Hey guys, I've got a new track coming out on Friday called 'Atlas In Your Eye'. It was written specifically for the movie Jasper Jones, which came out on Thursday.

The film is an adaptation of the award winning novel by Craig Silvey, set in rural Western Australia in 1965. The track was inspired heavily by the story, and also an amazing poem that Craig sent me which summed up the book in some really powerful images.

My debut album is out today!

It marks a pretty massive milestone on this journey and also makes me take stock and look back at the last little while, at how much has happened and how far the project has come. I'm so excited to share this music with you, it's been both a challenge and a pleasure to write and put together, but I'm really proud of the result. I couldn't have done it without the amazing people I have around me so thank you to everyone involved, and thank you to all of you out there who are listening to the music, sharing it, singing it, and letting it become a part of your lives.

Firstly, I'm very excited to tell you that I'll be hitting the road in August to do a big run of live shows. I think when I first started out I took for granted how special playing live music can be - I was so used to working in the studio that I felt really exposed and out of my depth on stage. I've got an awesome band behind me, and I've been working hard to translate these new tunes onto the stage really convincingly. Fan pre-sale starts today - all the dates and details are below. Along with that, I recently made this cool little clip for 'First Light' with director Christopher Frey. We spent a few days in one of my favourite getaway spots, Daylesford, shooting the footage and hanging out. I really wanted to capture that feeling of discovering the world in a new way with someone you really connect with, and how at the beginning everything can seem a little surreal. It was a really fun trip. Thanks to Chris, Alice and the whole crew for being awesome.

It’s been a huge journey to get to this point, but I can now happily say I have a debut album and it’s ready for the world! It’s called ‘First Light’ and will be released on Friday 5 August. The lead single, also called 'First Light’ is out tomorrow, and you can check it out at bit.ly/FirstLightSingleYT If you’re a triple j listener and you’re enjoying the track, I’d love your support by requesting 'First Light’ on the station’s text line on 0439 757 555. I wrote this song after a long and sleepless drive down the east coast, and for me it’s about those first sacred moments falling for someone, and how exciting that can feel. When I listen to this song it feels like I’m gazing though coloured memories, kind of in the same way we often look at the night sky… In awe, transfixed and perhaps searching for some tiny details that lay light years out of reach. I feel like this is a pretty massive milestone, as in a way it’s been a few years in the making… exploring the moments, collecting the stories, and meeting incredible people along the way that have helped me in so many ways to create and capture this body of work. I also felt for a while there that I was writing and making music in the shadow of 'The Breach’ and the chapter of life that defined it. I found it quite difficult to ignore the fact that those initial songs had connected in the way that they did and for a while I was trying to re-create that maybe, and not surprisingly it wasn’t working that well. For whatever reason, over the last twelve months or so, I’ve been able to get back to a clean slate in a sense. So these are really the first sounds I feel I’ve created out of that shadow - and back into the light. Thank you always for your support, and I hope you enjoy this next chapter. Dustin

Today is an awesome day... Today my mini-album 'Home' makes it way out into the world!

I've been working on this music for what seems like forever, but now it's finished and waiting eagerly to journey out into the air and your ears. Grab it here. I'm really proud of these songs, and of the stories they tell. Some of my favourite musical moments (from a creative point of view) were captured here... Working with Thelma Plum on my new single 'Silk' was incredible (listen in the video below), and putting the string parts together with the help of Tilman Robinson was a pretty magical process. Thanks to all the musicians who played on the record, and to everyone behind the scenes for their support and for helping me get this across the line! I hope you all enjoy this new music, and with luck I'll be playing near you very soon (my tour starts tonight!). Now, off to start the next one! Dustin
