Dungeon Saga: The Dwarf King's Quest finished! All painted!!! It took ages but this looks nice!!!
Last miniatures to finish the first box for Dungeon Saga: the armoured zombies!!!!
Two new heroes finished for Dungeon Saga: Madriga the elf and Arianya the demon hunter. I am assembling more skeletons... Probably a new army being prepared...
What a pleasure to play with painted miniatures!!! What a pleasure to test Uncharted Dungeon and Solo modes for Dungeon Saga!!!
My latest paintings for Dungeon Saga: Valandor, Danor, Orlaf, GW's Grombrindal and a few zombies! Coming soon: Aryania, Madriga, some Stormcast Eternals and the amoured zombies!!!
I just finished painting the base coats for these Troll Zombies for Dungeon Saga. I like them!
Yeaaaah 😍😍😍👆👆👆 @durgearquests @yuukisinon
Nice choice!!! Though I prefer "The Number of the Beast" and "Powerslave"
A few models that were in my painting schedule that I finally finished!!! The most receny is Mortibris the Overlore/Necromancer from "Dungeon Saga". The Bloodsecrator from "Warhammer AOS". And finally the skeletons and effreets from DS. I am not painting as well as I'd want or thought I could do but still, a few details show I'm slowly progressing and I'm prud of these!!!
I have been absent for a reeeaaal long time. I have been very busy in life in general and put painting on a two month hiatus for other projects... Since last week, I decided to go forward with many projects waiting on my painting schedule for sooo long. I wanted to share with you my latest figs: My Djinn (repainted - unfinished, I'm thinking light blue for the magic runes...). 3 Efreets from Mantic - Dungeon Saga - unfinished too) My warband for Mordheim (finished). To finish this band I'm hesitating between repainting the Mutant or buying bestigors... I also have other painting stuff in mind and I'll try to come here on a more regular basis. Thanks for reading this!
Another test session ran at the same time last friday during the club... The fight opposes Danor vs Semential, the wizards provided in the games. This fight occured after too many experiments made a mess of the laboratory. We do not remember who got mad at the others but the chemicals and smoke from magic made seeing the results impossible... In the end they both hid behind bookshelves forgetting some spellq could be cast "seeing"...
A Dungeon Saga session at the club... First it reminded the players of the rules since we are moving from Hero Quest to Dungeon Saga. I had in mind the testing of Orlaf vs Ragran the two Barbarians provided in thf games. The scene takes place in an Inn after too many beers... The problem is that they were too drunk to fight correctly or to remember who won... We will have to run more sessions to test them but they had fun!
Spent last saturday afternoon painting the flames on these efrits for Dungeon Saga by Mantic with a friend. He did the one on the left while I did the other two. I know the one on the middle needs less white paint but I'm very happy with the effect! Matt had another technique which I really love too! It was actually a challenge because none of us delt with fire before, and we jumped into it we no knowledge or tutorial whatsoever...
Unboxing “Dungeon Saga: The Infernal Crypts”
How fast has “Mantic France” been! That is awesome!!! I ordered my copy of “The Infernal Crypts” this wednesday and received it today! That is cool! I’m also gonna thank the team for being so careful and really paying attention to what customers ask (I am not paid and do not gain anything from this, but I simply needed to put forward the humanity of Mantic as opposed to some famous rivals...).
This being said, I wanted to share with you a bunch of feelings that came to me as I unboxed this expansion set for “Dungeon Saga”. As all DS box so far, the look of the box itself is just beautiful! You get the feeling that you are holding a precious spellbook.
Well... Yeah I know... more miniatures to paint... I also ordered the legendary versions for two new heroes included in this expansion!
The first things you see once you open the box is the questbook, the datasheet for all the new minions - that said “Infernal” right? So daemons are gonna kick some asses I hope! I must say that there are some shrewd ideas (like the lava pools heroes have to cross, the rocks to jump above the pools, or - without spoiling the surprise for my players/readers - some skills for the minions themselves). The questbook includes 6 new quests, which will allow the GM to pretend to be a daemon for a while!
You do get something totally different in terms of gameplay than what you had as a necromancer, and that’s refreshing to have a new role as GM! Okay, that was a dream to become an Arch-Daemon... granted!
You also get a few new hero cards: I knew about Venetia and Arianya (just these two ladies nearly made me buy the box) and they look promising to play/fight against! But I don’t know how to feel about Orlaf v2 and Danor v2... I’m calling them like that on purpose here...
Don’t get me wrong! From the stand alone you do already have the cards for Orlaf/Danor both “standard” and “legendary” versions (though the miniatures are sold separately). This new box offers “Ragran” (a blond version of Orlaf with very very close stats/skills) and Semential (Danor wearing green...).
I’m sorry here, but that seems a bit cheap to me... Not only do pictures on the cards are THE SAME with different colours but you don’t even get the minis, so you either get them from another dungeon crawler (I’m lucky I already have plenty from older games) or you buy another set of basic heroes...
