So, a lot has happened in the last few months, and I have shied away from dealing with anything that related to fanfiction, because I was feeling so overwhelmed with everything. I feel a lot of guilt over abruptly pausing my fic, and it's become a constant worry in the back of my mind. I'll catch myself writing in my notes when something I want to include in my story comes to me in the middle of the day, and then I'll feel so bad for not responding to any comments or chats that you guys send me and I don't know how I'll continue :( The next chapter sits in my drafts, half-written, but every sentence I write is just deeply unsatisfying and cringy that I want to scrap everything.

To give you guys a picture of what happened in the last few months in my life (if the topics of cancer and death are sensitive to you, please skip this part):

Lost my childhood best friend to cancer - experienced a sudden wave of grief because even though he told me he would die within the year, I didn't want to believe it - went to his funeral - couldn't write any stories any more because fiction and fantasy felt so so silly after experiencing the death of someone I held so dearly - lost all motivation after grieving over his grave - got myself a job instead - applied for my master's program - quit the job - got into my master's program after passing the aptitude test...

And now I'm moving for the second time this year! It's been a hell of a year to say the least (I'm also a full time student again, yay!).

I realized that it won't be any good to just continue writing the next chapter after everything, so I decided on a different approach. I'll review and partially edit every single chapter that I've written for TSOP to get a feeling for this story again and rediscover why it was so important to me. I've lowkey forgotten the earlier chapters anyway (it's really been a while), so in order to avoid plot holes and inconsistencies, I'll just read everything again :') If you wanna reread it with me, I'll put a "Edited" in the author's notes after each chapter I finish!

A million apologies for those who have waited so long. I'll have to ask you to be patient a little while longer. I won't be able to rewrite and review everything any soon, but I wanted to give a sign of life because I feel like I owe it to you. I hope I fall as deeply in love with this story like I did in the beginning! Just by looking at the first chapter, I experience a wave of nostalgia...

Love you lots. Pray for me that my new flat is going to be finished soon, y'all have no idea how lucky I was to get it in the first place in this economy, lol

thank you so much! unfortunately, when it rains it pours. Without going into detail, I recently lost a friend to cancer and it's been hard to focus on my fanfic. I'm still very much invested in finishing this story (tonights chapter will still go out), it will just take a lot longer than I anticipated. Please hug your friends and family extra hard today and remember to take care of your health!

life update :-)

it has been a while people, but don't worry, I haven't forgotten about my fic :') I was on the hunt for a job (I got one, so there's that) and my sister is getting married soon, so it's been a bit hard to sit down and focus on the story. But good news is that the next chapter is as good as written. B) It just need a few adjustments and go through my beta, but I can guarantee that there's going to be an update next week. I don't want to spoil too much, but it's also been mentally difficult to sit down and continue writing the chapter (it always is if the topic's kinda heavy) but don't worry! I'm a sucker for hurt with comfort :3

thank you so much, of course I don't mind! to be honest, I got the inspiration out of literally nowhere, the idea just popped into my head in the middle of dancing on a festival :'D Originally, Gojo was going to attend the university to investigate her and they were going to get to know each other because he'd try to flirt with Reader to get information and she'd be totally uninterested and weirded out by this strange guy, but I scrapped that idea because of several reasons. In the end, I just wanted to write a story about two lonely souls that truly see the other :')

which fic of yours has been your favorite to write

They all have their star moments, but I think the most consistent fun has been writing the first chapters of TSOP since it was really intriguing to write Gojo from the perspective of a person who doesn't know one thing about him! Like in the first ten chapters where she tries to figure him out and has all these ideas on how to outsmart him until she slowly begins to unravel him and discovers he's a half decent person (o˘◡˘o) I remember I wrote one chapter a day, literally glued to my laptop in the summer :'D

I also remember telling my beta at 4 AM how much I love writing because I was writing the lake + heist scene in what lies in the ocean...and for bound through time, I really enjoyed writing the festival chapter (chap 42) and the chapter where Reader and Suguru talk (chap 27) (ꈍ ᴗ ꈍ)

hello! <3 I'm not entirely sure how long the story will turn out to be, but I think it won't exceed 40 chapters. There are some very important plot points left and since I don't have any plans to write another fic after this, I'm kind of taking my sweet time to not have a rushed storyline :') Regarding what lies in the ocean, I honestly can't say what will happen to it...I do get some spurts of motivation to continue, but right now, I barely have enough time to write for TSOP, so it'll stay a wonky 'maybe' for now </3

i’m going to hold your hands when i say this and i am only going to be kind about it once: ai does not belong in fandom spaces, ever. not in writing, not in art, not in video, not at all. it does not matter how bad you want to see your favourite characters kiss, or how much you need a bit of help finishing a chapter, or whatever.

make friends with artists. commission somebody. learn to draw yourself. ask for a beta read. try a writing partnership. fandom spaces are communities, so engage with them! it is about the journey and the fact that we all love something enough to create and build together about that thing.

spending 30 seconds to kill a tree and get an AI to push out some soulless empty piece of “content” is antithetical to the entire point of being engaged with fandom, and if you’ve taken to doing this you should really reconsider if you belong in these spaces with the rest of us.

hello! the story is not abandoned, i promise :) I‘m currently in the midst of packing my things and moving to the other end of the country, so there hasn‘t been much time to write </3 the next chapter is already half-way written, so i hope i can post it by the 5th of april at the latest 🫶🏼
