oh absolutely, one HUNDRED percent. in the modern au, hendrick is much more prone to shenanigans (gee i wonder where jack gets it from...) so he'd absolutely do something like this. edmund finds it charming most of the time, but sometimes hendricks shenanigans interfere with his work and he has to have a conversation with him.
other shenanigans would probably include some sort of impromptu hide and seek like game, hendrick very much likes playing a game of cat and mouse with his husband, especially when it ends with being smothered with kisses at the end. assuming social media exists, hendrick would probably see a lot of those couples pranks. he'd do some that were actually funny, but he genuinely despises pranks that cause emotional whiplash to the partner. he would never mess with any of edmunds baking stuff, and unless he's invited, he does his best to stay out of the kitchen entirely because he knows it stresses edmund out.
