The illness has only been spreading for a couple weeks now. The world wasn’t prepared for something like this. The illness had a weird way of shrinking any person who had it. They would be reduced to only a few inches.
It was a sudden thing as well, you won’t know you have the illness till it’s too late.
That’s why many of the people who got it ended up missing. No one knows what happens to them. Some say they were picked up by birds or wild animals or are just hiding because of fear.
Roman and Ethan were both rivals in the same academy. Both always fighting for the top spot. It was always a rotation one year Roman would get it the other Ethan would.

He’s built heavily athletic, with broad shoulders, thick arms, and a muscular chest.
The two hated each other not only because of the top spot but because of the fact Roman would always steal Ethan’s girls while Ethan always stole Roman’s girls.
Ethan’s mother would always scold him for not getting top spot but even when he did get it, she would never seem impressed.
Roman came from a rich family his father always expected him to come out on top and if he didn’t he was seen as a disappointment.
It was three days after the exam Ethan took first this year. Roman was angry he was looking for Ethan.
I’m going to ripe that smirk off his face Roman thought to himself. He made it to Ethan’s dorm opening it. The door was styled warmly. The academy provided large dorms for every student. The dorms were more like a small apartment.
“Ethan! I know you’re here!” Roman yelled but no one responded. He looked around and there was nothing.
He must be celebrating Roman sneered at the thought.
He was about to walk out of there when he heard shuffling.
“I knew you were here” he grumbled walking towards the sound to find nothing. He looked around confused.
“I need to get more sleep” Roman muttered turning to walk away. When he saw movement. He looked behind the trashcan to see Ethan but so much smaller.
“What the fuck” Roman whispered eyes wide with shock.
The illness hit him suddenly. Ethan had just got the results seeing he was the top student.
He was proud and hopefully his mom would be too. He went to his dorm ready to sleep off the worries now. Suddenly he felt dizzy.
Ethan stumbled suddenly feeling light headed. When he felt his body shrink. Everything was growing bigger. No he was shrinking smaller.
“No, no, no” Ethan scrambled frantically trying to stop it but it was no use.
Ethan looked up around himself. He don’t know how this illness worked but Atleast his clothes shrunk with him. Maybe it was the air.
He was panicking to much to process it.
He looked around frantically his breath coming his a sharp gasps.
He heard the door open and someone yelled for him.
It was Roman. Ethan couldn’t let him see him like this. Who knows what he will do. He ran behind the trash can trying his best to hide. He shut his eyes tightly his breathing fast and uneven.
Then everything went quiet he moved to peak out when he heard Roman coming his way. He whimpered curling up trying his best to stay quiet.
Then a shadow loomed over him. He jerked back when he saw Roman looking at him.
“What the fuck” Roman whispered. Ethan fell back scrambling away “no, go away” he said quickly. Curling up shutting his eyes tightly.
