Red Velvet really liked his little sister. Perhaps a bit too much, considering he had decided to make a trip to the Dark Cacao Kingdom after one simple request for more white chocolate.
If he had an ulterior motive - namely, hand-delivering a letter addressed to a very specific First Watcher - well... Matcha didn't have to know about that part.
The wilds outside the walls were as cold as ever. He really needed to figure out something that worked better to retain his body heat that didn't involve wearing seven different jackets layered on top of each other. It made it hard to move around.
His tail wagged as he waited for Caramel Arrow to make her way to their clearing.

Caramel Arrow had her duties, maybe not enough of them at times. She was often left revisiting them multiple times over to ensure no mistakes were made, and to stave off boredom. It was days like this, however, where she seemed more than happy to finish her duties swiftly and go "scout around", at least that is what she always told anyone who asked. Not like they pry her with questions either way.
Compared to anyone not native to these lands, they seemed the least bit bothered by the frigid cold. Part of it was that their clothes were specifically tailored to keep them warm without causing hindrances, but even still most at least wore something else on top of that as extra protection. That was Caramel Arrow for you, I suppose. As strong as ever, in many different ways.
The nervous fluttering in their stomach became more apparent as they approached the clearing that they knew so well by now. She always felt nervous when seeing him, though it wasn't in a bad way by any means. She never let that hinder her steps, however, and soon she met with the other, giving him a smile and a quick wave before they spoke.
"Happy to see you again, Vel."
"Mel!" he said with a grin, "How have you been? Crunchy Chip giving you any trouble? Still holding up okay with everything?"
He could hear his tail wagging behind him. He tried to slow it down by thinking really hard at it. Said tail did not slow in its movements. Damn.
"Oh! By the way, I have... a letter for you... somewhere in these pockets..." he patted his coat pockets, then the ones on his pants.
...It's in one of the inner pockets, isn't it..?
"...I'll give it to you later! I know I packed it, I just- anyways. Uh..."
He paused in his panic, slowly meeting Caramel Arrow's eyes. Their very pretty, very nice-looking eyes. He spent more time than he could admit thinking about her eyes. And her hair. And her laugh.
"...Hi," Red Velvet said, intelligently.
"I've been well, Crunchy Chip's actually been on the calmer side as of recent, though I think he might be plotting something at the point.."
She sighed, though with a hint of fondness towards the fool who was like a brother to her. She expected nothing less from her fellow warrior, and he kept her on her toes, so she couldn't truly complain.
Caramel Arrow's head tilted as they watched Velvet attempt — and failing — to find this letter of his. They could assume he had lost it amongst the layers of clothing he wore, but they decided not to point it out, save him some embarrassment even if they were snickering at him. Something about it was rather endearing, or maybe they just felt bad for him.
She waved her hand gently, "Hello, again.. and it's alright, I have plenty of time. You know, I know a few tailors around here that could make you some proper attire for this weather. I'd hate for you to lose anything else."
"That's great! I can help you figure out what he's plotting, maybe? If you want?"
He returned the wave with a small one of his own, face flushing as he realized his mistake.
Witches, now they're going to think I'm- bad! Greeting them twice, what am I, an amateur??
The hybrid let out a nervous chuckle as he rubbed at the back of his head, "Tailors, huh? That's a really generous offer, Mel, it's just... I'm not sure if they'd be alright with having a customer who's part... cake."