To say that I was disappointed is the least you could say... You can find a few differences in the legendary versions, so I’ll be curious to try an arena opposing legendary Orlaf vs legendary Ragran and legendary Danor vs legendary Semential.
But let’s move on to the greatest part of the box(es as usual): the miniatures!!! After all, that is why you buy such a game in the first place! That clearly put an end to my disappointment... If you went through my blog in the past months, you know I have started a daemon army for Warhammer (old/40K) and started thinking about a “Forces of the Abyss” army for Kings of War...
Well... there you go... Effrits, Molochs, Succubis and lower abyssals are all in the box! The miniatures are finely detailed, smooth to touch and already look ready for battle with that red plastic! It is time to mention that mantic clearly pays attention to the non-modelist gamer, who wants a “ready to play” collection of minis! No work needed, if you don’t want to bother painting, the plastic allows you to identify undeads from heroes from abyssals from bosses! Having been through a whole regiment of daemons (early 2000′s bloodletters), I am not afraid of that small bunch of daemons and I can’t wait till I get my hands and brushes on the Molochs and the boss!
Finally, the tiles! Not really much to say (apart from lava stuff) which completes the set of “hell-like” tiles you get in the stand alone. But... but... but you get a big 8x11 tile consisting either of a “classic” dungeon floor OR the amazing lava pool you can see below! Also included are a bunch of tokens and some more tiles allowing either to play in lava/hell-like terrain, or to further enhance your dungeons.
Well, to conclude I must say that I’m quite excited at what I’m getting in this box! The only negative point being the Barbarian v2 and Wizard v2. Maybe the advanced system - which I don’t have since it has not yet been released in France - does not allow to create much difference when you create the same type of hero, but if that’s the case, then you don’t just copy/paste them, you either don’t put them at all, or you create new ones!
The thought of having my heroes crawl into the Abyss is thrilling, and I am impatient to read the fluff in the questbook (which makes it a pleasure to be a GM). Added to the possibility of building my dungeons myself or play “uncharted” ones makes it all the more enjoyable!
@fairywitches, @yuukisinon, @warhammergamingpgm, @claaraa1503: three of you readers already went through Hell in the previous episodes... Well... More is to come, don’t worry!
Qualin Tavas - The end
Last part or the arc in the Forest of the Dead (Qualin Tavas in Elvish). Early in today’s game, Arashle the Banshee mourned in order to call for some more wraiths. A bright green image of a ghost appeared. The heroes could feel Jinx’s presence.
Kirito did well once again! He went west and in the ruins of a tower, he found a second piece of the Banshee’s heart. With five turns left, Kirito already had half of the pieces himself.
Later, it was Merlin’s turn to find a third piece. Even though the wraith next to him froze him right away, that was three quarters of the pieces found. To make things worse, skeletons starting rising from the ground and Elshara started moving as well, near the centre of the map, which was soon to become crowded, and more difficult to make one’s way through...
The final piece was found by the dwarf. During the last turn, it would be quite complicated to gather all the pieces to one hero considering how they had spread through the forest.
Hopefully, the wraiths failed to “freeze” the heroes, and Elshara’s attempt at lamenting failed too. WHich now paved the way for the heroes to gather somewhere at some point... Kirito took the lead, shouting orders at people stuck in the North and East maps to run as far as possible towards the centre.
The heroes also decided to pass the pieces to each other as they moved through the sinewy ways, but the best advice, again suggested by Kirito was to try to give the pieces to the Elf’s wolf, since it could run faster than any of the group.
The pieces were finally brought together! The Banshee disappeared from the Known World, and from Qualin Tavas, thus freeing Jinx and Azog. All credit mainly goes to Kirito, who was the one to lead the heroes towards victory, to Merlin who suggested avoiding the skeletons and who got a piece of the heart, and finally to the wolf, who was rewarded with all the remains of the bones of the skeletons...

I must thank @claaraa1503 for today’s pictures.
Next in “Durgear Quest”: some Dungeon Saga with @fairywitches, @yuukisinon, @claaraa1503 and @warhammergamingpgm
The quest in Qualin Tavas continues. The heroes are looking for the pieces of Arashle's heart in the Forest of the Dead. They all went different ways trying to focus on finding the treasure chests containing the artifacts. Kirito decided to push his way through the skeletons and to ignore tham as much as possible. Following his leadership, the central area is close to being clearef as Arashle and Jinx's wraith disappeared in two different zones still to search. They have 6 turns left before Jinx and Azog definitely remain as haunting shapes... Will they be brought back to life? Follow us next week to check... @yuukisinon @fairywitches @warhammergamingpgm
Qualin Tavas
Good evening guys! I’m sorry the following is going to be in french... This is the introduction I wrote for the new quest: Qualin Tavas, an elvish name for an eerie forest.
This is also a reminder for @yuukisinon, @fairywitches and @warhammergamingpgm
