Nichelle Nichols has passed away.Â
Martin Luther King once convinced her to continue on as Uhura when she was about to quit. He told her how she was a role model for so many people and had to stay on. He rightfully recognized her as a trailblazer and the inspiration she continued to be.Â
(Second picture is Nichols participating in a recruitment program for NASA in late 70s/early 80′s, aimed at women and people of color. The third picture is Nichols onboard the stratospheric observatory for infrafred astronomy in 2017, as one of the first non essential personell to be able to do so)Â
Join us tonight in Northrend Dalaran for Tauren night at the Lounge! We have a specially prepared menu with delicious food straight from Mulgore.
Remembrance Day in Tirisfal and Darkshore
Alliance and Horde gathered in Tirisfal on Friday night and Darkshore on Saturday night to have memorial ceremonies to those that lost their lives in the Battle of Lordaeron and the War of Thorns.Â
Guests were able to step up to speak on those that were lost or on hope for the future. Prayers were made, poems were read and together everyone bowed their heads in moments of silence. At the end tokens were laid before the fireline in Tirisfal or on the shore of Darkshore.Â
The fallen were remembered.
The Saberguard has been busy! We’ve been thrilled to work alongside our friends and allies in the Wolfmane Tribe as we fight against the Nightmare in the Broken Isles. Though we lost a soldier along the way, we have destroyed the active root coming from Shaladrassil. News is getting to us of horrors happening in Highmountain and we now know that the Fal’dorei are definitely up to something in Suramar.Â
Two Duskwatch guards disappeared from guard duty in Meredil. Tracks were found close to the Val'sharah border so the Saberguard mounted up and followed the trail. After discovering torn pages of a journal that speaks of whispers and betrayal, the unit was suddenly ambushed by one of the guards and a group of satyrs. Forced to retreat, the Saberguard regrouped in Kaldorei territory to heal and rest.
The Saberguard were alerted to a ward being tripped in Falanaar. They quickly moved out to check on the Fal'dorei, using old tunnels to enter in the hopes they wouldn't be noticed. Unfortunately, the unit discovered the Fal'dorei knew they were coming and were in fact mobilizing. A large force had gathered, forcing the Saberguard to retreat back to Meredil.
The Duskwatch Saberguard did some mounted training over the weekend in Meredil. We even had a visitor come out so we could have an audience.
Patrol Captain Loviattar and First Glaive Kyndora make sure the roads of Duskwood are safe from any undead or animated scarecrows that might threaten it!
The Duskwatch Saberguard finished their mission of studying the leylines and Great Tree in Duskwood. Before leaving, however, they chose to take care of a villain that had made himself at home at an abandoned farm.
Joining up with the local Duskwood defense force, the Saberguard was able to take out a necromancer and his odd scarecrow creations while also rescuing captured civilians.Â
After the battle the Saberguard returned to their camp, gathered their things and started on their journey back to Meredil... which was literally just jumping through a portal for them. They were in their own beds by daylight.
More screenshots of our mission and trip into Duskwood! We were being watched by a ghost knight!
(screenshots courtesy of the excellent Alliance RPers we met in Duskwood! Definitely go out there and RP with them!)
The Duskwatch Saberguard suddenly received orders to take on a mission to the Eastern Kingdoms, particularly the Deadwind Pass and Duskwood. The unit met and took a portal to Stonard where they started their journey to study the leylines in Deadwind Pass.Â
Upon reaching a good spot to tap into and study the lines, the group suddenly found themselves being greeted and watched by nearby Alliance and Duskwood locals. Before things could turn civil or not, the group suddenly noticed a strange mist creeping up the Deadwind Pass. After fighting off spiders and fleeing the odd mist that reached out for them with shadowy fingers, the group met with the Alliance in a very tense moment just inside the border of Duskwood.
The Shal’dorei were shown a relatively safe place to camp and while Captain Loviattar took First Glaive Kyndora for a secret meeting on their mission, the local friendly ghost knight Thomas Bates gave the Saberguard a history lesson on Duskwood. As the groups parted, tensions were still running high and the Saberguard’s mission still had not been completed...
Learning about the history of the Arcan'dor during class in Shal'aran. Afterwards we were able to successfully treat a withered that was captured in the Crimson Thicket.
The unit ventured out into the northern and eastern parts of Suramar to check on locations of interest. We set up runes at those key spots in order to maintain surveillance on the creatures and peoples that live there.
We're totally not spying on our enemies, nope, not us! 😸
Our first time with the Menagerie Boutique was great! We had a lot of customers and some great RP! Lots of wine and plush sabers were sold. Can't wait for the next one!
If a felsaber plush is your style, we have those! Come to the Menagerie Boutique tonight in Dalaran! (our saber art was done by the great artist, Nythallas!)