Red Velvet gestured helplessly at his cake arm. It had never bothered the archer, or the other Cookies of Darkness, but whenever he tried to go into other towns for supplies, he'd get anything from dirty looks to complete refusals to give him service.
He didn't mind it. Truth be told, he didn't know what it was like to live without the arm Dark Enchantress had gifted him.
"And I didn't- lose the letter! It's just... buried. In the depths of my many layers. There is a difference. But, uh, I'll be able to give it to you as soon as we get somewhere a bit warmer."
"If you'd like to, I'd be happy to have you help uncover his plans, and Vel, I promise with me around, nobody would want to judge you. I can be pretty scary, y'know."
Caramel Arrow snickered softly, though it was a partial truth; people knew better than to attempt to be hostile to anyone with her around, least they face her wrath, or get reported to the king himself — maybe she was just a bit petty, but she didn't take disrespect. Not towards herself, nor towards her friends.
They raised a brow at his attempt to explain how it was different. Clearly, they weren't buying it, but they only shook their head with a grin.
A warm place, huh? They felt bad for the poor soul not accustomed to this weather.. like a land-lover with no sea-legs. Ice legs maybe? They'd have to think of a better term later.
"Right, rightt. Well, if you can fair the cold a bit longer, we can take a walk to one of the nearby campsites. They're heated for our travels after one too many cases of frostbite.. the medics got tired of it. I don't blame them." She shrugged, before continuing in more of a teasing tone, "There's also healthy food rations over there if you're hungry."
“Well, if you’re with me, then I suppose I won’t mind getting new clothes… it might even be fun,” he said, small smile on his face as he imagined shopping without all the weird looks.
Red Velvet very pointedly ignored the raised eyebrow Mel was giving him. Losing and misplacing were two very different things, obviously. No matter what anyone said.
He scoffed lightly, “C’mon, my cold resistance isn’t that bad! I haven’t gotten frostbite since we met!”
Our first meeting doesn’t count because we didn’t know each other yet.
He had been freezing in the snow, unprepared for the harsh weather, when the archer had appeared and offered him a hand.
It was the first time in recent memory a stranger hadn’t been scared off by his arm. Maybe that’s why Mel meant so much to him.
“But,” he suppressed a shiver, “Warm campsite does sound nice right about now… and I guess I’ll eat your healthy food. I still say snacks are just as filling, though.”
It had been a long-standing debate between the two; snacks versus meals. If Red Velvet was being truthful, he had been won over long ago. He mostly maintained his stance now because Caramel Arrow’s indignant expression was one of his favorite things about her. Always trying to fight for health and good fortune.
He gestured to her, “Lead the way, my favorite First Watcher.”
She'd nod, they'd have to plan for their little 'shopping spree' later. Though for now, she decided it was more important to warm her red pal up before his layers became useless.
His scoff was met with a playful eye roll.
"Good, good. I'll have you know, eating a warm meal is basically a rite of passage here," Caramel Arrow joked, a small grin on their face, "'Snack-eaters' are often left to fight the cold on their own."
They hoped the stupid grin was successfully held back from appearing on their face at Velvet referring to them as a favourite in any regard. It was a sweet compliment, that's all. They had gotten similar things many times before, so why did hearing it from him make their heart flutter?
Oh Witches, maybe she was falling ill. She hoped not.
"Of course, I shall escort you like you are the finest of royalty," They'd tease, before doing a small bow to further the statement, "This way, your highness."
She'd giggle, before leading him along, deciding a bit was funnier than fretting over a possible illness, or worse.

