To preface, I don't mind Korrasami - in fact I couldn't care less who Korra ended up with so long as it was written well. And therein lies the problem, because when you have to write an overly long piece explaining to your audience why so and so relationship is canon, that means you wrote it poorly. Plain and simple.
My one problem with the finale: Bryke has just ensured that for endless months the only thing the fandom will be discussing/arguing/scratching each other's goddamn eyes out over is Korra's love interests.
The massive implications of Prince Wu attempting to transform the Earth Kingdom into a democracy? The thousands upon thousands of uprooted Republic City refugees? The restoration of the city after being half wiped off the map? The race to commercialise Spirit energy? The technological advancements demonstrated by Kuvira's mecha?
And so on, and so on. To be blunt, I'm more excited about the potential extended LoK universe than two people holding hands. But then shipping drama has never held my interest. I figure the fandom will be stuck on that well into 2015 and beyond.
Happy Holidays wildestthing!!
I am your secret avatar santa and right after the finale i couldn’t help but draw some korrasami. Hope you like it! :))
korrasami rn in spirit world
So...did I just watch Legend of Korra, or a poor man's Evangelion episode?
Kuvira vs. Suyin. Now that's how you do a damn good fight scene.
Guys, this is what we've all been waiting for.
*takes deep breath*
VARRISAMI CONFIRMED!!!
Personally, Book 2 was the lowest point in the series. Until today.
Random LOK question
If I (a white girl) wanted to cosplay as Korra, would that be whitewashing?
Only thing that matters is your personal reasons for wanting to cosplay as her, nothing else. I say do it.
i don’t even know what to say about this tbh
So, next week is the finale right?
Because lolfuckingwithtoph'sswamp.
Trigger Warning: Unpopular Opinion
Welp, that episode confirms it: I've lost all interest in Kuvira and her motivations.
The black/white portrayal of characters is something I'm really not impressed by at this point in the series. Kuvira has swiftly devolved from a complex, fascinating character into your typical, generic villain. All the interesting questions about morality, geopolitical aims and the relevance of monarchy were thrown out the window in Ep.5 and Kuvira was painted as 'evil'. All that potential, gone, just like that. With that being said, Korra vs Kuvira was, personally, the dullest fight that's taken place thus far in the entire LoK series. I love fight scenes; I live for them. They're among my favourite things to watch and top the list as my favourite thing to write. However, I'm bored of seeing Korra pushed to resort to physical fights (particularly concerning something of this scale) to resolve every issue, and I'm so damn tired of watching the 'villain' play around with his/her food. It's a fight, with ridiculously high stakes. So finish it. This isn't a game. You just put the completion of your mission to unite an entire nation under one banner (yours!) on the line. If you don't act like you care, why should I as the viewer? And finally, the Avatar State = Win Button condition. Really? It's frustratingly simplistic. Korra's been out of commission for three years. Rght then and there Kuvira outclasses her easily. Watching her flick a switch and then suddenly start dominating was just so...uninspired. : /
Lmao no way in hell did Meelo draw that pic of Korra. Methinks a certain lady friend likes to doodle, very creatively. If not, well, there's always fanfiction!
Yo...is Korrasami...real? Are they really doing it? Bryke??
As someone who loves fight scenes/choreography and Studio Mir's ridiculous level of attention to detail, I want so badly to see Kuvira fight hand-to-hand at some point in Book 4.
I am officially a Kuvira fanboy. Sweet lord this is the character I've been waiting for.
