Rare 1940's Photomatic Photobooth For Sale

I'm selling my 1940's Photomatic photo booth. Take a look and contact me if you are interested. I hate to see it go but it would be a while before I have the time to do this machine the justice of getting her up and running. I purchased it in 2009 with the intentions of restoring it and I didn't get far. I've always loved photo booths and for anyone else who does, they know the Photomatic made by the International Mutoscope corporation in Queens NY is something of a lost classic. The unique framed photos these machines produced are collectible today. I don't know of anyone who has a functioning Photomatic and as far as I've been able to gather, there aren't many of these things out there in the world at present in any condition. I believe this to be a 1940's machine. It is complete and it is only partially dismantled (as you see here). Instructions for users of the booth. Coin slot and photo delivery slot, Detail of seat in the booth. Stainless tanks for chemistry and water at the top of the booth.

"User interface" complete with instructions for taking your own photo and adjusting the lens mirror to your height. This was sold or serviced by Mike Munves at some point. Details of some wiring and electromechanical components, Also there is a magazine bracket or holder that held 3 stacks of unexposed images. I have not replaced and wiring but the machine does power on and those fluorescent lights will turn on.

More awesome inner workings! Electromechanical contact wheel/plate. Chemistry trough. Chemistry pumps with new hoses on them (I still have the old hoses but they are toast). Fuses and more wiring. Display on the outside of the booth.

Mirror hood (removed) that goes over the lens. The lens points upward so the arrangement is something like what you will find in an SLR. Water tank from top of booth (currently it has some of the parts in it and old hoses). Last photo here shows the lens one the right and the light chamber where the image is re-exposed to light as part of the direct positive development process. I know the lens is dirty… sorry! The whole is a bit dusty inside since I haven't touched it for a few years. The lens itself is pretty neat… made by Wollensack of NY especially for the Photomatic.