"...I'll give it to you later! I know I packed it, I just- anyways. Uh..."
He paused in his panic, slowly meeting Caramel Arrow's eyes. Their very pretty, very nice-looking eyes. He spent more time than he could admit thinking about her eyes. And her hair. And her laugh.
"...Hi," Red Velvet said, intelligently.

“First Choco” First Grain looks at her with a soft smile tucking her hair back
“It’s been a while friend how have you been?” She giggles softly knowing First Choco would be a little cold when answering back

-First Choco met First Grain's gaze, her stoic demeanor not once faltering. It was typical for the warrior, who was rather the opposite from that who was infront of her. A seasoned warrior and a gentle heart. Though, First Choco wouldn't lie; it was nice to see her again.-
“I have been well enough. Asides from tending to some problems it has not been much different here. How have you been fairing?”

-Jagae was simply just reading a book, something about the geography of the ocean. She'd tilt her book down, looking at Manju as though everything was normal.-
“What? I'm reading.”
“Heh, exactly.”
-She'd continue poking and tickling the other's ears gently, her own ears perking up almost playfully.-
“Can never argue back, because ya got a backbone of a soggy eclair.”
"Only when it comes to you~"
-She'd grin, pressing a kiss against his forehead. Jagae just shifted from where she had been sat up in order to commit poke, just essentially sitting on his lap. It seems freaky now and I think I need to be burned. Sigh. Anyways, she'd cease the pokes and attempted tickles for now, content to just gently playing with his hair while peppering kisses across his face.-
He sits there silently, occasionally kissing Jagae back.
-Jagae's new found tail wagged happily, as she hugged the other, her free hand still playing with the other's hair.-
“My favourite treasuree.”
"My favorite rival~... I have many."
-Jagae started snickering at that.-
“Ya are very dislikable, Foxie!”
"No I'm not~"
He pouts.
“M'hmm~”
-She'd hum, pressing a kiss to his cheek.-
“I think ya may be.”
-Jagae smiled, pecking Manju on the lips.-
"Well you love me~"
“I do, yes, but ya still annoy me to no end, don't cha? Such as interrupting my precious reading time.”
-She'd joke. She adored spending time with Manju, especially just like this where she didn't feel the need to pretend in public that they were just rivals. Given, that was more a personal choice but regardless.-
"You love meeee~"
“I doo.. Very, very much.”
-Jagae hummed.-
“So, so much. Ya are all mine.”
-She'd place a kiss on his lips.-
"And you're mine~"
“M'hmm~!”
-She'd unceremoniously roll of of him, sitting back beside Manju. She'd fix her hair up, as rolling does infact not keep your hair need, her ears twitching as she did.-

It took a little while for First Sprinkle Cookie to get to the colosseum, for good reason she was worried about First Egg Cookie interfering. She needed to let her colleagues know what was happening at least.

