â2024⊠Wait, five years?!â She anticipated a difference of a few months, or a year or two, but five? She couldnât help but wonder how disorientating it must be, not only finding yourself in a different space entirely, but time as well. If anything, she was thankful she only went back in time by a year or soâ plus the fact that parts of this city resembled home made getting used to the place somewhat easier, even despite the fact that she still wanted to go back home.
âHmm⊠I dunno. I mean, I should technically be 17 now, butâŠâ Haruka shrugs. Her birthday may have passed twice while she was here, yet she certainly didnât feel any older. Not that it was something she really thought about much. âUh⊠As far as I know, if we were to like⊠I guess go back to where we were originally, itâd be like the exact point in time we were takenâŠ? Iâm not sure, Iâve been here for almost a year and a half.â
« what the hell? » he had so many questions. questions that might fill a substantial amount of time by themselves, but the likelihood of receiving answers here was slim to none. her response was much more honest than he had anticipated. so there were things that shocked even veterans of whatever this place was supposed to be. how he would have liked to be able to smirk and take advantage of how thrown she was, make light of the whole thing. it was a lot to wrap his head around, but it was entertaining if nothing else could be garnered from withholding that strategy for now. it had definitely been worth asking.
« they should really include a handbook. i figure they get a kick out of us trying to figure things out, but it wouldnât kill them to give us some hints. but yeah, five years. itâs one thing to watch some character in sci-fi jump through time and itâs pretty surreal to experience it yourself. what about you? what year was it where you lived before showing up here? i canât even picture being here that long, but if weâve got no say in the matter... »
