Their families would be at each other’s throats before either of them could say a word and they would both be under constant surveillance. Derek maneuvered his girlfriend so she was pressed against the door with his body caging her. He pushed a strand of her hair back behind her ear, his finger tips following the curve of her cheek. “Those were all very good days,” his eyes were drawn to her lips. He caught them in a kiss, eyes closed and reveling in her taste. Derek would never grow tired of kissing Gabriella. She was intoxicating from beginning to end and it was hard for him to keep to himself when they were out in the public eye. “I promise we will get there some day.”

They continued their banter as they entered their apartment building, the space that they rented out together under assumed names. Derek led up the stairs and passed their floor up to the rooftop. The building was mostly abandoned save for the landlord and maintenance crew. It made the roof their secret getaway, hidden from prying eyes. On this night, he’d decorated the place himself with fairy lights and lay a blanket out on the center with a picnic for two. He was tough, but he knew that his girl liked to be romanced and dammit, that was exactly what he planned to do.

I know – I’m like a bonafide genius. You could make any game a stripping game. Like, imagine strip Candyland. It’d be like a Katy Perry music video. Something that gets your heart racing and makes a good story, hm, I could think up a couple things. Good bar stories – I would know, because I’m totally twenty-one – always end in sex. But they begin with getting a little too drunk, probably at another bar. And like, something wild happens in between. Like, you have to outrun the cops because they saw you trying to skinny dip into the Hudson River – which in hindsight is really nasty and can probably kill you. My stories always end up naked in some form… that’s bad isn’t it? 

Has anyone ever told you, you talk a lot? Wow. Strip!Candyland would be pretty hot. Are you speaking from experience? Have y o u  had to outrun the cops and jumped into a river? I have to agree with you on the good bar stories, they always come from a place of bad decisions. That’s what makes them so much fun. You sound like your stories are a BLAST to hear about. Maybe you should share a couple with me?

Sorry, I’m just a little paranoid about the whole situation. We’ve been doing so well at keeping the secret, I feel like it’s only a matter of time before it all comes out. A code name would be great. I think she needs the name of a specific flower. She’s not so generic as to have a remotely common nickname.