-First Choco Cookie had been busy with her own work, that being her people and matters of the colosseum. Really, she lacked much knowledge of what went on outside of her own bubble unless is was a massive interference. Hence, why she did not expect to see First Sprinkle anywhere around here. They were essentially polar opposites, given First Choco was a warrior, whilst First Sprinkle was a circus act.
As she approached, choco gladiators flanking behind her, First Choco Cookie lifted her chin. Just a glance, and the gladiators stopped, quickly leaving to continue their duties.-
“First Sprinkle.. You are the last I expected to see here. To what do I owe the pleasure?”
First Sprinkle Cookie looked worse for ware, she never really got the chance to clean herself up after the fight. But looking proper was the last thing she was worried about.
“First Choco… there’s a bit of a, problem… it’s First Egg again.”
“..I see, what happened this time? From the looks of it, nothing good. Anything you need, I will provide.”
-The normally tense warrior seemed to relax, if only slightly, in the presence of the other First Cookie. If anything, she knew she could trust the other cookie. Most of the first cookies, she did trust. Most.-
“First Egg Cookie made another one of her, magichanical contraptions. And I was the first one she ran into to test it on.. and now she’s able to use magic possession… on me?!”
The ringmaster was clearly not very happy about her current predicament. Even for her she didn’t think that prideful narcissist would go that far.
“First Milk got her to stop, temporarily through painful means, learned she could feel whatever I do through that, but i need help getting rid of the magic link… if i can even find where she put that device on me, I haven’t been able to find it, it’s small.”
“She did what.”
-It was more of a rhetorical question, as First Choco lifted a hand to pinch the bridge of her nose with a sigh. You would think literal witches would be far more.. put together then most cookies, but she supposed not. She swore, she was one of the only ones with it together at this point.-
“I see.. That old hag causes as much trouble as children do. I suppose I can help where I am able, and if not my blades work wonders in fixing things.”
-Always the violent one, but I suppose that is to be expected of a warrior, no? Afterall, she was one of the very few firsts who were out voted on how to handle the beasts. Look how that turned out.-
“Let’s hope it doesn’t get to that!” First Sprinkle would say at a quick speed, actually she rather prefer to find that little device quickly… the fact she can’t find it was still concerning however.
“She already made me attack my daughter and attempt to attack First Milk… I’m hoping to get rid of the link as fast as possible..”
“Good luck trying~!”
-First Choco simply ignored First Egg, acting rather amazingly as though she heard nothing. The hag wasn't her exact problem at the moment, it was a magick link, and if it was magick... It wouldn't be a permanent solution, only a temporary one, but it may buy them some time, and save them a headache, to figure out a permanent solution.-
“Well it's magick based, yes? A magick suppressor may temporarily help. It'll unfortunately also dampen your own, however if my theory is correct, it should make the link much weaker. That will buy you some much needed time, no? The only problem is finding one strong enough..”
She nods, it really was the only solution they could do at the moment.. they really needed time to get rid of it fully before First Egg does anything worse..
“If it buys time I’ll do it, the last thing anyone wants if for First Egg to do anything worse.”
“I heavily agree with you on that front.”
-The warrior sighed. Now she had to figure out how exactly to get a power suppressor strong enough to dampen the powers of even the Firsts. It would certainly be a difficult feat, but First Egg was far more annoying than attempting to get a magick device so she supposed she could bare it.
First Choco clapped her hands, a group of Choco Gladiators quickly flanking to her. She was swift and to the point, ordering them to fetch what she needed. In theory, combining some of the strongest spells and devices should work short term. She hoped it would, because that was not a headache she was willing to deal with. As the Gladiators left, First Choco returned to her cross armed stance.-
“I recommend you stay here, for the time being. Any issues that may arise; my warriors can quickly subdue until I have that suppressor complete.”
The ringmaster nods, it would make dealing with that rotten egg a lot easier if she tried anything. If there’s one thing she knew it’s that the gladiator of the colosseum, and First Choco herself, are not to be messed with. There was no chance that anything would happen if she stays, or at least that’s what she hopes.
“Good idea, thank you again First Choco..”
“Of course. I am happy to lend a hand where and when I can. Afterall, I consider you a.. friend, I suppose would be the word.”
-The warrior stated, with a polite bow of her head. She wasn't used to calling people 'friends'. Brother/Sister in-arms, comrades, she had called others that before and look how that turned out. Yet friend felt so foreign, but so correct. It was strange, but emotions were weakness, so she didn't linger upon it.-
“I can call for one of my Gladiators to escort you to a private room for your temporary stay, and I will ensure you are monitored closely until the magick suppressor is complete. Anything you need will be provided.”
Manju enters.

-Jagae was simply just reading a book, something about the geography of the ocean. She'd tilt her book down, looking at Manju as though everything was normal.-
“What? I'm reading.”
“Heh, exactly.”
-She'd continue poking and tickling the other's ears gently, her own ears perking up almost playfully.-
“Can never argue back, because ya got a backbone of a soggy eclair.”
"Only when it comes to you~"
-She'd grin, pressing a kiss against his forehead. Jagae just shifted from where she had been sat up in order to commit poke, just essentially sitting on his lap. It seems freaky now and I think I need to be burned. Sigh. Anyways, she'd cease the pokes and attempted tickles for now, content to just gently playing with his hair while peppering kisses across his face.-
He sits there silently, occasionally kissing Jagae back.
-Jagae's new found tail wagged happily, as she hugged the other, her free hand still playing with the other's hair.-
“My favourite treasuree.”
"My favorite rival~... I have many."
-Jagae started snickering at that.-
“Ya are very dislikable, Foxie!”
"No I'm not~"
He pouts.

-She'd hum, pressing a kiss to his cheek.-
“I think ya may be.”
-Jagae smiled, pecking Manju on the lips.-
"Well you love me~"
“I do, yes, but ya still annoy me to no end, don't cha? Such as interrupting my precious reading time.”
-She'd joke. She adored spending time with Manju, especially just like this where she didn't feel the need to pretend in public that they were just rivals. Given, that was more a personal choice but regardless.-

He sits down next to her.

