i see a lot of posts by xiv players who have never played wow trying to talk down to wow players, about how ‘everyone plays xiv for the story and wow people just wanna raid’, etc. xiv community is constantly claiming they’re so much better than wow players, and yet they generalize this and immediately put wow players down. rant under cut.

i’m an xiv player of two and a half years and a wow player of one. wow’s endgame is easier to get into, yes, but i know plenty of people who don’t raid. just like in xiv, there are people who rp (and i would honestly say the wow rp communities are so much more expansive than the xiv ones, at least in game), there are people who just want to level, et cetera. i don’t know where xiv fans get the idea that wow players don’t care about lore. where do you think our horde and alliance debates come from? our lorebooks? our well-loved rp characters, our complaints about the story- where?

stop getting on a high horse because you play xiv. every time you exclude wow players, because xiv has SO MUCH BETTER COMMUNITY, AND WE CARE ABOUT THINGS BESIDES PARSES, you know what you’re doing?

you’re proving this community as far, far worse.
