the sight of a tip of a tail going around a corner] *she creeps after the tail, squinting* ((18 + 14 Stealth
[She peers around the corner and sees a tall man in a cloak, a tail flicking lazily behind them. There is something silver coiled around the neck of the hood] *Now what in the hell is this and exactly why is he lurking in corners like this? Not many races have tails, and being raised by who she was, her mind immediately darts to the possibility of a tiefling lurking about. Not such a surprise. They tend to lurk. Even her mom.*
[Spot or Listen] ((10 + 5 Listen
[He seems to be talking. To whom she isn't sure but there are two voices.] "Did you find it?" "Yes it seems so. This better have been worth it" *Her eyes narrow. What did he find? He's clearly talking to /somebody.../* ((9 + 5 Spot
[She can't see another figure] [*Okay, let's just... keep standing here and watching. You have shiny new armor and a shiny new weapon. You can take this if he gets violent.*
[Stealth to get closer. Listen or Spot to learn more] ((9 + 14 Stealth, why waste that bonus it's kind of ridiculous
[She moves closer to the figure. She can see the silver thing shift, thin wings folded against its side] *Aha. It's some kind of drake then, isn't it? Just need to keep quiet...* ((17 + 5 listen
[She can hear that the voices are Male and Female] "Yes young Lord. This is very important to what needs to be done" "Again with the formality?" "Of course. You are the one in which I am to aide. In accordance to holding my artifact" *Young... lord? What? What in the fuck is this? This doesn't look like any lord I've ever seen. And I've seen a lot. This is just some dude in an alleyway.* ((8 + 14 to stay hidden and watch more.
[They don't notice you] "If you say so. Though you are far from your mark on this Lord stuff" "I assure you. I am correct in this. You will see in time" *What is this guy up to? What even..? Okay. Okay play it casually. You're just lost, and you can totally fight this guy if you need to.* Excuse me?
[He turns, peering over to you. He doesn't seem to be alarmed but he does look at you curiously] "Ah.. terribly sorry to bother you. I was just wondering why exactly you seemed so keen on running into this alley."
[He moves aside. With his body gone, you can see a doorway he previously blocked] "I see. Do you live back here then?"
[He smiles] "Not quite. But I do have business with this door. Is there a reason why you have followed me" "Well.. I had been on my way to the docks. But curiosity killed the cat, as they say."
[He laughs a bit, lifting a hand to stroke at the head of the small dragon around his neck. You can see a long gold chain hanging from his other hand] "Mm. Well, at any rate, I suppose I had to come investigate. I do hope you won't prove me naive for that."
"Afraid?" "Only as much as anyone has right to be in a foreign city's back alleys."
"You are a Rogue, yes?" "Some could call me that, yes."
[He smiles. His tail slips under his cloak. He steps closer to you] *She stands her ground.* *Perhaps reasonably, there's a little fear behind her eyes, but only behind her eyes. She's doing a good job not letting it show.*
[He stops before her. She can see his fangs. Slowly, his tail withdraws from his cloak holding a small case] "Well then. From one thief to another. Lets keep this little meeting a secret" [he holds out the case] *she slowly reaches out and takes it, wondering what it is.*
[Inside the case are the following. 4x Alchemist Silver 2x Crown Eye Agate 1x Uncut Star Rose Quartz] *She gives him a little smile* "Heh. Well. Best of luck in your endeavor then, whatever it might be. The gift's appreciated."
[He nods and heads toward the door. He pulls on a chain around his neck that ends in a key and inserts it to the lock. The edges of the door seep out a golden light] "And you yours. I wonder if we will meet again. Until then..." "Until then, yes..." She gives him a wave, then exits the alleyway, stashing her new prize in her bag. Then, she trots off to her original destination.
[It is uneventful to the pier compared to the last encounter. She can see a few ships docked, a handful of sailors peering out at the water] She begins to look around for the ship set to lead to her destination.
[They all seem to be docked for the night, but she comes across a figure sitting at the dock side, a long staff in hand resting its end in a long boat] She approaches the figure. "Excuse me?"
[The figure, draped in a long dark cloak, turns their head to look at you from the shadows beneath the hood] "I'm looking for a ship headed out to the mainland? I've been sent by Her Ladyship in the palace."
[Though you can't see their face, you can feel their eyes boring into you as if searching for a lie. You also feel the reptilian body of you companion shifting closer to your neck to see what is going on] She is very clearly not lying.
[Your companion starts to speak] "Jazmine. It has been a while. This young lady is on the orders of the Lady Sakura to see to the Lords of the Mainland. Do you know why these ships are not going?" The figure, Jazmine, points out to the waters and the thick fog overtop. "They fear to sail. I can take you however. Where we land though will be up to the Fates. Are you sure you wish to leave or do you stay until Daybreak." "I believe I'm ready to set sail now. I've never been one for daybreak, anyway." With that, she approaches the boat. The fog doesn't scare her. Sailing into fog banks? Normal back at home.
[They nod and slip into the long boat. They hold out a hand] *She takes it and slips into the boat herself, taking a seat.*
[They take the staff and push off of the dock. Soon they are out on the ocean, swallowed by the Fog] "...Beautiful night tonight. Out on the open water in the depths of a wall of fog.. reminds me of home, really."
[She can see the fog curling at the sides of the boat. Jazmine, dips her staff into the water, a faint silver light glowing under the water where the staff slips] *She watches the fog and the light in the water. Nothing to do now but wait and see where the fates take her.*
[Spot check] ((15 + 5
[She can see figures in the fog, breaching the water for brief moments at a time. Some are large, another a long serpent-like shadow arcing over the water *This is.. not the same as home. That's a little worrying, but, we must press onward. The person steering doesn't seem concerned after all.*
