Hero and the Necromancer (Open Starter)

“Will you hero types leave me alone?! I haven’t done anything to anyone and I’m getting sick of wasting resources killing you all when you attack me!”

Zenia was the local powerful necromancer. Her powers were astonishing really. She could mend bone and knit flesh to recreate a person perfectly. She could raise so many undead that she could probably take over a country. Heck, some say she stopped aging. But she was unaffiliated with anyone which made many people nervous, prompting the sending of heroes to ‘deal with her’. She was less than happy with that.

You tell your master that Zenia the conquerer of death will not be slain by you paltry heroes and that if they bother me more, I will turn one of your cities to a literal ghost town!” She raised her hands, green energy covering it like eerie fire. “Now flee before I but your skin on the inside and your organs on the outside!”

“Halt Zenia! While it is true I know who you are and what you are capable of, I did not come to fight you. Far from it. I came because I require your assistance,” said Isabella as she approached the other, with her weapon put away to show she is not here to harm her.

“I am aware of your powers and what you can do. I wish to pay for your services to help me. I do not work for anyone, but myself. And I only need your assistance to bring back someone for me to gather information for my quest,” said Isabella as she stood across from her, while showing she comes in peace. “I can give you whatever you want if you do this for me.”

Zenia leaned on the side of the tower window, looking unimpressed. “So someone died before you could get answers to something? That or they were already dead when you needed the information.” Zenia thought for a moment, looking over the heroine.

She soon came to a decision. “A barrel of valuable Pink Rose Wine. I’ve been craving something pleasing to taste. But you also need to get at least some part of the dead person’s body. All of it would be ideal and make speaking to them more easily. Plus that’s less material for me to shape. They won’t be leaving this tower and I can not compel them to answer while they have their thoughts. With all this, do you still want my services?”

Zenia sighed and waved her hand. A basic skeleton rose from the ground to open the door. “There is an elevator in the back. Do try to have some decorum and don’t touch anything. My chambers are at the top floor. The elevator will be pulled up by some of my muscle golems. I’ll be freshening up. My name is Zenia, Master Necromancer.” With that, she headed away from her window.

The room was quite dark décor. Silk all over, candles keeping the room lit, and polished bones making most of the furniture base. There was a door with light peeking out, a bathroom Zenia was getting ready in.

Today you had been selected to be Azula’s exercise partner. Ever since she... well went bat shit crazy, it has been a slow crawl to get her to the point she was now. Where she could be not under total confinement without attacking someone or trying to escape. Interacting with others was part of the process. You were warned though Azula had high standards and not keeping up with her would be bad for you. Unfortunately you seemed to stare at her chest which was swaying with her jogging on the treadmill.

“I know what a Grimm is. A being born as a servant of the God of Darkness. They do not have a soul and instinctually attack those with souls. They are drawn in by negative emotions. I wasn’t aware such a creature could breed. Grimm typically take the role of destroyers. Creating life is quite outside their usual skill set.”

The sounds and visions, while not freaking her out, didn’t exactly amuse her. “By doing that to the adventurer’s guild, you have made sure nobility will get involved. There are checks and balances. They are sure to perceive me as a threat if not the cause. I will waste so many of my creations defending myself. I had good subjects as well. Real quality...”

Zenia thought on what to do. This Scarlet didn’t seem to be the type to take no for an answer. She however wasn’t much of a big fan of the trouble she was bringing with her actions. She had to do something though.

“Here is the deal. I want to study Grimm. Their lives and deaths. You make that possible... I’ll take the former option. Think of it as paying up for the damages coming.”
