Diedi’s body jolted at the sudden touch and air caught in his throat, and his heart began to pound against his chest. It was in that moment that his body filled with dread; he thought for an instant second that Daniel was going to harm him. Instead, it was a hug. A shaky, relieved exhale escaped his lips as he melted into Daniel’s embrace. His knees felt weak again and he couldn’t bring himself to move, he simply stared absent-mindedly ahead with his lips parted slightly as he tried to muster up the question what are you doing? He felt his ears brush again against Daniel’s face and he tilted his head to the side to remove them with the same dumb-founded expression pasted on his face throughout it, the tears from earlier coming to a stop within that moment.

Diedi finally found his strength and slowly lifted his arms to wrap them loosely around Daniel’s larger frame. “D-Danny…” he managed, finally tightening his hold and gripping the cloth on the back of Daniel’s shirt with his dainty hands. He buried his face in Daniel’s chest as he tried to pace his breathing and his heart rate. Maybe Danny is… Nice? he mentally reconsidered his personality for the third time. Diedi sniffled, feeling the heat being released from his body due finally calming down. His thoughts, thankfully, were rolling in more clearly and Diedi let out a soft, breathy, laugh. “Thank you so much… Thank you… Thank you… For keeping it a secret.” A small smile played out across Diedi’s lips, grateful beyond his own comprehension that Daniel decided to keep his secret. Of course, Daniel could have been not telling the truth but Diedi hadn’t quite learned the land of lies yet resulting in that possibility not crossing his mind. After giving Daniel one last squeeze, he leaned back and stared up at him. “Really, you can’t tell anyone. They’ll kill me. Um… You’re not freaked out?” His eyebrows uplifted worriedly, his large dark brown eyes skeptical, and he pressed his lips into a concentrated line.

Suddenly, an idea placed itself in Diedi’s head and those big eyes broadened. He figured it was appropriate to give his reason for not quite understanding the earlier instructions. “And you see, I’ve only been human for a few months now which is why I messed up but please don’t worry! It won’t happen again, because I get it now. I mean, if there is an again but I’m sure you hate me now and I truly am sorry for my mistake and…” he rambled on, his words gradually getting more and more mumbled, quiet, and sped up till he his sentences were impossible to make out.

"Shh, DieDi. Its okay." Danny stroked the boys back as he rambled, pressing a soft kiss to his forehead. "Everything is okay." He pulled back and gave him a soft smile, wiping a few stray tears from his cheeks. "Have you eaten yet today?"

Diedi stared up at Daniel in horror, “You…” he whispered. “You can’t tell anyone! Please!” he pleaded. “Please!” He covered his face, trembling. It was the icing on the cake, he thought. All he wanted to do was apologize and explain what he’d done for Daniel but instead, Daniel found out Diedi’s secret. Why is this all happening? Was it fate? Was his knowledge of the situation meant to be? He shook his head, taking slow steps back. He wanted to burst out the front door and never come back. But more than anything, he wished he’d never cleaned Daniel’s house. If he hadn’t, this wouldn’t be happening. It’s my fault after all… I have to deal with this. He knew he had to stay and explain yet another thing, a much more important thing. “Please don’t tell anyone,” he repeated.

Daniel stared for a few more moments. At his ears, at his red eyes, his puffy face, his wet cheeks. The boy seemed so...so scared. It was then and there that his heart did a 180. DieDi was so helpless. And he knew why, now. I need to take care of him.. He walked forward, grabbing the boys shoulders, pulling him back into his arms. He held DiDi close to his chest, stroking his back. "Shh... it's okay. Stop crying, DieDi. I won't tell. I won't tell anyone. Shh." He spoke in a soft tone, trying to calm him down.
