friendly reminder that “i don’t like vegan food” or simply “i don’t want to be vegan” is a perfectly good reason to not be vegan and you are not unethical or immoral for enjoying and consuming animal products!

No offence to you, my friend, I have nothing against you but this always confuses me!

If you were to exploit people, and tried to justify it by saying ‘I don’t want to not exploit people’, it would never be allowed because you’ve not at all considered the people’s point of view.

If you were to abuse animals, and tried to justify it by saying ‘I don’t want to not abuse animals’, people would never allow it because you’ve not at all considered the animal’s point of view.

If you were to intentionally pollute the planet, and tried to justify it by saying ‘I don’t want to not ruin the earth’, people would never allow it because it’s the home to all, and you’ve not at all considered the victim’s point of view.

And yet, when your choices cause the death, exploitation and degradation of animals, people, and the planet, it’s completely fine to justify it by saying 'I just don’t want to be vegan’, it’s fine?

How so?

I can take a guess in that because the effects of your choices are out of sight and therefore invisible to the public, people can get the impression that they don’t exist, however just because you can’t see the consequences of your actions doesn’t mean that they should not define your life’s choices.

As I said, I have nothing against you! I feel that a lot of the things I’ve said regarding the planet and people were totally unbeknownst to you, and I feel that with regards to animals, you were not at all considering the victim’s point of view, and so I apologise. The logic doesn’t hold. Always prioritise the victim’s point of view.
