Who says snow sports are just for winter? Not in Washington. I shot this photo on July 20th, 2013 on a hot day around 11,000 feet on Mount Adams before we summitted the volcano and snowboarded and skied the over 5,000 feet of soft but bumpy snow back down to the snowline.

Zoe, an OSU College of Ag major, interned at organic AgriStar in North Powder, and specialized as a "pivot tech." A sudden late summer storm necessitated an emergency windshield swipe in the middle of the field. (Zoe is my daughter.)

With autumn looming, I thought it would be fun to do a summer ‘show and tell’ for our next photo contest. So, we want to see photos of you enjoying outdoor adventures. As always, winner of our contest gets featured on our website and social media pages, local chocolate and the glory!
Rules:
Please post your own photos or photos by others if you have permission to do so. Include a photo credit if the photo was not taken by you.
Eligible photos were taken in the summer of 2013.
Submit up to 3 photos.
Include your name, photographer’s name (if necessary), location of photo and a brief caption or description.
Deadline to submit is Monday, September 23, 5pm Pacific. Winner will be announced Wednesday, September 25 on our blog.

Tweedy's Lewisia (Lewisiopsis tweedyi) is a unique flower native to the dry, eastern slopes of the Wenatchee Mountains in Washington and British Colombia. It is the sole member of its genus and can be found nowhere else on Earth.
