✨An Introduction ✨
Hello! Bonjour! Gutentag! Hallo!
I am writing this post to properly introduce myself and my langblr to the universe! On this blog I will share my language learning progress, as well as some tips on learning Dutch!
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Elisabeth. I live in the Netherlands and have the Dutch nationality. For as long as I can remember, besides making art, I have loved languages. I naturally gravitated towards it, not sure why. I devoured books, my reading level rising above my classmates's, just couldn't get enough of books! Thankfully this is still the case.
Since about fifth grade, groep 7 in the Netherlands, I got lessons in English. At first it was hard, but I loved the challenge. Sadly my high school career wasn't as joyful, and I didn't get classes like German or French. English was painfully unchallenging, and I had to argue with my teachers who were doubtful about my intelligence level to be "bumped" to the appropriate level. Imagine being at level C1 in a language and being stuck at A1 because teachers didn't believe you could do it. Now imagine my frustration! I sure showed them, though.
And now I am thirty, studying German and French at my own pace. I am really enjoying the process. I am planning on adding many more languages to my vocabulary collection, possibly tutoring when time allows for it.
Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy my blog, and the posts I leave behind on it.
Love, Elisabeth
