Sing a song of Golem, born of ancient clay, where silence thick and secrets stick in Prague at close of day.
Fingers smear the river mud, words carve through the gloom, Rabbi whispers mysteries inside his candle’s room.
Mouthless, heartless, standing tall— heavy shadow, empty eyes— he waits for breath that isn’t his beneath the vault-black skies.
Letters on his brow ignite: truth and life and fear— he lumbers out to guard the flock the rabbi’s people dear.
Stone cannot know mercy, nor clay the taste of pain, yet in the night he listens to footsteps down the lane.
O, sing of Golem’s sorrow— creation’s lonely child— who longed for love and understanding but only was reviled.
When dawn dissolves enchantment, and spells are swept away, the Golem sleeps in attic dust, awaiting another day.
Sing a song of Golem, of hope and dread entwined— the dream of one who made him, and the fear he left behind.
