This picture captures more emotion that it may seem. Although he looks stoic on the outside, he’s beyond relieved on the inside. This little black box contains his sacred Yu-Gi-Oh deck which he has earned and curated for months. He thought he lost it yesterday at soccer camp (because he never goes anywhere without it.) He didn’t cry when he broke his arm, but he was full-on wailing for hours when he thought this was lost forever. As a parent hearing your child in such agony, you just want to scoop them up, buy a new one, and make everything ok. But you can’t. That’s not the lesson we want him to learn. He got lucky this time when a camp counselor found it and brought it back to him this morning. Let’s hope he learned something valuable. Time will tell. @awen_moon
