I'm off sick from work and my husband and I have been super ill. Anyway, he got better before me and my family all went for a big meal and he went, but I am adamant that if I'm too sick for work, I can't be out socialising. So I'm still at home but they all had a picture of them all in their Christmas jumpers and im a little shit, so I literally sent a picture of me in a christmas cardiagan so they could photoshop me in, but it's bad 😂 so now we are all joking that I was very clearly there and there's no need to photoshop me in.

My husband dragged me out at midnight as we have a good pick up truck that does well in this weather and he knows people are going to be stuck. So far, we have helped 8 people stuck on the roads. I love TV Kathani Sharma

I love both of these amazing women both the ways they were written.

Only thing I hated about the TV adaption was the decision to have Edwina actually be in love with Anthony and fight with Kate over him. Just because I loved the way in the book she was a little relieved because he wasn't learned enough for her. But I appreciate a regency based show actually showing women acting less than gracefully because they were still just women.

But yeah, the people going for Simone because she isn't white, yeah those people suck.

She is an amazing actress and honestly couldn't picture a better Kate at this point.

Oh god. Mine was Pingu. I remember being really ill once and my Nan put it on in the background for me, and j had fever dreams and that fuckibg whale haunted me for years. I had such a fear of the show, I still don't know if the whale was in the show or not. Too scared to find out.

Today is my 26th birthday. Its the worst one I've ever had.

I'm so extremely serious when I say doctors should be put through an extremely extensive reliscensing process every 10 years. Doctors should have their knowledge scrutinized against current medical research and be de-barred at even the tiniest discrepancy. Too many old doctors absolutely refuse to stay up to date on research and dismiss patients because of their personal experiences. Too many people die every year because doctors don't take us seriously and refuse to listen to people who KNOW something is wrong. Too many people are told their problems are nothing and come back in a year or more with serious illnesses and doctors are just like "lol everyone makes mistakes" but doctors mistakes routinely cost people their lives! I'm tired of medical malpractice being swept away under the guise of "mistakes were made."

nurses should too, and both should have patient experiences + reviews reviewed by some kind of board on a similar basis. There’s way too many nurses and doctors who are negligent at best and callous and abusive at worst to patients.

As a nurse in the UK, I can confirm that we have to be revalidated every 3 years. It's a mandatory part of practice and we have to have feedback from patients, relatives and members of the multidisciplinary team. We have to prove that we've attended top up training and that we've provided evidence that we are keeping up with our learning. We also have to pay to practice nursing, so a lot of people who are fed up with the job, tend to leave as they don't want to pay to do a job they're miserable over.

In this scene, I was so sure they were going g to get in a car accident because of the happy smiles and too many TV show plot twists to count. When they got there safe and happy, I was so relieved and thought I was just paranoid... I shouldn't have believed otherwise. That being said it was absolutely beautifully done. Derry girls is one of the best written, performed and produced shows out there and I don't feel ready to say goodbye.
