hard feelings by lorde is so goddamn heartwrenching. the imagery she evokes. the scene she paints of two people who have just become ex lovers sitting in a car in silence, neither one wanting to leave just yet because they know the instant they step back onto solid ground their lives and who they are to each other will be changed forever. so for now this instant in the liminal space stretches out endlessly. and the moment later on when she reminisces about the little moments, like dancing together in living rooms or going to the grocery store. the little moments that are so small and insignificant at the time but then they become memories and suddenly they’re limited and have a time limit before they’re lost forever so you treasure them. lorde fucking hell we need you
