ok i’m just going to fucking say it. age regression is not something you can have without trauma. it is not an aesthetic, it is not simply just a “state of mind,” it’s not just an aesthetic. age regression is a form of dissociation and it’s caused by childhood trauma. it’s not your kawaii kidcore aesthetic. it can be terrifying, isolating and uncomfortable to deal with as your brain, vocabulary and motor skills regress to those of a child’s. i’m sick and tired of seeing “i’m not traumatized, i just age regress for fun and think it’s cute!” because it’s so disrespectful to trauma survivors, and nobody ever talks about it.
