Check out this new joint Alpine by the homies Prypyat. Pripyat is a radioactive Russian ghost town near Chernobyl. Prypyat is Duncan Webster from HNMTF and Leah Gibson of Lost in the Trees and Bowerbirds. They play meandering tunes that sound like the sound of stepping outside right as the sun comes out and birds start singing and a squirrel runs out in front of you with a bag of acorns. ENJOY

GILLIAN ROSE GALDY Façade of Aves October 19, 2012- November 16, 2012 Opening Reception October 19th 6-9pm at Durty Durham Art Collective

DURTY is pleased to present Façade of Aves, Gillian Rose Galdy’s first solo show with DURTY and her second in Durham. Façade of Aves will feature six etchings that represent Galdy’s perception of Western culture’s state of self and society’s obsession with masking vanity and labeling sex.

Façade of Aves is a combination of intaglio etching and chine-colleé, using found and hand-printed paper.

Galdy currently lives in Chatham County and works in Durham.