-She'd glance at him, not moving the book from infront of her face.-

“Of course ya don't, and I do. At a distance. I feel like ya aren't just sittin' here because I'm reading.”
-Jagae was mostly joking with the first statement, sighing as she went back to reading, though she wasn't doing much reading at this point given the distraction next to her. One of her 'new' ears twitched.-
"Pfffft, mhm~"
“Ya make it incredibly hard to read in peace, I hope ya know that.”
-She'd make a bunny ear fold (FREAK) on the page she was on, closing the book and resting it on her lap.-
“It's the bunny thing. Isn't it.”
“It is really not that interesting. You were baked with fox features for witches sake!”
-Jagae tapped her foot against the ground, as was typical for her when annoyed, or some other harsh emotion.-
"Yes but it makes you cuter~"
-Her cheeks flushed ever so slightly as she scoffed softly.-
“I am the Guildmaster of the Jagae Guild. I am not cute.”
"You are very cute~"
“I am not!”
-Jagae waved a hand at him in 'annoyance'.-
"Are too~!"
-She light-heartedly glared at the other, before shaking her head a bit. She then made a very empty threat, which was only empty because she'd feel bad.-
“I can throw ya 'cross this room, no.”
"Yeah, but you won't~"
“Says who? I could.”
"You could but I'm too amazing~"
-She'd playfully roll her eyes.-
“Yeah right. Whatever ya say with an ego the size of the sea.”
-She'd tease. She'd shift from where she sat just a bit, seeming to attempt to get more comfortable, especially when trying to get used to the ears, and tail. The ears made her balance feel a bit off. It was strange.-
"Ahahah, my ego helps me be amazing~"
“I'm going to shove your ego down your throat if you say you're amazing one more time.”
"You're amazing~"
“..Smartass.”
-She gently bonked the side of his head with her hand.-
"Pfffft~"
“Don't laugh!”
“I- Augh! You're insufferable.”
-Her ears shifted back a bit, a show of her annoyance, but it really didn't help her case.-
"Ahaha~ Cutie~"
“Shut it.”
-She'd cross her arms with a bit too dramatic of a pout on her face.-
"Nope~!"
“Yep! Quiet, ya talk to much.”
“Exactly.”
-Her ears flicked up a bit, a show of triumph of sorts.-
-She'd tilt her head slightly.-
“What?”
He flicks her nose.
"C-ute~!"
-Jagae scrunched her nose, shaking her head a bit.-
“..I hate ya. So much.”
"No you don't~"
“I do in this very moment!”
"Nope~!"
-She'd grumble, shifting around so her back was facing Manju out of spite.-
"Awww, come on~"
He pouts.
-Jagae groaned, carefully laying back and resting her head in his lap. Looking up at him, she replied.-
“Happy now?”
“Of course ya are.”
-She'd sigh in joking disappointment, her ears twitching.-
“..I love ya, Foxie.”
"... I love you too~"
-Jagae smiled.-
“I'm glad.”
"I know~"
“Soo, was there any reason that ya came by in the first place, or did ya just miss me that much?”
"Just miss you~"
“Aww, isn't that cute?”
-Jagae giggled softly, turning the cute comment back on him.-
“..Ya can be incredibly lenient at times. Makes it hard to bother ya.”
-She'd reach up from his lap to poke his cheek over and over again. Purely due to impulsive thoughts. Poke poke poke. Poke goes the bunny.-
"Ahahaha~"
He pokes her cheek.
-Jagae continued to poke Manju, humming in thought for a moment before she spoke her mind.-
“What if I poke ya ears? Are ya ears ticklish? Hmm..”
"U-uh..."
-Jagae looked at him, before a mischievous grin formed on her face.-
“..Scientific experiment!”
-She'd begin poking his ears gently, before attempting to tickle them.-
They twitch.
"S-stop that...!"
“See, I said that same thing when ya kept calling me cute.. and what did ya do?”
