what's your top 5 birds im curious
gonna try to have only one per bird family lest this list gets full of corvids and columbidae (also very hard to narrow it down to just 5 birs..)
#1: PIGEON!!!!!!
they r called rock doves cuz they rock... if pigeons have no fans I'm no longer alive. if the world is against pigeons then i am against the entire world
photo taken by me, look at this kindly beautiful pigeon
#2: Crows!!!
I get alot of these guys where I live, my buds, also my fursona. Very smart guys, I've befriended a number of them and they're awesome, they always so hi to me when we pass and can remember faces real well. These photos are actually photos of said crow friends!! I show them to people like I'm showing someone pictures of a nephew
#3 Wandering Albatross!!
(aka the snowy albatross) Longest wingspan of birds (i am tall as fuck I relate to this heavy)!! Known to fly for very long periods of time they spend most of their life in the air flying over the Southern Ocean. One bird was recorded to have flown 6,000 km in 12 days (!!!!). Sailors are fond of them because they like to glide alongside ships, giving them a birdful sense of companionship amongst the dreary solitude of the ocean (and hell it probably goes both ways, gives the birds something to fly alongside and look at). Also they;re BIG!!! Look at them!!
#4 Cedar Waxwing!!
Actually the first bird I identified when I properly went out birding for the first time so very special birds to me. I like their chirps and also the way the feed is rlly cool!! If fruit is inaccessible/only on one branch, the birds nearest the fruit will pass food down a line to make sure everyone is fed (2nd picture)
#5 Woodcock!!!
Awesome groovy bird. I love water birds and I think it's rlly cool how we still don't exactly know why they groove like that. A bird that I rlly hope to see one day.
Honorable mentions go to: Ravens, mourning dove, turkey vultures, bearded vultures, dark eyed juncos, glaucous winged gulls, and wood pigeon.
